So, is the OKCGC even around anymore? and the link to the webcam in the hospital just leads to another random .com, so either they’re having technical difficulties or it got changed maybe? I’d like to explore the hospital but don’t want to get in trouble for trespassing… Can anyone give me some more info?

It was one of the wierdest experiences of my life and hers as well.

I use to visit the haunted boys home back in 94′ – 97′ we use to go there a lot to just drink and try to scare each other. If it is the place that I remember there is a full size basketball court and pool in the lower east end of the building. I can remember that if you yelled who killed you almost any time after dark you could hear faint crying of children. I went to revisit the place in 2002 and was told by the cops that someone did buy it and was in process of renovating the building. I hope that if it is done when I get back to the states that they will let me take some pictures.

I went to the old hospital back in 88 or 89. Me and a group of friends drove up from Yukon on one particular aimless night. It was the middle of the night (3AM?) when we went inside. Just parked out front and went in a window (if I recall, a couple of people waited in the car). It was of course abandoned, as this was years before those paranormal goofballs set up there. We explored the entire building from the basement to the roof. Creepy, yes. haunted, most certainly not. We were using torches for light. How we avoided getting arrested is beyond me, as even back then we had been warned by locals that if you were caught there it was STRAIGHT to jail. However, I don’t think that it was as heavily patrolled as it is now. The place was filthy, of course. Lots of used junkie needles and trash strewn about. Again, though, not haunted. Now there are the afore-mentioned paranormal goofballs set up there, so it is not really cool to go there anymore, as it is not really abandoned. They have a website set up about it with live cams. Somebody should do them a favor and tell them that it’s not haunted and they can close up shop. Regrdless, You WILL be arrested now, and the charge will probably be breaking and entering. I know, it sucks. Just keep that in mind if you decide to make the attempt. Those of you looking for directions, just exit I-35 on Hwy 33 (Noble Ave)and head west for a bit (it is on the far west edge of town). Turn right on N. 19th street. Straight ahead 1 block. Can’t miss it. It is the tallest structure around. People act like it has a secret location or something, but it’s easy as can be to find, and kind of unmistakable once you see it (which you will a long ways away). Good luck to you, and take bail money. Regards – TM

There are moments when I just can’t keep my mouth shut, and after reading the last post, I find myself having one of those moments….
“those paranormal goofballs” that Tim referred to have one of the longest running research sites set up. There has been a lot of time, energy and money put into it. I respect the heck out of them, and having met a few of the research members. They are normal every-day people, not “goofballs”, or fruitcakes, or whatever other insults that people would like to throw at them.
I was lucky enough to be invited on one of their investigations. I am about as normal as you can get, middle-aged mother of 5, don’t scare easy, and believe that knowledge is power. What scares so many is the fear of the unknown.
I can tell you from experience, that hospital is haunted. We had objects thrown across the room, random cold spots (in July) that felt like standing in a freezer, and objects moving after being placed in a controlled environment.
My advice to those out there who would like to get involved in paranormal research would be to find a reputable group (there are a few in the Oklahoma area), and join them.
DON’T GO TRESPASSING!!!!! Do your homework people and have patience.

Hi, I have frequented the old orphange several times in my youth… when we first started going there we were not brave enough to actualy go in..we would just watchout side the gates.. and you could see shapes and light in the house..one time the train went by and you could hear the bell from the bell tower..except there was no bell.. and you could faintly here kids voices..when we actualy got brave enough to go inside we had meet up with some local kids that were also going inside and said they would give us a tour.. we had to clim through the window and went all the way down to the basement… the whole time you felt like somone was watching you.. when we finally made it down to the basement we discovered an under ground passage. we were going to go explore it but once one of our friends got down inside it, his flash light would not stay on.. there was about ten of us total and the other nine that were not in the passage used our lighters to give light and as you all know lighters get hot, and when the lighters went out one of the local girls that were with us gasped and said omg dont turn around of course the other eight of us did. and standing there was a little girl.. needless to say we booked it out of there..it was one of the scariest things, yet i went back several times after that never saw anything like that again but always had that creepy hair on the back of my nekc someone is watching me feeling…

So, the “paranormal goofballs” have a website? I’m not a skeptic when it comes to paranormal activity. I only refer to this group by that title because I’m not sure what else to call them. If you could, let me know the name of the Website, and if they have a name, the name of the group. I’d like to contact them. Thanks guise.
Steve.

Hi Steve. The website of the ‘goofballs’ is http://www.researchwebcam.net/. The group is called OKC-PRG, and the multiple cams update the pics every 10 secs or so. They have been there for many years now. Still absolutely *no* proof of *anything* paranormal (attn: Terri). Just a big creepy building, exactly like when i was there 20 years ago, albeit it looks a lot cleaner now (no junkie needles). Not haunted, but interesting nontheless. Best Regards – TM

My Name is Taylor and i am 14 years old! My dad told me stories about when he was a kid, and one shocked me so much that I wanted to find information on it but i need your help. This happened in Miskogi oklahoma(sorry dont know how to spell it)when my father was a young boy him and his dad and mom and my uncles were waiting on my grandmaa sister to come pick them up at some park near some woods. My uncles, dad , and grandpa went to explore in the woods and he said they found a grave stone that had a story on it about a young woman who went to fetch a bucket of water but wolves chased her up a tree and she froze to death. and on the tomb stone had her name and it was a stone from the 1800’s(cant exactly remeber), my dad didnt know if the story was true about the young girl, but then later he saw a glowing figure in a tall tree. I have always wanted to find that tomb stone but was never lucky enough to find it!!!!!!

The Masonic Boys Home used to be a popular site for devil worshipers. Back in the 70s or 80s my dad & some friends snuck in there & found a paniting of an upside down pentagram that was kinds split in the middle making it look like horns. And in the basement were dozens af bones, most likely animal.

People who say that places that are so obviouslly haunted have no paramormal senses. They couldn’t recognize & ghost if it bit them at the a$$!
Anyway… A woman hung herself in the bell tower because it had been discovered that she killed several children & buried them in the basement.
That is an evil place, they should tear it down, not try to slap lipstick on a pig & renevate it.

I went inside the boys home several years ago before the renovation and it is pretty creepy. Nothing too weird ever happened. The scariest thing was the dam cops that drove by every 10 minutes just hoping to catch someone shining a flashlight out the window so they could give them a fat ticket, and they did. There is another place down the road to the west about six miles ( old Logan County Hospital). It is still abandoned and scary as hell inside. But is also patrolled religiously by police. So be careful if you get caught you will get a ticket for what ever they can think of.

The stories and facts mentioned in the comments above are incorrect, the building was The Masonic Home for Children. The home at that location was opened in 1923 and closed in 1978. It was a home for boys and girls not an orphange or delinguent boys home. No one was killed or committed suicide there. The place is not haunted. I lived there from 1965-1969 and never witnessed any paranormal events. The children that lived there were scared and hurt, lonely for their families. Some of the staff were kind and some were not. My sister was physically and emotionally abused and my brother was sexually abused by staff members.

I have been in Guthrie my entire life, I as a teenager frequented the masonic childrens home on many occassions. I have seen and heard things while inside that were extremely scary, as well as the children who I believe did die while living at the Home their have also been satanic rituals performed on the premises and inside the building. I truly believe both the childrens home and the hospital in Guthrie are haunted and the woman who owns the stone lion inn has made **** up just to lure customers in under false pretenses.
