Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Madison City Hall

Madison, Ohio

Once a Civil War hospital and later an insane asylum, the city hall is now reportedly haunted. Each night, it is said that the police chief’s desk would be rearranged. Cameras will not work inside the building. People have also reported seeing others walking down the hall, but on second glance, no one will be there.

My mom worked there as a receptionist in the late 80’s. She told that most of the activities happened on the third floor and in the attic. She had some pretty crazy stories but the one that I’ll never forget was when Denise Dufala, a local anchorwoman for the Cleveland news did a halloween story about the building and it’s history. When the story was complete she stood outside for a while chatting with everyone. As soon as she had left the spot she was standing in a glass window from the attic fell and shattered. Luckily no one was injured, but Denise quickly ran to the van saying that she needed to get the hell out of there.

I live in Madison in a house I can honestly say scares the heck out of me on a daily basis. I always thought it would be “cool” to live in a haunted house. That was before I moved into one.

I live across the street from the building and have seen 2 little girls standing in the upper left hand door waving at me. Every since the remodeling though (after Mr. Castle bought it) they are not there as often.

My wife and I drive by every so often going back home from the library, and she didn’t know the story until I told her what I had been told years ago. Whenever we drive by the Old Tavern at night, I make a point to take a look while at the stop sign if we are not in front of anyone.

hi everyone,my name is jason and i am the founder of north east ghost hunters, here in madison,oh.i am looking for real houses with real paranormal activity.if you have a paranormal haunting or know of someone who does email me.investigating the paranormal can be fun,but also there are risks i try to not involve people because the investigation can become very emotional and dangerous.having a great understanding in the paranormal is a must, and doing or saying the wrong things can be detrimental.although these are people like you and me they are in a different setting some very angry, some very emotional, thus making the perfect catalyst for anything negative to happen.negative spirits can be the worst to deal with,so please have a great understanding with the paranormal before attempting to make any type of contact,it could take a turn for the worse.any questions feel free to email me at paranormal31@yahoo.com thanks jay

Some of the events such as seeing shadows or movements that are then gone could be explained. Depending on where in the building, based on inside and outside movements of everyday objects. It definitely sounds like a place our group needs to visit. I have driven by it a few times I think and just never knew exactly where or what it was. I’m fascinated by the abandoned house down 122? I think.. with the pole out in the field in front of it…
