i think i've been there before with my friends. down wisner road, passed the bridge. we went down and parked by the woods and walked through. creepy stuff. we even put the baby powder on the back of our bumper when we went to cross the bridge again. turned off the car on the bridge and it rolled. theres no slant on the bridge so it was legit. got freaked out, we all went home, and checked the bumper for baby prints the next morning and they were there. no joke.

Hah. Went there tonight. Did Wisner Rd. Stopped on crybaby bridge and me and my buddy got out. Walked around on the bridge. Nothing happened, but we did both seem to hear a strange growling noise off in the distance so we got back in, after a couple minutes my friend got out, and walked around again but after hearing a louder noise, booked back to the car and took off. On the way out, a raccoon crossing the street scared the living bejesus out of us.

We used to live near Lake County, and we'd hike through Chapin Forest and around Buttermilk Falls in the Lake Metroparks. It's a really beautiful place, and so creepy. I wouldn't want to be out there at night. Kirtland is definitely weird. All these stories plus the freaky Mormon settlement that was there make it a unique place in America to explore. Lots of woods for monsters and ghosts to hide in!

My dad grew up in Kirtland, I also lived in Kirtland from 1981 till about 2000. The rumors are just that, rumors. When my dad was growing up they used to go "melon head hunting". My dad and his friends NEVER saw or heard a thing. I used to go there alot also. There was a natural spring called Boot Leg Joe. How it got the name, I do not know. Wisner road runs from King Memorial to Chardon road. It used to be a complete road until the river washed some of it away. I have gone to the housed down at the ends of the roads and talked to the people who live there. They have never experienced anything. Oh, the witches grave is the grave of a man named Levi I believe. Been awhile since I have been there. And lastly, the Lundgrens are a different story for a different web site. I went to school with the oldest son Damon. I guess you could say we were best friends then. Such a shame he allowed his father to ruin his life like that. He was a good kid. Oh well.....

For the record folks this story has been going around since I was in Jr. in Mentor. I am now 39, The Lundgren murders were long after this "folktale started" A friend of the family owns this supposed melon head property... some versions say the dr. performed abortions, some say he kept deformed patients, that supposedly set the house on fire and escaped...regardless melon head country along with melon head hunting is just a reason for the teenagers to go out get drunk and scare the hell out of each otheran
