I have heard of this story all my lfe and have drove under this bridge more than once and alway’s with friend’s. We have been during different time’s of the year and in all types of weather. I have NEVER seen ANYTHING but that doesn’t mean she has not been seen by other’s. I was alway’s told that her house was in High Point on Centennial Dr. but no one could ever say if that information was true or not. I am not someone who believe’s in ‘SPOOKS’. That could be why I have never seen Lydia standing on the side of the road.

why be afraid of a ghost? a ghost is just a dead creature that used to be alive. A human ghost used to be alive too, they just died after that.

OK! A hillbilly from WV…. sounds interesting. Well, know one will ever know if the story is true or not. My mother’s uncle was one of the people who have “claimed” to pick her up, and even being my Uncle, I still have doubts. His story has been told to our family for years. I used to live in Greensboro. Spent A LOT of happy times and years there. When I was going to school there, I would sometimes go down that way on my way home in the evenings from my part time job. Creepy as hell and would never ride with my windows down. Never saw anything but just felt really scared and eerie. You knew something was there even though you couldn’t see it. My last summer there before moving to England, I drove that way around 1.00 AM. I got finished hanging out at the IHOP and drove that way coming home. When I got closed to the Ragsdale/Jamestown area, I got really scared, I mean extremely jumpy. After I passed, I felt better.

These are all peoples imagination getting carried away it is common for people to hear a story then everytime they hear hear or see something their imagination takes over just like the brown mountain lights they trails on that mountains so could it be people riding off road vehicle with their lights on I have been up there day and night and never seen anything but people and deers

I know this story is true from personal experience. Me and my buddy J-Bird were driving on that bridge. We saw a lady on the side of the road and picked her up. I asked her if her name was Lydia and she said no it was Candy. She then told us for fifty bucks she would take care of me and J-Bird. She ended up drinking all our beer and put a couple of cigarette holes on my seats. We dropped her off at a gas station and poof she was gone. I have her thong as proof and the doctor says I’ve got a spooky case of herpes now. Scary ain’t it.

i live in james town,nc so this story tot freaks me out!!!!!!plus,my gradpa saw the ghost when he was 17!!

I just to jamestown with my husband and he wanted to go for a walk to see the old bridge it was quite interesting and yet at the same time scary it was like someone was trying to hold us back from being there super weird. Ghost stories dont scare me but for some reason this one did.
