Real Haunted House

Leave Me Alone!

Muncie, Indiana

There is a historical building where a women, who was pregnant, lived with her husband. Her husband was abusive and beat her hard and often. One day she stood in the middle of the drive and slit one wrist. Before she died she said “Jeff, leave me alone!” Right down the road is a tree that hangs over the road and once in a while you’ll see her and her little baby happy on the limb.

No truth to the suicide or the haunting.

You want us to believe she comitted suicide (while pregnant) then came back as a happy ghost?

This story sounds like a crock– what does the phrase “leave me alone” have to do with the haunting that is supposed to go on?

And what is this “happy on the limb”? Are they happy hanging? Are they sitting on the limb, happy to be dead?

Well not so much a comment but i have couple places that are haunted over where I live at. On is in Knightstown,Indiana it’s called the Pest house and i was driving by it one day their was little boy at the bottom of the house in the front living room then i looked at the top of the house where a window was in the attic and the same boy was their in matter of seconds. And another is on 1000n and it’s called cry baby bridge and if you go their at midnight you will here a baby cry. And if you go on friday 13 on full moon you’ll here the baby and blood will splater from up above.

Ashley says:

September 15, 2006, 1:33 pm

This story seems highly made up. Unless the spook has been crossed over she wouldn’t be happily sitting on a limb just chilling. Anyways, If someone can not tell you where something is then it can’t be proven. At any rate there are a couple of really awesome places in Anderson and around the area in Mad county. I started a page on myspace dedicated to Madcountyspooks. Im going to put some pictures up and the storys to go along with them when i get time.

I’ve read the story. I’ve lived in indian all my life. I’m less than 30 minutes away from muncie, my mom ran muncie growing up and we know several people over there. I’ve never heard this tale. But it fits right in with the rest of the stories from around these parts. Take ridgville wich is said to be built in the shape of a pentagram. Or the house in the woods near muncie, that if you go to it late at night every light in the house will come on. And the walls run red with blood. I know that house… can’t rember how to get there though. I had a cousion that lived near it growing up, the story that is told is that several murders took place in that house. I’ve seen it in the light and no thiers nothing hooked up that can cause that, and have also been there at night. Then theres the graveyard neer ridgville that is haunted and supposable in the middle of this graveyard is a creek with a bridge over it. The story goes that years ago a man murdered his wife and unborn child by pushing them off the bridge and drowning them. They say that if you go to the bridge at night sometimes you’ll see the woman, and that in the creek where she died is her wedding ring, but that if a man tries to retreave the ring something grabbs him and drowns him. I’ve heard every story around here. Ghost hauntings is a passion of mine, and i’m always interested in finding real ones. However to this date there is only two that I have been able to veriffy. And one of them I never ever speak of.

Okay, to the person who said she could leave him….maybe she was really poor or something and no one could back her up if she left him. Besides, from what I hear, if you have an abusive boyfriend, it’s hard to break up with him. He can beat you up! As for the people who say it’s not real….we know!!! It’s just really fun to read scary stories, like fiction!
….No offense, people!

I have to say that I am absolutely amazed at how ignorant and and/or stupid some of the people are that post on this site. First of all, PLEASE use spell check; get hooked on phonics. Secondly, don’t even bother wasting seconds/minutes of someone else’s life – unless you have something useful to say. Geez!

I go to school in muncie and I have heard this story several times before, I think it would be cool to check out. There is also a great story about a room on the 8th floor of lafollette (BSU.) My friends and I tried to check it out once, but of course they wont let students in, although an RA did say no one has lived there since a girl killed herself.

tbird says:

January 4, 2008, 3:27 am

I’ve lived in Muncie 12 years and have never heard this story. No offense, but the odd details actually make it less believable. If you know where the historical building is located, it is possible to determine if a suicide took place there. A little research starting with deeds/titles…Then court documents, police reports, censuses, obits, etc. could at least tell you if a ‘Jeff’ ever resided there….

i live in muncie,IN. i have all my life.
i have always been since a child, a fan of paranormal and as much as i’d love any ghost story to be true, i’m also a scientific, rational person.

Unfortunatly i have to inform you all that this story is not true, at least the ghost part. I’m not saying there wasnt a woman in this town somewhere at some point in time who slit her wrist but i have never heard such story and likely few residence here have either, but this story as posted is about as vague as it gets, however there no such ghost exists in any of the historical buildings here in muncie. I dont know who made it up, likely a local but it doesnt exist. There are mild hauntings in local houses here though.

It’s just a story. It’s just a story because there are no newspaper or police information. You are very naive if you just automatically believe this. Grow up, learn critical thinking skills and think for yourself. For me, there is no evidence that this is a true story. That, and the fact that there have never been any scientifically verifiable proof of the existence of ghosts, leads me to believe that this is fiction.

Look I have lived in Muncie for 9 yrs and i have never heard of this dumb story from anyone and i should know about if its true cause i work with the elderly and they love to talk about the past and history, trials and tribulations that have happend. None of them ahs spoken about this soposse scandalise act. So if your gonna right about ghost hauntings then maybe you should do your research and check out Muncie Historic District where many house are haunted like the Old Hospital on South Council Street. Use to be apartments but was soon abandon cause of the fact tenants couldnt reside there for the spirits who claimed the building before them first….

1) This story is not true
2) i attended ball state after a long family tradition and now my roommate also attended bsu as well as her parents and sister.
3)there are some places on campus that are haunted–laffotte(sp) and also there is a room in the library were people arent allowed either because a guy supposedly hung himself. I cant say that i trully believe it but i know that while i was at bsu some friends got in trouble for trying to get onto the 8th floor. but as for this story there is no links to external sources, the tree down the road little ways from the house was there a white picked fence too? so anyways… i am done with my rantings…and for those who post on here and say to get a life—my question is why are you posting?

I’m from Indy…There is a bridge in Avon that is haunted. My aunt, 3cousins and I went to, ithink, cry baby bridge. It is the story about the worker that fell into the cement while working and is still in the bridge. The most common experience was the sight of a woman looking for her child that was dead and or the sound of a child crying and seeing a tear on the dryest nights hit the ground infront of you. Well we went to the bridge and did not see the mother and did not here the child. But I am sencetive to paranormal activity and thats why they braught me. I felt the presents of someone and soon after there was a big droplet that fell in front of me. When we got in my aunts brand new detailed car there was a mans dirt boot print. It was not there when we got in and all of us had small feet and flip flops on. It was a trippy night. Fun.

Sarah says:

April 25, 2010, 1:07 pm

Okay, people. There is no way this can be true. I live less than 15 minutes from the south side of town, and the closest to having a haunted house in our area is in Farmland.

Patricia Anderson says:

April 30, 2010, 10:59 am

Ok then sarah you are trying to tell me that me and 4 other people are wrong … i don’t think so….I have had plenty of paranormal activity in my life…there is a house on the east side on emerson that is now vacant. It stands next to an old creepy house. I use to live there…There was one room my mom and i would not enter because the carpets were blood red and there was always a presents when in there. One night when it was only my mom and i the doors started opening and closing , the windows slammed shut and out of nowhere it stopped that night we left and never went back. That house was never reported haunted and yet i had a huge experience so don’t tell me the only place close is that farm place because the paranormal is all around us…indy is full of good haunts you just have to know where to look… anyone want to here more places that i have experienced crazy things let me know…

Patricia Anderson says:

April 30, 2010, 11:21 am

Okay Sarah, you seem to be a very close minded person. If you think that that is the closest place in Indy that has paranormal activity you are mistaken. I have had experiences all my life ranging from voices to objects moving and seeing things over and over again that I canΓ’??t explain. In the 90Γ’??s I lived in a house on the east side on emerson that stands next to an old creepy house. My mother father and I had lived there about 2 weeks. There was one room in the house that my mother and I would not enter. The room always had a sad cold feeling to it and it had blood red carpet. One night my mom and I were at home alone watching tv and out of nowhere the doors started opening and closing, the windows slammed shut and the tv turned off. Me and my mom left the house that night and never went back. That house is now vacant. That was never documented as a haunted house but me and my mom know it is. Paranoral is all around us and for you to think that the closest place is in farm land, you are wrong. If anyone wants to here more storys about my findings in the past 11 yrs. I will be more than happy to share. :)

Sounds like an anime to me or a fictional ghost novel or movie. You know, a pregnant lady is murdered by her husband or someone psycho killer or commits suicide to escape her abusive. Then, the hero kills her killer or the person who drove her to suicide & she appears before the hero, baby in arms, to thank them before departing. Then they appear again sitting in a random place, like a tree, happily with baby still in arms, enjoying afterlife.

Then she appears, baby in arms, before the hero an thanks them before disappearing or passing over, only to appear in the ending credits sitting in a sakura(cherry blossom) tree, with her baby still in her arms, seeming to enjoy the afterlife.
