Like I mentioned before my dad has been studying this story for a long time and would know alot more about everything then I would. In fact he is even planning (may have even started already) on writing a book about it. Another interesting tidbit about this story is that the little girl who witnessed the two men actually died in the 1889 Johnstown flood.

Ladies and Gentlmen… i frikkin LIVE in johnstown… Yeah it’s creepy as all hell and its boring beyond all belief but i have never heard of this story… if you really want a good story out of johnstown i would look up Becky’s grave.

There has been tons of tragedy in johnstown over the years. There are areas that are active, there are areas said to be that are not.(no kidding)I wish all the stories were true but a small part of me is truely glad some are not. Growing up and still living in Johnstown I have heard them all. I’ve even chased most of the stories myself. I have never seen any evidence of the miners from that explosion….I hope with all my heart they are at rest, or at least they finally got that coffee break the boss promised them. All joking aside there are several active spots worth checking out, Roxbury Park, the empty Steel Mills, the remains of the South Fork Dam. Make sure you get permission but they’re worth looking into….trust me.

To all of you non believers who say there are no mine shafts in that hillside by the Inclined Plane, just let me say that I was born and raised in Johnstown and you will see no mine shafts because they were sealed after the mine explosion. If you don’t believe there was an explosion, or a mine; try looking up Rolling Mill Mine Explosion July 10, 1902, Johnstown, PA on the internet, that should straighten up any confusion. As far as ghosts, all I can say is I’ve had my share of unexplained happenings in Johnstown. Happy Ghost Hunting.

I’ve lived in Johnstown my whole life, I’ve had experiences but I had never seen a ghost until this pne day. My friend and I were on our way to school, an as we passed the point stadium/ incline plane trail we noticed a man (his back turned towards us) wearing a red flannle shurt, carrying I guess a pail? I don’t know. We laughed and thought, what the heck is he doing on the trail at 7am? Well, I told my dad about it because I just thought it was odd. That’s when he told me the story of the haunted trail. I seen the man clear as I could see any person. Was it a ghost? I still wonder…
