According to "Spirit Of A People-Bulloch County 1796-1996",the haunting story originates from the 1950's and is because one of the Harville daughters who had taken ill was seen through a window wearing a white gown on occasion. It goes on to say that a lot of the damage to the house was done by vandals and kids trespassing on the property. In highschool,a group of friends and I went out there one night and nothing happened. Saw,heard,&felt paranormal things elsewhere, but not there. Oh,and Ghost Road(Railroad bed rd.)in Brooklet has no spirits on it either...just a local legend. Believe me,it's spooky looking, but i've spent a lot of time hunting & riding there & also in highschool we'd jump out with lights & scare hell out've people, but never personally had an experience there.

I live in Albany Georgia, and if you really want to visit a Haunted gravesite,,The 7 churches is the best place I have seen. If you take a camera and take pics of random spots there,You will definately not be disappointed! It is awesome!

I grew up in Statesboro and have MANY times gone and sat on te road in front of this house (my parents taught me better than to trespass). I never once saw a light that wasn't a flashlight of some teenager sneaking in but I did one hear a sound that made my blood run cold...the sound of a shotgun chambering a shell. Don't trespass..it isn't worth your life to find out that there is nothing to this story.

The house is not haunted. Never was, never will be. We used to hide out in the house years ago on Halloween and shine flashlights and make noises to scare the trespassers. The house used to have ornate fixtures and things, but are long gone now thanks to all of the people sneaking in and stealing anything of value. Now the house is in such a condition I wouldn't even try to climb in for fear of falling through the floorboards. It is VERY dangerous at this point, there are no ghosts, and yes we are aware you will try anyway and will be ready to call the cops. Just because no one lives there anymore doesn't mean it gives you the right to enter private property and break the law. Please just look from the road, admire the once beautiful architecture, and be on your way.

This is actually a family home from the original property owned by the Harville family. The property now is sectioned off to relatives. The story of the 2 old ladies is bull. It was orginally built as a 2 room one level home, and was added on to many times later. The family began very poor, like most in that time did, but over the years acquired land for farming, which is still farmed by the same family name to this day. Leave well enough alone and go study.

I am a paranormal investigator from Reidsville, Georgia and if there is still a Harville family member watching this site, would you please contact me at my email address. Since there is so much controversy on this house, I was curious to know if you would mind letting us do an investigation around the house to end all of this controversy.

1.5 million??? You could build about 30 of these houses for cheaper than that must less restore them. You must be referring to a different house. This house is not much more than a shack.
