Real Haunted House

yea, don’t worry about that ghost he or she can’t
hurt yell, just ask it what do yell want. It’s a
reason why they won’t move on. Don’t worry my aunt had one in her basement, but she got somebody to
dig up her basement concret and they found a
skelton of a died man that’s what we found out
later on yes it was a man, now it’s gone, so
it’s a reason.

I’d like to know more about Plum Point Rd. I am from Calvert County and have many family memers still in the area. I think that road is cursed. I have lost a couple of family members on that crazy rd. One an excellent driver fr over 40 yrs. ended up dead, crushed in his car. The other a perfessional CDL holder on his 20 something birthday 1 yr. later seconds from his hom was also killed in his vehicle. I wont even go on that rd. to even visit family anymore. I always got ad vibs about Plum Point Rd. way before these accidents.
Thank U

Plum Point Road is not haunted. I have driven on that road every day for 18 years. It is a straight, open road. There would be no reason for any spirits to haunt a road in the first place. The Neeld Estate is still occupied by members of the Neeld family, so it is umlikely that spririts would occupy the house unless it was sold. There is however a brick house off of Emmauel Church Rd. that is said to have sprirts of slaves that worked on the property in the 1800’s. Also the Patterson House in Lusby is said to have paranormal activity.

also. I spoke with my father last night and he said that it may have once been referred to as “Tauney Place” I’m not sure of the spelling. He told me that he thinks there are still Hances living in that home. He also said something of a duel that took place in the front yard. These are all things he heard of, so i can’t speak to their validity.

I know when I die I will stay around on purpose and what I will do all the time is watch men take showers…especially my husband, because there is no way that they can take a shower in like, five minutes, and actually have EVERYTHING cleaned efficiently. No way. Also, I will always write little notes on the steamed up mirrors when people are showering, like “I know you eat your boogs” or “I heard you pooter in there, and wet pooters are the worse”, or “The only thing going down in this bathroom is the window because your pu$$y STANKS!!”

i live in north beach, more specifically 8th street. a father murdered his wife and little girl in this house then turning the gun on himself. his son came home from school to find all of them. i have met the son, trying to gingerly ask what the father looked like because i saw a mans figure peeking around corners, the description matched. i also got real bad vibes from the basement where the little girl was killed. cant remember the family name, but i sold the house. gave me the heebie jeebies.

someone mentioned the old brick house on emmanuel church road.. i’ve lived on this road for 15 years and it has always been known to be haunted. there are multiple sheds on the property that used to be slave quarters and they say you can hear the chains of the slaves clinking at night. i dont know if this is true or not but it wouldnt surprise me. its a very old house. there is a brick on the front of the house that has the year that it was built, although i can not remember what year it was. when i was about seven or eight there was an article in the newspaper that explained the story of this old house. i dont know if anyone that lives around here noticed, but there used to be an old man that lived there( we knew this because he used to come out and yell at kids for trespassing on his property from the neighborhood that backs up to it) i never used to see any lights in the house, only candles. the gate was always locked at the end of the driveway and there was never a car there. i’m pretty sure he died because about two years ago i noticed a car in the driveway and the gate was open. i saw a lady getting out of her car once too. but i havent seen anyone since. it doesnt look like anyone lives there anymore. all i know is that the house freaks me out. i always get really creeped out when i’m driving past it late at night. somethings not right about that house. if you live in the area and have any more details about this house, please let me know. i’ve been trying to research it for the past two hours and can’t find a thing. thanks.

Right below the comment box! This comment thread is a poor reflection on the education levels in Calvert County. We are such a highly ranked education system within the state of Maryland which is also highly rated. Yet we sit down on the internet and post such poor spelling and grammar that it is painful to read.

There is a team that covered Maryland and I do believe one or two of the Calvert legends have made it in. I believe the title is Freaky Maryland.

I saw a comment earlier that claims Plum Point couldn’t be haunted because it is a straight and open road. Plum point is actually a relatively windy road and in most places has no shoulder. I believe you are referring to rt. 261 which passes through the Naval Research Labs (the only straight section of road). Also the comments about Plum Point Rd. did not claim it was haunted, but in fact cursed. I’ve been driving this road personally for almost 20 years and never had an issue, but there is a new accident scene almost every weekend for this road. Mostly it has to deal with people doing 60mph to 70mph on deceptive turns in the rain or deer. Occasionally a tree will fall into the road.

I don’t know about any of the mentioned haunts including the Hance House, but I believe Point Lookout was covered in the book I mentioned. Calvert also has small rickety houses strewn about all over the county mostly overgrown by the wooded regions. These houses may or may not be “haunted”, but I can guarantee a night in them will have your imagination spinning between the sounds of the house and the surrounding ambient nature.

i live in peach blossom farm which is on plum point road. the neighborhood is said to be haunted because it was built on an old slave peach farm. i’ve heard some pretty eerie things go on, i’ve heard many stories from many of my neighbors.

In regards to the girl that was talking about the mansion at Neeld Estates being haunted it definately is. My husband is related to the Neelds and he has told me the story on more then one ocassion, that as he put it Old Lady Neeld him, of the baby that was upstairs in the house and wouldn’t stop crying. One of the slaves was ordered to take the baby back to the one of the slave houses behind the mansion and apparently when he went to get the baby some form of fight ensued and the baby fell from the third floor and there is a blood stain in the back part of the house under one of the rugs. As for peach blossom farm, it used to be part of the Neeld’s Estate and yes that place is very haunted as well.

i am third generation from north beach, so i know all the above mentioned locales. i went to school with the kid from 8th street thats family was murdered. plum point road is not cursed or haunted, there is no crybaby bridge on dalrumple, the goatman does not live behind beach elementary, there is no ghost in white that wanders the boardwalk (it’s only about 15 yrs old) there are numerous old shacks that parents tell there kids they’re slave quarters. i personally lived in the white house across from naval research lab where there was a murder suicide in the 70’s and partied like a county boy in the owings cemetary in between rosehaven and the beach, and nothing. but the stories are great

Tim hunt says:

July 14, 2012, 11:34 pm

I grew up on dalyrumple rd at the top of the hiil from crybaby bridge. Never heard any baby crying. Went to beach elm. Never saw the goat man either. I do know that calvert county residents love to spread rumors. The reason calvert has such good schools is that they hand out good grades. Both my kids get letter after letter that they are behind in reading and math and reading but come report card time they are Einsteins.
I should mention i’ve never seen cheesie either! Did have a friend in middle school who’s gmom lived on lower marlbro rd and she told is of many weird things going on in her house. I did hear some wierd noises one night on a sleep over. But you lnow how kids get.
He told me of a story of a guy being killed while building a fence and that you could hear someone banging on fence posts. That was on the corner of lower marlbro and mill brance rd huntingtown. Anyone ever hear of that one!

My husband and I recently moved to a house in Chesapeake Beach proper. The house was only built in the 80s, and there hasn’t been significant incidents like doors opening and closing or voices. We did, however, see orbs several times in the finished basement. We were staying in a bedroom in the basement for a few weeks while finishing flooring on the main floor, and after hours of tossing and turning while my husband snored away, I noticed a white orb that appeared near the wall. I was really confused since there was no light source, but for whatever reason I felt very relaxed and just turned over and fell asleep. I casually told my husband about it the next day, and he said it was probably one if our cell phones. A few night later he woke me in the middle of the night because there were orbs next to the wall on his side, and he was terrified. The orbs would move, disappear, return, move, then disappear again. I had never seen my husband so terrified. We saw it again a few more times, and could never attribute it to anything else. We haven’t seen anything since we moved upstairs into our bedroom. I think it seems silly to call a handful of homes in Calvert “haunted”. This is a very old area, and although I wouldn’t call my house “haunted”, there is absolutely something…

Leslie Stanley says:

There are plenty of haunted places in Calvert County. I am fimiliar with all those mentioned thus far. My PaPa founded the Willows Colony and has never left. We have many stories of things we have seen and heard here. Since the Hance family owned half of Plum Point RD, so I am not sure which one the legend is specifically about. I have an idea as to which one it is, but can’t be 100% sure. Breezy Point also has its share of ghosts.

Adelina Lady says:

March 19, 2014, 11:38 am

Hi, I know the real story about the Hance home. It is The Taney Place on Adelina Road. My family has lived on this road since the late 1600’s. My grandmother told me the story. There is a trap door in the floor of the home which dates back to the 1600’s. There are shackels in the walls and supposedly a blood stain re-appears on the concrete floor in this cellar. Also yes there was a famous duel in the front yard of the home.
