Holiday Inn
Built on a cemetery that was thought to be abandoned, corpses have turned up around the building. The building is now thought to be haunted, by the deceased still beneath the foundation. One phenomenon that is noticed is inexplicable loss of power.
Where in Flint is this?

I thought they were talking about the Gateway Holiday Inn in Grand Blanc. I have a friend who has seen some wierd things there, like chairs moving around by themselves or even disappearing, and people standing around and then they are not there.

NOT a Holiday Inn anymore. It was a Holiday Inn express near the main Flint Post office downtown. You folks need to read up on your Flint history. Soon after Auto World and Water Street Pavalion were contructed, they built this Holiday Inn Express. During the course of the basement excavation, they found human remains. They were believed to be Native American. They were moved to a nearby cemetary and that was that, or so everyone thought.

I mean go figger there are corpses in a grave yard what ever next.

Why do people have to be so mean and rude? People on this site are just writing what they believe. If you don’t like what they are saying don’t read it or go somewhere else!!!!
Comment by Angel | 02.16.2006 | 1:00 am
That has to be the best comment so far Angel, if you are not interested in the paranormal side of life, then you shouldn’t even be commenting on this site. leave the people who do believe to enjoy the site!
Besides it make you a very shallow person if you all you can do is take the mick out of other people…how childish!! you wont be going to heaven then! there are many chat rooms to be bitchy!!

This is my first time here, I was looking for haunted houses/hayrides for Halloween. Kid stuff compared to all this. I’ve had a few things happen in the past, but I have tried to put it out of my mind. But it seems I am not the only one. Pretty neat to read others’ stories and experiences. And I must comment, Big Bill is absolutely hilarious!!!!!!! I especially enjoy a laugh at anothers expense!!

Talking of haunted hotels. I stayed in a haunted motel once in Kalkaska MI. Although this event was ten yrs ago, I can remember it like it was yesterday and a movie could’ve been made about the experience I had.
Things turning on/off by themselves at all hrs of the night. Voices, banging, the ghost of a lady for a few seconds at the foot of the other bed, articles taken out of bags, etc. etc..
If you guys want more details let me know… it was one of the most freaky, scary and unusual experiences in my life.

Hey King KFC! Grow up. Jeez, what is your problem. Seriously, you act like you are a child. Why do you come onto this site? Is it just to make fun of people or what? If that is the case maybe you should find a new hobby. Have you ever heard of what goes around comes around. Get a life and act your age. But seriously get a life and stop insulting people.

Hey …
A few ppl have posted requests regarding info about my experience.
Firstly, I was NOT at the Holiday INN in question, my family and I were at a motel in Kalkaska, on our way out to Traverse City.
This experience occured in the mid-90’s however, it was so profound that my memory of it remains very clear.
Unusual things happened in this particual motel room at such a rate that within our stay, they nearly occured one after the other. To this day, I do not know how I/we stayed the night.
- Things taken out of our bags.
- Items moved around the bathroom, within entering/leaving.
- Banging from the Bathroom.
- Lights going on/off by themselves, The shower turning on/off.
- A brief vision of a women, at the foot of the bed
- Voices of a women.
- And more …
Perhaps because it has a lot of history, Michigan seems like a creepy state in some ways. Northen Michigan has always seemed somewhat haunted to me, on the few times I have visited. My motel exerpience was beyond words in terms of haunted!

i’m a very sane woman … all i know is this my father is NOT a believer in ghosts but since we moved into the house that my grandma left us when she died he acts totally different when we talk about crazy things happening …. like we have an attic and up there is a switch connected to a string , but it frayed and broke … unless u go up the stairs walk across the ceiling which niether of us can do we’re both disabled … it comes on and off by it self weekly .. we even have a handyman come check it … its fine he says … when i was taking my dog outside it came on as i stood at the back door i said grandma if thats u turn it off plzz … a few secs later it went off …..

I would like to start by saying KISS MY @$$ to negative, childish people who cant deal with their problems like men and instead take their anger or depression out on making fun of other peoples beliefs. Anyways I thought this site was about the Haunted Holliday Inn in Grand Island, New York anyone have stories on that one.

My Dad grew up off of Hill and Torrey rd in Mundy twp.
There is a abandoned cemetery on hill rd near Ketzlers flowers. When they straightend Hill road years ago they only moved some bodies, but not all of them. And some bodies are still under hill road. You can find out more info at the flint public liabrary. Look for old Hill road Cemetery.(my dad and his friends also found arrowheads in that area which could turn out to be something really old.)

I asked them why they were still hanging around ? & they told me they stay around to scare retards because that’s what dead people do for fun when god isn’t looking . Then I died , I’ll see you tonight !!

chances are the Holiday Inn talked about no longer exsist (the orginial one is the same one Keith Moon from the Who drove his car into the pool on his 21st birthday)…however, that building is long gone and has been moved to the present location on Longway Blvd…if anyone is looking for anymore history of Flint, i suggest getting the book “Through the Years in Genesee, an Illustrated History” by Alice Lethbridge…its a bit dated as far as current events go, but is a good educational book about the very begining of Flint

So….I’ve lived in Burton/Davison my whole life…and I never heard of this. But, the Russelville Ballroom is haunted. It’s on Irish, just before the bmx track/richfield park, in Richfield township, Michigan. My cousin lives across the street from there, and one night we went over there, and seen a whole bunch of crazy stuff….like we seen to old “ghosts” dancing, and when we peered into the door, a plate was thrown by something that wasn’t there…you should put this on this site!!!
Comment by Tiffany | 10.30.2007 | 12:19 pm
This is my first time here & I was hoping to find mature comments from people with information on ghosts. I guess I was wrong! I doubt if I would come back here due to the losers who have nothing else to do except to call others names & be just downright rude! What you do in this life effects the outcome of your next, remember that when you are being an A HOLE!

Brittany Mayner email me with commits angelo_bratt@yahoo.com i am 15 female.
Ok why would you build a hotel on a cematary. That is very rude. Would you want to have died 30yr ago and then a person is building something over you. I think they should never have built the holiday inn over the cematary respect the dead. I think that if the inn is haunted they deservi it because of building it on a cematary. I hope the dead people scare people out of the inn and have there land back and rest in peace.

Located on Robert T Longway and I-4-75 South side.
I took my daughter there and we caught some evps and my gauss meter stayed active all night long. Check it out~but communicate with them. I am lead to believe it was a previous Indian Burial gound.

To everyone who feels they can better themselves by bringing down others:
Honestly, all you are doing is making yourself sound stupid and anal. Everyone has their own beliefs and they do not need the opinion of some jerk that feels like bitching about nothing. There is no point in calling people retarted because they believe in spirits or apparitions.
To everyone else:
I honestly believe in ghosts and apparitions. I myself and friends of mine have had our own experiences. You just need to be open to the idea, I mean, what do you honestly think happens to you after you die? Your spirit has to go somewhere and do something.
I worked in a building last Halloween season for a haunted house called Motor City Massacre, it’s in Roseville on 11 mile and Frazho, I wasn’t aware of the history of the building until I started actually working there, there have been well over 30 deaths in that building alone. And you can definately tell. It’s hard to breath in certain rooms, there are burn marks on the floor where a little girl got caught in a house fire and her body was never found, etc… and if you don’t believe me, check it out later this year.
But I’m done, I know this was a little long, but I felt I had to say something. And I already know that some of you are going to feel differently than me, so don’t bother with your negative comments.

Let me clear up a few things that may help a few people out. The hotel in question is now a hoiday inn express. When it first opened it was a Hampton Inn. It sits on the corner of Robert T. boulevard and I475. If you are traveling on I 475 you can see the hotel. It was built on the former site of the Flint city cemetry. This was a cemetry where they sent the bodies of poor people who’s families could not pay for a funeral. I hope this help thoses of you who are seriously interested in this hotel.
