Liberty Theater
This theater is supposedly haunted by a woman, who spends most of her time lurking in the woman’s bathroom. The theater was closed in 1998.

My Friend and I were watching a movie once and he reached for his popcorn in the seat next to him and it was freezing cold, and he saw a gohst’s haze next to him and he ran out. But the theater has been reopened for plays.

Oh my friend said she passed out in the bathroom and when she woke up the ghost was unzipping her pants and humming the theme song to Rocky, after a few minutes of being fondled by the spirit she ran out of the bathroom and rarely goes back.

The theatre was closed in 1998 for renovation. It re-opened in 2002. There is another ghost reputed to also haunt the theatre. He’s known to the locals as Handsome Paul, who purportedly wears a suit & was a pimp who murdered one of his ladies–who is the restroom restless spirit aforementioned–by throwing her off the theatre balcony when she apparently decided to leave his employ. Nice guy. Makes some decide to remain single…

i have lived in the seaside-astoria area all my life. ihave heard of several haunted places around, but i think if you want to have your best bet, go to battery russel at night and wander around the old hillside bunkers and many cavernous spots. i dont recall any reports of sightings, but many noises and temp variances. i know several people who have witnessed the ghost at liberty theatre and a few who have also witnessed events at the flavel house.

I went to a meet and greet ( with the actors from The Goonies) yesterday at the Liberty theater. Every picture I took didn’t turn out. One had Sean Astin engulfed in flames. Another had Richard Donner with a flowing red thing on the left of him and a skeletal claw hand on the right side of him.
None of which were there when I took the picture. I showed the owner and
she told me that she thought it was the ghosts. Another theater worker said the theater was haunted and that the ghosts were in the picture! The
pictures will not upload to the computer. All my other photos uploaded.
But these wouldn’t!

Its open now. It has been for the last 5 or 6 years. They closed it when they renovated it.

RE: The Ft. Stevens Ghosts
I own a house in Hammond, very near Ft. Stevens that is supposed to be haunted. I’ve felt the presence and had a latched door open. One of my tenants was told by a woman to get off the couch and got to bed (he was alone), and a visitor asked me if I knew the house was haunted. My new wife is unaware of all this; I don’t want to tell her and scare her.

I am the current janitor of the Liberty Theater and I can honestly say that yes it is haunted but it’s not that creepy. I hear noises all the time and have actually had the lights go out while in the lower lobby which you could say is part of the basement and heard a womans voice behind me

The Flavel house is haunted, it was like at 11 at night, my family and i were driving by cause they just picked me up from the airport in Portland and we were driving home. I looked out the window, i don’t know why but it felt like something was drawing me to look at it. I look at the bay windows were Mrs. Flaval like to watch the ocean to see if she could she her husbands ship (or at least that was what i was told). A older looking lady was staring at me, she was in a victorian styled dress. It was the weirdest thing that i have ever seen, i asked if anyone else in the car saw her,(cause i was tired, it was like 11 at night we were all tired) they said “no”. But later that night my sister comes up to me and says “Clare i think i saw her, Mrs. Flavel”. i told some of my friend i go to school with most of them saw Mrs. Flavel one time or another.I always look at that spot when we are driving through, I didn’t see her again or least not yet.
