Hells gate is not haunted. I have been in the house and on the gate multiple times. It’s a fun place to go to. And I even took a dive and walked through the fields. The creepiest and most interesting part of the plantation is around back. They have three graves that are for german shepards. And they have pix of them on the headstones then when you go farther back there are at least six human graves and one of the graves holds six bodies. A very strange plac indeed. It is over by the oxford exchange. Very simple to get it. I know of the road and everything.

hi. ive only lived in the oxford area for about a year and id really like to visit hells gates for myself. i have a rather morbid facination with these things. so if anyone can give me directions. id be very appreciative.

i know y’all might not care but i’m 11 and i live in Alabama near Lakeview’s exit 100 and my house is down in woodland lake rd and at night my computer scares me half to death cause it creepy and my friend Tiffany wont ever sleep in our computer room cause we used to have a bed in here but now we don’t and so i would say u can sleep in the floor or in here and she would say floor and i said why and she said cause i am too afraid of sleeping in there cause its creepy and i said im right there with you and i said im afraid of going in there at night and stuff and my brother used to scare me from saying someone died in my back yard and i said really and he said promise to god and at night i wont even go in my backyard for that reason and last night i was the last one going to sleep and i thought people were in my room and get this Yesturday my door opened by itself i swear i have always believed in ghosts cause when i lived in Vance. if you go there and u got to a church named gods worhip or something like that well there’s a green house not to far from the railroad tracks and stuff i used to live there and i used to see ghosts or spirits walking around my house and then they would vanish well when we first moved there i had no curtains and i never went to sleep i was so scared and i used to see a women hanging out of the chimney and my brother don’t believe in ghost but after this he did he saw lights on his wall and there was no lights on and he was freaked out and its just scary i pass that house everyday to got to my grannies and i get freaked and stuff like that and my house now is just freaky i don’t even go in my parents room at night its so scary i mean i hope y’all never live in a haunted house cause there so scary especially if your a kid like me but my parents like it here so i have to live here for a while

Me and a couple of buddies just got back from searching around this area. First we went to the bridge and got out with flashlights and searched around. Nothing. Besides one thing… Probably a fish but there was a splash behind us right by the bridge. As legend has it, a baby was thrown into the river off the bridge a while ago. I have lived in this area for 16 years. I remember when the house and the bridge were still active. As we continued our little adventure, we went to the house beside the bridge. Everytime we passed it (4 times), we saw nothing. But on the fourth time, taking the same route, just a different direction as before… We saw a spot of blood as we were passing the tree in front of the bottom left window. I shouldn’t say blood because I have no idea what it was, but as we passed the tree, all 4 of us saw handprints and a face. If you have seen Cast Away, the face looked like Wilson. Not trying to be funny, but that’s exactly what we saw. Also, as we passed the 3rd time, I myself, was the only one to think to have seen a shadow. As we passed the fourth time (the same time we saw the blood-looking figure), 2 out of my 3 friends saw the same shadow as I saw as we were passing the 3rd time. This just happend so I’m a little freaked. If you have any information about the blood on the window or shadow, please inform. I have done research on Hell’s Gate, but nowhere has information about the house.

yeahh thissz is very true i almost fell off the bridge beacuase i turnedd offf the liqhts and i heard someone hittinqq the trunk so i turnedd on the liqhts and hitt the acceleartion very fast and i almost went down the bridge!! i wont qo back there anymore !
