Real Haunted House

Harville House

Statesboro, Georgia

Two old ladies once resided in this house, but when they died, no one noticed, and all their possessions remained. Today, a blue light can be seen in a window at night, and brave persons who have ventured inside have reported seeing the two women rocking in their chairs.

I can not believe this comment page has been going for 4 years. I also can’t believe the stupid comments some people left. I still have the videos somewhere but I will have to find them. Reggie, I’m not sure if you are looking at the same house that we are talking about. The house we were talking about seemed to be beyond repair, but I don’t know maybe it is.

I am a member of a paranormal research group and if someone can give me the owner’s contact info maybe we can put this thing to rest for good. With and only with the owner’s permission we would investigate.

Wow, looking at the pictures from 07 it really breaks my heart to see such a beautiful house falling down. I hope they are trying to restore it, if so, please do not give up, it is beautiful. I hope that people will show some respect and not try to destroy it. Please restore the house.

I know the people that own the house. Its not the old ladies’ stuff still in the house. The family used it for storage. The lady DID NOT die in the house, she died in the hospital. The house is actully grow over by trees so its hard to see. If you do go be careful because the floor is falling out.
PS:not haunted.

My name is eric brannen.I was born and raised in statesboro georgia.None of the stories about the two old ladies are true.My family new the two old women.Back in the 70S collage kids harrassed the two old women so much they had to move out. the two women were sisters and died of old age in a nurseing home.My brother knows the harvilles who own it know and the stories of it being haunted are not true.i went hunting in the field behind the house a week ago and was their at dark looking in the windows and saw nothing. sorry to let people down.

alot of people on here are lying. I went to the house my freshman year in college back in 2005. The house is not being used for storage, it looks just like someone left one day and it hasn’t been touched, but ofcourse the floors are starting to rot and such. I wasn’t in there for long, because the guy that owned the house came up and called the cops and made us leave, but I’m pretty sure that the people on here saying they know the family and such have no idea what they are talking about.

Well not only do i know them im kin to them and well over half these storie are bull.I think its cool that their is an old well in the hall between the house and kitchen. The guy that owns it know showed it to me and said about twenty years ago they were going to restore it but it would have been 1.5 million back then.So they are going to let it fall in.the cool thing is i found a nice arrow head in the field behind the old house between two cotton plants so ill have something to remember it by.

1.5 million??? You could build about 30 of these houses for cheaper than that must less restore them. You must be referring to a different house. This house is not much more than a shack.

I am a paranormal investigator from Reidsville, Georgia and if there is still a Harville family member watching this site, would you please contact me at my email address. Since there is so much controversy on this house, I was curious to know if you would mind letting us do an investigation around the house to end all of this controversy.

This is actually a family home from the original property owned by the Harville family. The property now is sectioned off to relatives. The story of the 2 old ladies is bull. It was orginally built as a 2 room one level home, and was added on to many times later. The family began very poor, like most in that time did, but over the years acquired land for farming, which is still farmed by the same family name to this day. Leave well enough alone and go study.

The house is not haunted. Never was, never will be. We used to hide out in the house years ago on Halloween and shine flashlights and make noises to scare the trespassers. The house used to have ornate fixtures and things, but are long gone now thanks to all of the people sneaking in and stealing anything of value. Now the house is in such a condition I wouldn’t even try to climb in for fear of falling through the floorboards. It is VERY dangerous at this point, there are no ghosts, and yes we are aware you will try anyway and will be ready to call the cops. Just because no one lives there anymore doesn’t mean it gives you the right to enter private property and break the law. Please just look from the road, admire the once beautiful architecture, and be on your way.

I grew up in Statesboro and have MANY times gone and sat on te road in front of this house (my parents taught me better than to trespass). I never once saw a light that wasn’t a flashlight of some teenager sneaking in but I did one hear a sound that made my blood run cold…the sound of a shotgun chambering a shell. Don’t trespass..it isn’t worth your life to find out that there is nothing to this story.
