King’s Tavern
Natchez, Mississippi
By Lisa
King’s Tavern in Natchez, is the home of the legend of Madeline, and is one of the few mid-18th century buildings still standing in Mississippi. Today, it is a restaurant.
Historical records show that under Richard King this building became a tavern in 1789, which served travelers on the way to Nashville, TN.
The spirit of Madeline is a mystery, however she does make her presence known through appearances, playing with faucets, moving objects and opening/closing doors throughout the tavern.
