LOOK into the history of Marion N>C> and you will find out that a young woman did die in the lake in the early 1920's! Her father worked at Marion Manufacturing Company and her boyfriends father owned the Coca Cloa Plant in Marion. Her father hated her boyfriends family and forbade her in seeing him. That did not stop them from seeing each other while her father was at work. One day her father was told she was riding around town with this boy. He flew into a rage got into his car found them. He demanded her to get out of the car, but instead, her boyfriend floored his car. A chase pursued and the father chased them from Marion to the road leading to Lake Tahoma. In the winding curves, the boy lost control of his car and it plunged into the lake, killing both teens! This is all documented history of the town! Their obituarys are in the old newspaper archives at the library Thats what really occured

The story is very true about the girl jumping from the dam. I have heard about the keys story as well. 1st thing it is only on here prom date, 2nd there was a full moon on that night so it has to be a full moon on that same date, and 3rd you don't leave your real keys on the top of the car. You use an old set of keys that are useless to anyone. Now start looking into the Carson House Haunting!

And just HOW do YOU know that you're the one who is telling it right? It's an urban legend dumb***! I'm sure it has changed a little over time. So unless you were there when it happened, stop bitching and telling everybody they are telling it wrong. Who's the jerk now Anon? And for the record a dam is to hold water, and damn is a curse word. Thank You

This is not what has been taught locally about this legend.
To my understanding it was something about a girl and her date and the prom yes, but it involved placing a rose on the hood of the car and honking the horn. Keep to the facts and don't post nonsense even if the subject is a mystery. Soemone has even now posted the tale incorrectly on wiki. Jerks...

alright so my mom has been telling me this story since i was a kid, i grew up like 20min from lake tahoma and the story that i was told goes a little differently bc it did interest me more than this one, supposedly the girl found out she was pregnant a few nights b4 prom and then decided to tell her boyfriend about the pregnancy, he wasnt thrilled obviously, so on prom night he took her to the dam he told her it would be romantic place for them, back then supposedly u could walk out and look over the dam, so he took her to the middle where he had a rose waiting for her, as she reached for the rose he pushed her into the dam... supposedly ur supposed to go to the middle of the dam, dont think it has to be prom nite, take a rose and she will appear

doesnt sound that "scary" i have turned the lights off and ran the water a billion times to find nothing of the legend bloody mary. so, taking a coupld steps around a car and losing your keys sounds like something that wouldnt really frigten me?! besides this has nothing to do with prom or anything of the sort. Where are the scary hauntings that happen in the movies?
