I’ve been out there once.. had 2 other people with me. Nothing happened, took a lot of pictures, got nothing. There is a house RIGHT next to this place though.. so I’d advise people to be quiet, they could call the police and have you escorted out. NOT FUN.. haha Might try going back though, still a fun place!

I have lived in greentown all my life and have been to the jerome cemetary on several occasions. There is no caped man or dogs with red glowing eyes that I have ever seen. Just stories from bored kids who live in a tiny town with no entertainment. I do have to say though there is something creepy about the cemetary. You feel like you are being watched and followed as you get to the back of the cemetary. There are alot of old graves and the cemetary is pretty well hidden and surrounded by trees. Is it haunted? I don’t know but I will say there is definately something that makes me want to run from the back of the cemetary every time I am there.

My brother, his fiance, and I all decided to go visit Jerome one evening. Expecting that all of the tales of paranormal activity to be false, of course. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a paranoid feeling of being watched, but that’s not unusual to any graveyard in general. We got out of the car and headed straight for the back, older, more decayed part of the cemetery where headstones have been smashed and people are buried very closely together. Unfortunately, we only had one flashlight with us, so we didn’t get to see very much on the way to the back of the cemetery. After exploring for a bit, and seeing nothing, we mutually decide to head back to the front of the cemetery where the car was parked. As we were walking we saw an orb trace the lining of the ground and bounce twice before disappearing into a grave. It was a perfect circle of light. Our first thought is that this ten-second phenomena was created by our flashlight reflecting off of the headstones. After a few minutes of us trying to recreate the sphere of light and failing to make any progress, we decided that it was indeed an orb. After having seen that, we decided to stay close to the car, just in case we needed to make a quick get-away if something should occur. We begin to hear screaming.. A woman to one side of the woods and a child screaming, “NO! MOMMY!” on the other side of the woods. I attempted to record the sound on my phone, but was unsuccessful. We heard an angry growling approaching us from the side of the woods that we heard the woman screaming and we decided that we had had enough and left.
No, we didn’t see a dog or a hooded figure, but what we did see was pretty extraordinary.

A few months later, we gathered the courage to return to Jerome to see if anything would occur, but as expected nothing happened.
I am not sure why we had activity the first night and not the second. I think that it has something to do with energy.

Ok, I live in a small town about ten minutes away from Jerome. I will say this to all of you. There are those who believe, and those who don’t. But I know what I saw that night that I was out there for the first time, and that was before my friends decided to tell me the stories. I saw no dog, but I did see a man standing there looking straight at us with pure hate in his face, and I saw a group of small children standing on the bridge. I also saw a man walking through the town with what looked to be a small bag. I don’t like that town at night. I would go there during the day but never alone, cause even then it feels weird. The town I live in now I don’t like going outside at night.

Me and all my girls went out to jerome cemetery last night..6/22/10 we went in drove once around and left, came back minutes later we heard a dog bark but just thought it was one of the surrounding neighbors dogs hearing us scream and being scared, so me and one of the girls got out to take pictures and look around, i had take 3 pictures, after the last my friend had see something flash back but i just thought it was my camera reflection, when i ran back to the car and we were leaving i checked the pictures the first 2 were pitch black no tomb stones nothing! The the 3rd picture there is 1 main demend, 1 underneath it and millions every where else and still no tomb stones, the first thing that came to my mind was to grab my girls hands and statred praying immediantly at the time i seen those pictures i was already bawling my eyes out!i will never go back there or any haunted places again! If you want to see the picture email me and i will send it to you. Trust me and god. Dont do it

I live in kokomo and have recently heard a great deal of stories about Jerome. A friend of mine said he and a group of people went out there on night around 2 am. They did the 666 and got out. They heard screams coming from a distance thaty grew closer and closer until it was right in their ears. They decided to leave and one guy said he didnt feel well so he pulled over. Hew vomited, and collapsed. At the nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead and the preist was reading his last rights as he threw up and came to with no memory of what had happened to him. They procceded to the nearest catholic church, and went in and explained to the preist what had happened. He locked the doors after ushering them inside, dousing them in holy water and reading prayers over them, something seemed to be shaking the doors. When they looked at the preist he was reading the exorsism of David. I honestly believe this happened. And the story of Jerome is that a little boy was possessed by a demon and decided one Sunday to board the church up with all members inside and burn it to the ground, killing everyone and him. The graves are in a pentagram shape inside the hollow, with the little boys grave outcast from the rest, just inside the woods. And remember, if you go looking for evil, more than likely, it will find you.

I have heard the spooky stories of Jerome, I was alsways told that the haunts of the cemetary is by a man and his dog, the man was walking his dog when he was hit and killed by a car. So what I was always told was that you can hear dogs howling and can see the old mans light. Me and my friends had went and as we pulled up into the cemetary it was quite and creepy, once we got into the circle of teh cemetary we heard dogs start to howl, but when we pulled out of the circle the noise ceased…. we had rolled down all our windows and parked and turned off the car, my friends had seeen a dark figure standing behind the car, that is when we left. The things i know about the town though is they had used to do animal and human sacrafices, they have since burned down the church. When we were driving down by the winding roads, its creepy being surrounded by all trees, but i swear even there i heard something right by our drivers side door. I have even been told of two kids who went to summon spirits for fun out in the woods, and ever since they have been gone. Honestly this lace gives me the creeps and my friends want to go at devils hour 3am, on halloween morning, who knows maybe teh magic will happen, maybe they will never be seen again.

This all cracks me up. I grew up walking distance from there, attended the Jerome Christian church and visited that cemetery all the time. Still do. Just there before Halloween, cleaning off the grave stones, meeting curious people. This one couple swore the ground was moving! Pretty sure it was just where the moles had been. :) come out for a visit!

by the way, the church was not burned down. We outgrew the church and bought some land down the road around the corner and built a new one.The old church was bought by a farmer who fenced in the land and raised animals there for awhile but people obsessed with the occult started vandalizing the church and animals. It was torn down. A far as stories go, we were told someone was hung from the bridge around the corner long long ago, and a child drown too. But I played there as a child and we always cared for the cemetery, trying to fix the toppled stones and tons of beer cans from partiers. Perhaps the devil dog was my friend and I riding our horses up the banks of the creek in the 80′s trying to scare them! Just stories! And driving around a circle 3 times is more like OOO than 666.But it is a beautiful historic place, just don’t vandalize it.

yea I don’t think people will want to vandalize a cemetery that freaks you out like none other lol. and I have never been told about kids drowning or anything. the very original story I heard was a these four kids in a car where traveling past jerome cemetery and they said they saw a dog on a hill with red eyes looking at them and they hit the brakes. then immediately a deer jumps in front of there car. and once they take there eyes of the dog and look back the dog is gone. so they think that the dog saved them from hitting the deer. I have no clue how this relates with jerome cemetery or how this story became the original but thats what I found.

A few of us went out to the cemetery there in Jerome. It was very dark and quiet and yes there was a dog barking, but there is a dog that lives around there. We didnt see any dog with red eyes but we did get the strong feeling someone was out there and we did hear alittle girl laugh. We used a ghost radar and got some strange readings. We do plan on going back out there for further research.

remember there is a house that is less than 50 yards from the cemetery. the girl might of came from the house. and of course your going to get the feeling someone is out there, your in a cemetery.

me and my family took a drive by there one day around sunset. we were driving down the road almost to the curve right before the cemetery and saw a large black dog laying in the road at first i thought it was injured because it didnt move but then it looked up at our vehicle.it acted very awkward and just seemed to stare right through us. after a good 3 or 4 minutes of it just sitting there unaffected by the car we finally honked the horn and revved the engine trying to scare it out of the way. it slowly got up and finaly walked off to the side of the road and we drove on. we had just made it past the cemetery when i yelled “there it is again!” it appeared to be the exact same dog but on the other side of the cemetery. we laughed and said thats impossible he couldnt have ran over here that fast. at that time i had never heard the story but a week later i was reading my Haunted Indiana book and read the story of the jerome devil dog. i was mortified when i realized i had seen him.
