Real Haunted House

Hart Cemetery

Konawa, Oklahoma

This cemetery is said to be guard be a set of “demon horses.” These horses allegedly walk on air and have eyes of fire. In the rear portion of the cemetery is an old school house that dates back to the nineteenth century. Legend has it that the all the pupils of the school were killed in a horrible bus accident. It is said that at night one may hear children playing and talking, though nothing is there.

OK, I went out to Sacred Heart Mission tonight. It was about ten times creepy. The thing about the gate is right, I saw it with my own two eyes, and the explaination I got for that was that the original groundskeeper from way back when uses your vehicle as his entry to the cemetary. You drive past it once, it’s padlocked and chained. You turn around, and drive back past it, and it’s open, suppossedly by the groundskeeper because he wants you to come in. It creeped me out. As we were driving back by the actual church, I looked over and saw what looked like an old, turn of the century cop car. I asked my friend later, and she saw it too. Apparently, there was a cop that was killed out there, and he’s still there. One of my friends claims to have been pulled over by this cop, with a pale white face and a grin from ear to ear. Can anyone say creepy?

One day, I was walking in front of this place, (I swear this is true), I looked down and found a penny. Picked it up (you know, because all day long you’ll have good luck), well anyway, I picked it up. Then all of a sudden, I crapped my pants. Damn penny didn’t bring me any good luck. So I threw it down and kept walking.

I have lived about 20 miles from Konawa most of my life. The stories scary stories about Sacred Heart Mission, its cemetary, and the headstone that reads
“killed by human wolves” are of local fame. But the sotry about Hart Cemetary I have never heard. I don’t even think it exists.

Human wolves were surgeons back in the day….they killed everyone they worked on pretty much….and imagine a body that they operated on! There are also killed by human wolves in the wolf cemetary. There are a lot of haunted places around Konawa…The wild woman and panther run the creek back behind my house! I have also seen the creepy **** at the local cemetaries…..My son has also seen my grandma that died in the early 80’s in my front yard..Another good haunted house is inbetween Seminole and Maud, used to be the Carr City School. Theres several ghosts there.

One night me and a couple friends were out jacking around so we decided to go check out Sacred Heart. We drove around it once and then parked our car on the side. We went up to the gate and was about to go in when a cop stopped us and said “that he just saved our lives”. He then pointed his hand at a bunch of devil worshipers and said that he was to scared to go in and arrest them. THIS IS VERY TRUE!!!!!!!

I just want to add that I have driven past a cemetery somewhere near Konawa at 3am and seen the gate thing happen. It was probably the freakiest thing I have ever witnessed. Just drive past the cemetery at a normal speed and pay close attention to the padlock on the gate. Then turn around and drive back by the gate and see it wide open with the padlock hanging from a chain but still locked. I had told this story several times since it happened and I’m glad to hear others have witnessed it too.

I used to live in Ada and have been out to Sacred Heart! It is creepy and there are tons of devil worshipers in the area. Especially in the Bowlegs area. Do be careful!!

i use to live in Ada when i was a small child. i can not remember the name of the street. but anyone who lives in ada will know. from Abbots store. take 4th street west about 3 block till you have to turn. go right this road will take you down around a curve with a cemetary. there is a 2 story white house that sits on the corner. i lived in that house for about 6 months. so many things happend when i lived there. my brother was locked in his toy box. when we were moving in. everything we took upstairs was brought back down the first 3 days. and many many more things.

to laynette about the norfolk school in cushing. i also have been there. i have taken my teenage kids and thier friends. i have voice recordings of the kids screaming. my mother went with us. she found an old door knob, she wanted to take it with her, but when she stepped outside the building. she was shoved down and the door knob flew from her hands. ofcourse we left it and left the site. we have been nack many times. everything we can find out is true about the children being killed.

Can anyone spell properly?…Anyway,I think it,s stupid to believe that people could be killed in a bus accident in the 19th century.Duh!And if there is so much devil worshiping going on,then has anyone thought that it may be demons that are manifesting in that cemetary? If you open a door, they will enter.I do beleive there are ghosts of the deceased, but there are also demons,(fallen angels)who will try to bother people if they have had a door opened to them.So do be careful.

Okay, I think I see what the mix up is here about the demon horses! I live outside of Roff, Oklahoma and there is a small cemetery here called “Hart”, not “Sacred Hart” as in Konawa. “Hart” Cemetery in Roff is where the ghost horses are supposed to be. I have never seen them, but I know several people that have claimed to have. My group often visits this cemetery because there is a lot of activity there, we have pictures of strange things we have taken there and we always hear strange noises. And just to add another thing, Haunted Hill at Springer, Oklahoma is real, the car rolling uphill! It happens everytime we go there! That is a place we often go, also. We have some amazing pictures and video from that place! Not just from the car rolling uphill, but from the small rock house that sits behind the fence there. There is ALOT of paranormal activity there. We have the proof on film and video!

Oh, just to let everyone know, “Hart Cemetery” is between Vanoss and Roff. I have lived outside of Roff all my life and we just consider it to be Roff. When you go down Lightning Ridge Road, turn East beside the Lightning Ride Cemetery. Keep going, you’ll see the “Hart Cemetery” sign on the North side of the road. Some people do not believe that this place exists! I have a relative buried there from the 1920’s! It is a real place. Check it out! The best activity takes place after about 1 a.m! I have yet to see the Demon Horses, but I’m patiently waiting…

I am the founder of G.H.O.S.T. (Ghost Hunters of Oklahomas Southeast Territories) i live in Mcalester now but used to live in Ada. The cemetery is sacred heart cemetery and actually the grounds you go into contain mostly the graves of old monks and nuns. the public portion of the cemetery is up by the old church.
yes I have heard about the cop. There is also a couple who died out there in the 40s according to some locals. they have approached people claiming to have lost their keys and needing you to enter the bushes to find them. I only found out about this because it happened to us.
I really thought that they were sincere they didnt look out of place or oddly dressed. which given the fashions these days who can tell. Anyway I had gone back to the car to get a spare battery when i was approached by this couple in “need of help”. All i had to do to help them was to “just look over in those trees for our keys..” so.. being 25 and alone in the woods because my group was down by the old grounds… i declined. They got a bit desperate but I got kind of firm with them and they took off running into the woods. I decided against getting the battery and went back down and got my group and told them we needed to go.
I told my friends dad who has lived there his whole life what had happened and he got really mad and paniced and was like “DO NOT GO BACK IN THERE!” and lectured me and all of us.
The next time I saw him he told me that he had seen them years ago when he was a teenager and he was 55. So you can imagine the chills I got.
There is a lot of history associated with the grounds and it is really a great place for EVP work and Photography.
I know this all sounds unbelieveable but I make a living out of debunking stories. I was there.. I saw it…i cannot explain how we both saw the same thing yet he saw it 40 years earlier.
I used to take people out there every weekend and sneak them in.
There is a thing about the gate. its the way it sits. Its an optical illusion. If you drive one way you can see that the gate is locked clearly. When you come back it looks open. Its not usually. Something about catholic padlocks.. tough material.
I will welcome questions and tell whatever I can to whomever. my email is biker_banshee@yahoo.com
