Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Home Sweet Home

Minot, North Dakota

Now an antique shop, this old four story building is haunted by two ghosts. The first ghost is that of a man who hanged himself in the attic. Now blocked off by a door, the attic constantly has a frigid draft. Also the candy in the room is moved from dusty jar to dusty jar; there are never any fingerprints, however. The other phantom is that of a man that drowned in the river behind the house. At 4:39 AM, the time of the man’s death, it is said that the accident may be witnessed again.

My house is haunted and i have stories of hauntings but i got used to scary stuff like flickering lights and radios turning on by themselves and footsteps but before i was in the shower and i slide the clear slider and i look at it because i feel like something is watching me and so i look at it and i see an old lady staring at me so i run out of there and another is when i woke up at 3:00 am because of footsteps and so i get angry and curse and scream at the noise and then it stops but then seconds later i feel static energy go up against my face it’s like hand on the tv except it’s your face and another is my mom is very religouse so she reads the bible before she goes to sleep and so the door opens and she screams at what she saw as a black figure that was the shape if a little boy and then the little ghost closes the door hard but i dosen’t make a noise so my mom gets scared and takes off the lights and goes to sleep so i know how it feels to get haunted 24 7

Not sure if this has any meaning or not, but–My son and his friend wanted me to drive out to a place I believe near Hunter ND. They said that it was haunted. So to humor them, I hopped in my blazer with them and took the drive. We had an enjoyable ride and when we turned on the rode and approached the driveway, I got this very horrible feeling. I was so stricken by fright that I immediatley turned around and drove away. I have no clue as to why I felt this way. Although my son and his friend was dissappointed they were ok with us returning to Fargo. About a mile and a half from the house, on a perfeclty level-no big rocks–on the road, I got a flat. Mind you these were new tires on my Blazer. So we pull over and look at the tire and it looked shredded. I know i didn’t hit anything as I would have felt it and the shredding was on the sides of the tire not on the tread and no I didn’t drive it up against anything. It looked like it was slashed by a knife. So we got the tire off and for some reason the Blazer was at an angle and we couldn’t ge the spare tire on. To our relief a young man came by and said that he lived nearby and would go and get a better jack. He came back, we got the spare on and I thanked him and jokingly asked for his cell number in case we needed his assistance again. He laughed and gave me his number and left. We loaded the bad tire, jack, and jumped into the vehicle to take off. Problem #2–I tried to start the Blazer and it was totally and completely dead. No I didn’t leave my lights on and we were only there for about a total of a half hour. My son called the young man who had just assisted us and he came back to gives us a jump. We made it home without any further problems. The next day I decided to call the young man and get his full name and address so that I could send him something to thank him for his assistance. I looked up the number on my phone and hit send. When someone answered the phone it wasn’t the young man but an older lady. I asked if she knew who that person was and if she would give me his address so I could send him something. After I had explained what had happened, the lady only stated that this was her phone and no one else had used it. I told her that I had called the young gentleman at this number yesterday around 11 or so. She said that her phone didn’t ring at all last night. So any way, after another few minutes of trying to get the guys name and address I gave up. OK was the older lady BS’s me, did the young man borrow her phone, or what. Why did my brand new tire get so chewed up? And why did my battery die completely. Oh yea and we were a little amazed that someone showed up on this road that was way out in the middle of no where at 11 pm on a school night. You tell me, because I am still floored by it all to this day. ( and don’t say I am a bad parent because I took my son out late. Sometimes you just have to say the heck with it and have some fun with your child, although my fun cost me a new tire)

That is a very interesting story of both a residual and an intelligent haunt all in the same location! I would really like to come investigate the claims there. I believe strongly in the paranormal! I have had many of my own personal experiences that would make your hair stand on end! I am really interested in starting my own paranormal investigation group both to help the families we would investigate for, for our own hard evidence, and for our own personal experience. Please send me the street address of this home to my email.

Went to Tagus, the town is not exactly a “ghosttown” it has homes that are occupied! The homes are decent, sure there are a few left that are shells, but people are all over if you drive threw it. I guy has posted signs, and is living in a camper in front of an old house thats not lived in. The brown house in the center of town is for sale by owner. It was not creepy or scary at all! The cemetary is very small, not scary, its across the street from a beef barn/home. I took some pictures and drove down the main street slowly (did the speed limit) I was followed and watched the whole time by 2 men in a red pick up truck. I waved to them, took a few pictures of the old homes, and left. A complete non event folks! No eerie feelings nothing!

This post is really very appreciable.your post is very advantageous for me and very good.I investigated this site on a couple of different occasions. Also, I was able to visit with the proprietor of the business. She told me that yes an old man drown in the river out back as he was senile and fell down the bank, but never ever have there been any ghostly sightings…no ghosts or ghostly activity.

I have lived in Minot ALL my life, and I have never heard of this story in my entire life. I personally think it’s a load of bull**** but I could be wrong. If anyone knows where this is I’d really like to know.

I believe that my house may be haunted, but at this point in time, there really is no way for me to find out.

Don’t people know how to us a phone book anymore – Home Sweet Home has been there for many years. Turn east at Sammy’s Pizza about a block, it’s on the south side of the road.

Stop spreading rumors! This story is NOT true, Home Sweet Home is a wonderful store and it is NOT haunted. No one ever died in the tower; while a man did die in the parking lot, he wasn’t homeless, he OWNED the building at the time, and died of a heart attack, and he does NOT haunt his former home! Visit the store to shop, not to spread stupid rumors. Sheesh.
