Illinois College
After failing to be accepted into a sorority, a girl committed suicide in her room; that room is now haunted by her ghost. Residents of that room can leave and come back to an unlocked door. The lights, music, television, and curling irons will all be on though they were turned off before. Things move locations or will be missing for a few days without explanation. The television would also turns off randomly while one is watching it.
I am very interested in haunted house’s, hotel’s etc. I alway’s have been.
If there is anyway that you can email me on more of your information on it I would very much appreciate it. I love learning about this type of stuff and dream of one day being able to visit a haunted house or hotel. Thank you.

i am a ghost hunter and i like this story i also live in illinois in anna i and a couple of my friends all hunt ghosts but in my opinion the ghost haunting your house is not threatening , she is just simply in her house, here is a tip try to comunicate with it to understand her ,i try to understand all my ghosts so i can understand why they havent passed over so that in the future they may.

i really really do belive in this becaus,i heard about it and i use to stay in peroia.so i understand it.but the qustion is,why should any one kill them selves over a scholrship to a school.i will be lookin into this.

I attended Illinois College, and so did my parents back in the early 1970s. This story is true, her name was Ellie.

I don’t think all things can be explained when it comes to fear. However, I do think that if ghosts exist, there is a purpose to them. What it is, I do not know. I don’t think they mean to be rude and live in someone’s home without permission. Then again, perhaps WE’RE the one’s being rude and occupying their space. Either way, we just need to dialogue with them so there isn’t a misunderstanding. If you don’t get an answer, tell them to move out. Squatter’s rights.

my televisions done something like that i had it on channel 36 and when i cam baack it was on channel 54 and you will never guess wat they were showing on that channel some ghost stories i found that so weird!!!

oh my gosh! My older sister went to this collage! She said weird things happen there! Once I went to visit her their and she left me and my other sister in the room by ourselves! This guy kep staring at us in the parking lot.

I think just about every college has a ghostly legend or 2. I’m from Tucson, AZ, and supposedly, the U of A here is inhibited by ghosts, too. I’m not saying that these legends aren’t true, I just think it’s funny how whenever I’m reading ghost stories, whether it’s online or in a book, there’s ALWAYS a story about a haunted college. And coincidently, it also always involves a girl who committed suicide!

I attended this college and stayed in the dorm where this girl died (My gf at the time was a student and it was in her dorm). My former gf woke up to find a female ghost floating above her over the bed. The radio would often come on by itself, but it would always play music from the 70s or 80s even though we never left it on any stations that would play music from that time. We were also awakened by her hair dryer turning on by itself.
We were told that this girl did not kill herself over a society… she instead became ill and died in her room over one of the holiday breaks. There is a memorial plaque on one of the doors.

I have heard about Illinois College. I live few blocks away from Illinois College. I have few friends who attends there. They did heard lots of students talking about it. When some girls who live in dorm. Their television turned on while they were sleeping. They heard some whispers. Some girls saying that when they were in shower and they heard toliet has been flushed so they went check it out and there was nobody. U guys should check out on Illinois School for the Deaf, building is called Main Building has some weird stuffs going on and some dorms, other buildings. I can tell that Jacksonville have lots of histories. Towndown, Library, old houses, Illinois school for the deaf, and Illinois College. You guys should come and visit some histories down here. Amazing!!
