This was a boys orphanage. A rich middle aged man bought it and theres many stories that i have witnessed. I lived a block away from this house I heard howling at about 10 p.m. this place is indeed haunted.

I’ve been having the same preminission every night since two years ago, to my knowledge it is telling me that I need to find this person in my dream, but I do not understand it. Atop of that, I have also had my run-ins with some ghostly spirits, One night while I was walking home, I noticed a girl standing by the street, so I went to go help her out, but when I got closer to her, she continued to fade away, then when I finally reached her I was surprised to find a locket on the ground, when I went home that night I watched the news and found out that there was a girl dying of a terrible disease, when they showed a picture of her, I immediately went to the hospital where she was being held, I told the doctor to give her the locket, and when they did, I was sitting in the waiting room, and the doctor came back out and told me that she had died after he handed her the locket, but, the surprising thing was she had a smile upon her face, and when I got up and turned to leave the hospital, I came face to face with the ghost of that girl, she was short and thin, but she looked so happy, she looked like she wanted to say something, but she couldn’t, I then welcomed her, and exercised her body to heaven. I am a buddhist monk and I appreciate spirits, and I believe that no spirit is angry, just confused and disoriented, wondering if they are dead, and become upset when no one sees them or helps them. So, I have made it my lifes mission to help spirits find peace. And recently my brother had died, actually it was back in June, and he was shot in the head, I went to the crime scene, and even though it hurt to be there and I could sense much pain and suffering in that mere room. I prayed for the souls that died in that room to find rest, I then went into the back room where my brother’s killer had died, and I casted his soul to find rest as well. After that moment, the whole atmosphere had changed. I’m sure that many people can exercise spirits, and a question that was asked of me recently, was “why do, whenever we go to cemetaries do we hear the voices of children?” Well, Children mostly die without the knowledge of what death is. And so, with that, they never seem to cross over, I have done my studies and have exercised children spirits before, there have been poltergiests in some of the places, the children had become enraged by something and didn’t like it, so they threw objects around the room and broke light bulbs and chilled the mere air. I calmed down those spirits with prayers and then I gave them peace by exercising them. I wish that more people could do such things and be able to help more spirits find peace. I wish the best of luck to all and I hope that all the spirits you help find the peace they have been looking for. And I apologize for all of you that have lost loved ones. I hope that you will find peace in your hearts as well, to put the past behind you, though your feelings may still linger. Good Luck and Good bye.

My ex-husband Allen, and his brother and sister lived in the Masonic Children’s Home in Guthrie till its closing. Allen took me there to show me around and tell me about what it was like living there. The only weird thing that I saw that freaked me out was when I opened a door on the main floor and saw that someone had been living in that room. There was a bed, and there was an electric heater running. I don’t remember there being any electric on anywhere else in the building. He showed me the indoor swimming pool, the girls dormitory, the boys dormitory. We looked at the bell tower, but did not try to go into it. It was a really cool place! The main room on the first floor had a cornerstone that he wanted to get because he was sure something was hidden inside. We learned several years later after it was purchasd by a private individual that upon remodeling, when they removed the cornerstone, some very interesting items were found inside. Some of the playground materials were still there too. It was a very awesome place!

It’s not abandoned. It was bought by some wealthy guy not too long ago, and was reconstructed into a home. It’s on private property, so it’s hard to get into.

Me, my future ex-wife, and a couple of friends went into the old children’s home back in the fall of 1994 when we were all freshmen at Oklahoma Christian University. Very, VERY creepy place back then, but only one TRULY scary moment: We were all in a room or a hallway that overlooked the large room w/ the pool, which was about 1/2 full of muddy water (due to roof leaks, I suppose). I was looking down at the pool when my flashlight came across an object floating in the water. I put the flashlight back on it, and it was A HUMAN HEAD!!! Now I am not one to scare easily, but I was sooo scared that I literally could not scream, much less speak. I was literally FROZEN w/ fear. Nobody else had seen it yet as they were all looking at other things, so several seconds went by before I finally choked out “head…..pool…..there’s a head…..THERE’S A F-ING HEAD IN THE POOL!!!!!” God, we all screamed so loud, it’s a wonder nobody heard us and called the cops. We didn’t flee in terror, however, but went into the pool room for a closer look. Upon further inspection, it turned out to be a MANNEQUIN HEAD!!!!! Man, that was the best scare I have ever had in my life!!! I took a laundry list notepad and an old fuse from there, that I still have (somewhere). I remember that somewhere on the outside of the building(s) there was a cornerstone that was engraved with the date the building was dedicated, and I SWEAR the date on it was October 31st!!! That was pretty freaky. Can anyone back me up on that??? I actually got in the elevator and sure enough, it had an inspection sticker from 1978, the year the home closed. Such great memories, it’s so weird to see the place is all fixed up nice and USED FOR WEDDINGS!!!:

Still kinda creepy in a weird way, though. Hard to believe someone actually LIVES there, too. I don’t think I could get married there, after being in there and seeing what it looked like just a decade or so ago. Such great memories, though…

The hospital is an ongoing investigation for the OKCGC (Oklahoma City Ghost Club). They have a website where cameras are on in certain places in the hospital 24 hours a day and you can view them live and chat about what you see (www.researchwebcam.com). If you go inside you will be on the cameras too and they will call the police. They have different scenarios set up inside like toys in some rooms where you can watch and see if they move. They change/check equipment often so that is why there are lights on inside and they may be off at other times. Hope this answers some questions.

I grew up in the Masonic Children’s Home in Guthrie during the 1950s and 60s. It was not an orphanage. It was not a boys home. It was a well-run charitable effort by the Masons that provided children from poor families and broken homes a decent chance in life.
We were well cared for.
During the years I lived there, no children were murdered, there were no rumors about children having been murdered, and there was never any feeling of creepiness or of the place being haunted in any way.
Any large building, once it’s vacant, can seem eerie, but I suspect that any encounters anyone has had there are a case of BYOG — Bring Your Own Ghost.
The main reason I’m commenting on this site is because it’s cool enough to use RECAPTCHA.

The Masonic boys home is at the intersection of college and elm street. I always thought it creepy that it was on Elm street. The old hospital is on 19th street. I live across the main road from it.

Google the “Samaritan Foundation”. It was a cult formed in Guthrie, ok. They did rituals at the boys home as well as other places around town. Don’t ask around town about them though because no one will talk about it. Look it up. It’s a cold case file that hasn’t been solved.

Here is some info on the cult.
