Hacienda
In this house once lived a man, his wife, and their servant. Early one morning, the insane maid hanged herself in the basement near the freezer. Shortly thereafter, the wife shot her husband and then killed herself. Employees now report seeing soda fountains fill glasses on their own, toilets flushing, and flickering lights. Almost every employee, however, constantly hears a whispery “Jobs done, go home now.”

well oddly enough this story doesnt match everything else I have heard in th past….the maid wasent killed in the basement, it was in the attic, the only room on the top floor…and the lights would always come on. untill they took out the light. then they boarded up the room and noone was allowed atmetance. someone correct me if i was wrong.

First of all, what I’ve heard, the maid hung herself in the bathroom, not the basement. My friend’s mom knew the people who owned the property before, and knows more information about it.
And you people who are acting like idiots in these comments need to get a life. If you are telling people to getting a life while YOU’RE here too, then just stfu. (: Because obviously you need a life too, hypocrite.

it appears to me that people who have to use profanity are only showing their lack of intelligence by appearing holier than thou. some of these people may have experienced it or may have let their imagination carry them away.either way it can be realistic to them.no one is being hurt by these stories so why don’t you take your filthy mouth to a website that allows for this type of infantile speech.

The correct way to refer to the past tense of a hanging, the capitol punishment, is hanged: to suspend or fasten something so that it is held up from above and not supported from below, or be suspended or fastened in this way.

My mother use to work at hacienda a long time ago and worked there for many years. She has told me stories of things that have happened there so this is true. The one thing that scared her the most was when she was using the restroom upstairs and the door opened on its own when it was locked. So i believe that the old house is haunted.

I think that this is true because I have a ghost living in my house ( and to the people who don’t believe me I saw her before). So ghosts are true…..!!

While I was living in the Bend, I worked for The Beanery coffee house around the corner from that Hacienda. I would often times have waitresses stop in before their shift. I heard many interesting stories about that place, and according to some responses, I believe that the place holds some very impressive energy. These young ladies were honestly frightened in some circumstances. One story in particular that I still remember was that of an upstairs room (attic?). Apparently, one of these women and a busboy had just finished stacking up all of the chairs from a dining room, cleaned, and shut the door. Having realized that he had left something in there, the busboy returned to the room some time later before locking up only to find every chair neatly placed back at the tables, lights on. Everyone that night was called up to witness. This story was told to me at least two or three years ago, so some of the individuals that worked there are no doubt still around. They’ll tell you. (oh yea, and they have terrible food but great atmosphere and margaritas!)

In the 60’s my dad’s best friend lived there (late 1960s). Obviously before it was a restaurant. I’ll have to ask him if he experienced anything.

This last Christmas break, my family and I went to Indiana to visit my grandparents. We went to hacienda for lunch. After reading this story it gives me chills beacuase I went to the bathroom by myself and the stall door opened. I thought nothing of it at the time but now it scares me!! i cant believe I ate there now. Im terrified of haunted places.
(oh yea && the food it great)

I’ve been there hundreds of times (my church is 2 minutes away). The only thing that ever happened to me was the water turned on by itself. I was at the sink washing my hands and the sink next to me turned on. I was the only person in the restroom. The entire place has an odd feeling to it. Also, there is supposedly an underground tunnel connecting it to a house across the street. It is now closed, as it is unsafe.

These people probably have had real experiences there. You can not tell them that they haven’t, it is their experience. I live near there and I did not know that it was haunted. That is freaky! I will be on the lookout the next time I go there.

Im a member of the ghost hunting team, MPI, this story has interested me so much that I shall refer it to my group as one of our potential investigations.
And for the record each and everyone of us has had an experience with ghosts and we have Voice recordings from Posey Chapel of a man named Terrance who apparently wanted to “slit our throats.” We have also several photos of different haunts with images of apparitions, orbs, and red eyes. So yes I DO believe in ghosts….

Told my bfriend and he said that he knew the place was haunted but forgot to tell me.. dumb ***! lol

When you are there eating it is eerie. The little squeeky narrow staircases too….squeemish. I happen to know from a personal experience that the Commerce Bank Building on LaSalle Street, South Bend, right next to the Race is haunted saw a ghost there in person, He looked just like a regular person standing there until he disappeared. The Club I saw him at was called Rafferty’s located in that building upstairs, Isn’t there anymore, But I’m sure he probably is. You shouldn’t judge people, Saying they are crazy thinking there are such things as ghost, I didn’t believe in them either until I saw one.

I believe in paranormal happenings as I have experienced such things as “hauntings.” To be clear, I was NOT looking for any spectors etc.
I now realize that I (for whatever reason) am one of many SANE people
that happen to be “sensitive” to such things and therefore….”out of the ordinary” things happen to me. I have NEVER been afraid. I am wise enough to now realize what is happening and accept it for what it is. The only thing I can say for SURE to any non-believer is this………(think about it)…”WE ARE SPIRITS WITH BODIES NOT BODIES WITH SPIRITS”…so that leaves the door WIDE open for what truly happens when we pass over to the other side. Oh and if you enter an establishment that you feel is truly haunted, whether through information from somewhere or your own personal experience, ALWAYS as Michael The Archangel for protection upon entering and when you leave silently say to the spirit(s) … STAY HERE, because they have been known to follow you, depending on how strongly they are bound to an area/home etc. Thank you for reading this and have a FANTAZMAGORICAL day!
^i^PEACE^i^

Last week my mother and I decided to go back to our favorite place,Hacienda, where we always sit in the loft. This particular night it was full,so I said “Let’s try something different, and sit on the other end. The waitress led us upstairs, and sat us in a corner-The room to the left of the staircase we came up. Our table was in the corner, left of the room ,our table butted up against a door with no handle. My mom commented that that was kind of wierd, rather spooky. I do not know if this conversation began “something”, but shortly after, behind my mom, along a window,I saw something zoom from left to right in three big circles, faster than anything I’,ve ever seen, but it was so obvious it made three circles, because as I saw it,It seemed to make a “zoom, zoom, zoom,” noise with each circle! We used the bathroom, although creepy feeling,we had no incident there. If you look at the bathroom at the top of the staircase turn to the left, Turn left, look in the corner to the left,I was sitting at the table butted up against the door, looking towards the window.

a few years ago my uncle was a manager at that hacienda. i guess there used to be an office in the attic and he told me that on several occasions after making sure to turn the lights off he would be walking to his car and could see the light in the attic flicker or just stay on all together. He even had an electrician take a look at it and nothing was wrong. My uncle also said that when he opened in the mornings, upstairs he would regularly find chairs turned over and silverware knocked on the floors.
