Real Haunted House

Kreischer Mansion

Staten Island, New York

The Kreischer family once owned and operated a brick factory that supplied most the bricks for the Staten Island area in the 1800s. With their profits, they built two large mansions-one for the original family, and another for their son, and his wife. The second home, which was built far from the main road, suspiciously burned down, taking both the son’s and his wife’s lives. Prior to the burning of the home, a feud had erupted between the son and his father, for which there was no reconciliation. It is said that the home is now haunted by the son and wife, with apparitions appearing, banging noises, and doors slamming on their own. The house has since been converted into a restaurant.

I was wondering if they are going to let the public take a tour inside the Kreischer mansion . the house looks so cool from the ouside it must be amazing to see up close and personal. I live in Tottenville , everytime i pass the house i can’t help but look. I was also wondering who owned the house and do they live threre?

IVE PASSED THIS HOW MANY A TIME DRIVING BY JUST CRUISING THE ISLAND LATE AT NIGHT WITH MY FRIENDS. FROM THE ROAD AS WE DROVE BY WE ALWAYS SAW LIGHTS ON AND WHAT SEEMED TO BE FIGURES OF PEOPLE LOOKING DOWN AT US. SO ONE NIGHT WE ALL MADE A PLAN TO ACTUALLY GO UP THE HOUSE N LOOK IN THE WINDOWS TO SEE IF WE SAW ANYTHING UNUSUAL. MIND YOU I WENT WITH ABOUT 9 PEOPLE OR SO, SO WE WERE IN 3 CARS OUT OF THE NINE MYSELF AND TWO OTHERS WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO WAS BRAVE ENOUGH TO GO UP THERE AND LOOK. WE WALKED UP TO THE GATE WHICH AT THE TIME LOOKED LIKE A CAR HAD CRASHED INTO IT BUT FROM THE INSIDE NOT THE OUTSIDE LIKE SOMEONE WAS STUCK INSIDE AND TRYING TO GET OUT BUT ANYWAYS WE WALKED UP TO THE HOUSE THERE WAS A CAR PARKED ON THE FRONT LAWN THAT YOU COULD NOT SEE FROM THE ROAD. AS WE LOOKED IN THE WINDOWS WE SAW NOTHING THE HOUSE WAS TOTALLY EMPTY MY ONE CRAZY FRIEND WAS BRAVE ENOUGH TO GO UP ON THE PORCH N LOOK IN THE WINDOW WHILE ME AND MY OTHER FRIEND REMAINED ON THE LAWN I WASNT SCARED OF GETTING CAUGHT BY COPS OR ANYHTING LIKE THAT I JUST FELT A PRESENCE AND I DIDNT WANT TO BE TO CLOSE TO IT SO AFTER THAT WE HAD WALKED BACK DOWN AND LEFT. THERE IS ALSO A SIDE PATH IN THE WEEDS LIKE BEHUND THE HOUSE THAT LEADS TO A BARN OR SHED WE DID NOT GO THERE IT WAS WAY TO DARK BUT THAT WAS BY FAR THE SCARIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE

This is for sue, I believe in what you believe too. I’ve been on Staten Island my whole life and me and my friends used to have a book about haunted Staten Island and we used to try and go to all the places but a lot are hard to get to or into. I also have a great interest in this and want to know all about the supernatural. You aren’t alone.

I’ve recently read an article about this home. I was immediately fascinated with its history. A few days ago I drove by the mansion with my son. We both sat in the car in awe of its beauty. I would love to see the home’s interior. Are there any groups that give tours in old mansions and historical homes on the island. We moved here two years ago and I love this stuff!!!! :)

On 2/04/09, me and a few friends went to go see the mansion. we went through the gates to get a closer look. There was a red light upstairs on, and a porch light on. Also, the top floor had a light on. As we got closer, about 5 deer ran out from in front of the house. It really scared me half to death. But as we got even closer, one of my friends slipped because it was snowing. When she fell, she dropped a few things including her house keys which we went back the next day and found them. But anyways, I would love to see the inside of the house. Even pictures if possible. Anyone? Thanks.

I am friends of the family of Robert Mc Kelvey, the last person to perish by the hands of the last caretaker, & psycho-path, Joseph Young. This family is distraught with answers as the Ct. date for the Monster, “Young”, shortly approaches. Being an “englighted” one, the name CHEECH or TEACH continually is summoning to me…This is my 1st experience of such place, event or details. Anyone with any, authentic & serious answers to either of these (2) names/words, please feel free to post & contact me at your earliest convenience. Peace, Light & Blessings~ Thank you.

To Whom It May Concern,

I caught this thread online and have been trying to find contact info for the Kreischer Mansion.

I work for Home Box Office and we are currently scouting locations for a new television series titled Boardwalk Empire.

Boardwalk Empire focuses on crime and prohibition in 1920’s Atlantic City and stars STEVE BUSCEMI (Armageddon, The Sopranos, The Big Lebowski.) The series will be produced and the pilot will be directed by MARTIN SCORSESE (Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The Departed.)

If we shot at the Kreischer Mansion we would fully insure the owners, plus pay location fees based on how much time we would need to occupy the space.

If you have questions or know how I could get in touch with the owners please call me @ 917/270-2950 to make an appointment.

Thank you very much for your time and interest.
Sincerely,

Jason Minter

I was in the Mansion twice. First time was about three weeks ago and second time was last week. Nice old house, original interior. Not scary at all. Actualy it was around 5-6pm, pretty dark. Walked in every room including the basement. Reason for second time is it was too dark to take a good look at the interior. It is very cool, a lot of wood moldings and very detailed. The owner must spent a fortune to build this house. What I liked about this house is it doesn’t have that old house stinky smell. By the way, I went inside the sheds in the back of the house too. A couple of old bicycles and ****. There is a shooting range/paintball area not far from the mansion, so people do not get scared when you hear noises:).

Sorry to tell everyone, but it is abandoned now. This house is where the mafia cut bodies up. Who wrote this? My uncle in the DEA worked on the case.
Something scary is that there is movement in the upstairs bedroom.I’ve been in there, and ALOT of activity happend in front of my face.

We went out there about 4 months ago, my friend threw a beer can up towards the porch, we thought we heard front door open, so we ran… when we got to the car, we saw that a beer can had been smashed – against the hood of the car, it left a deep scratch/dent – and left on the roof of the car!!

I’m starting work on a screenplay about the Kreischer family, the haunted Mansion, the B. Kreischer and Sons brick manufactory, and related topics such as the German Lutheran Church, the Steinway Piano Company that Balthzar bankrolled, the African American oystermen, the Italian and Hugarian workers in the brickworks, the labor unrest (an important topic), and related topics.

I need any and all information that anyone has about these topics. You can contact me at fyrstbyt@hotmail.com and 440-522-0003.

In advance, thanks for your help.
