Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Mary’s House

San Jose, California

This house, is haunted by two apparitions–Mary and her son. Sometimes Mary has been reported to be very nice; she teaches children nursery rhymes and reads them bed time stories. Other times, however, Mary is said to be very evil; she has set the house on fire at least four times. Once, she ripped a cat from a little girl’s arms and threw it down the hallway. Also in this house is one room that is freezing cold all the time. There have been reports of doors opening and closing by themselves, objects moving around, and television and radio stations changing alone.

The house which some of you said was on 553 Hellyer Ave is actually own by a Vietnamese name. He’s owned that house since March 31, 1989 according to Accessor Office. However, I never anybody leave or enter the house; the garage door was closed all the time. I’ve heard the rumor said the house is now donated to Santa Clara County but it should transfer the deed too.

The house is NOT haunted.

I live in San Jose. It is NOT haunted. The teens who live there, “submitted” their house, just to be on this website and get some drama. Please, it’s NOT haunted. It’s just a HOAX.

True.
This is a HOAX.

It is true. Mary’s House is certainly not haunted as everyone seems to think. The people who live there made this story up to get publicity.

My mom bought a house across the street in 1975 and I remember when we first moved in there was a big orchard on the corner of Senter Rd./Helleyer Rd. and me and my brothers and sisters used to go over Caroline’s house and ask to play with her son it’s been so long ago that I think his name was Ricky and my brothers and Ricky would go to the Go-Carts on Monterey Rd. and me and my sisters would get Sewing lessons from Caroline she was a homemaker and Mother of 9 Children and when they built the home on 553 Helleyer Rd. the entire family moved into the 553 home until they all got married I would really like to know the true facts on this home because we miss Caroline and the family this is the Aleman Family from Texas. If anyone knows the where abouts of Caroline and family please email me at alvarez.eliz@yahoo.com If I’m not mistaken the last name is Gordan. Thanks

This is what I heard about this place 553 Hellyer Ave from a family that leaves close by. The parents purchased the house for thier daughter as long as she graduate (not sure if high school or college). Since she graduated she thought that the home was hers. But because her parents couldn’t afford the monthly payments along with another morgage, they thought having to rent out some of the rooms would help out. The daughter didn’t like that idea so from their on the family would have arguments and went on for awhile until she committed suicide in the house. The family tried staying at the house but couldn’t because they would find themselves on the floor in the morning or outside, and or the kitchen floor would be a miss from all the stuff that was on the counter. The family tried to sell the house but couldn’t because the buyers would have the same experience. They even offered buyers to stay at the house for free for 1 month and everyone who did try it would have the same experiences or more. I was told that the house is going for 80k. So whoever wants to buy a house now you have the opportunity. My sister had some friends over at her house which is only a block away from 553 hellyer ave and told us about this place. We heard about it awhile back but didn’t really know the story until just last weekend. It was a friend that got the info. from San Jose State. How true is it, not sure but sound scary. I always have to pass by to go home and this is what I see… The front of the house is gated and always locked. They put a big rock, has one of those things when you park your car there’s that cement block so that you won’t park to far up… in front of the gate (drive way). They also cemented the yard and added rocks, I believe to have less maintenance. There’s also a bright light at night pointing towards the house. Whoever is fearless go check it out. Good Luck have fun.

the house is not empty because they are paying for basic cable service there and i know because i work for comcast and can do audit checks for any address and it will pull up what kind of services they have with comcast.

D
Go and check out the house or atleast pass by it and you’ll know what i see infront of their house. Maybe they haven’t cancelled it or maybe the family once in awhile they do go and stay their since they can’t sell it. I’m sure they’re still paying the morgage and all those stuff. It doesn’t mean that it’s not haunted.

kalena says:

oh yeah!!! D you might want to consider that they might have cancelled it but comcast never cancelled it on their side that’s why it shows on your system that they have cable. This happened to a friend of mine. She had cancelled her cable because she thought she had to move but comcast never cancelled it on thier side. So she had free basic cable for so many years with out any charges until she decided to upgrade. How about that????

well not on my watch lady!!!! and i never said it wasnt haunted i just said it wasnt empty and i drove by there tonite cuase i only live a few minutes away and i have no idea why they have those parking blocks in the driveway.

kalena says:

August 29, 2008, 12:11 am

That’s cool D I’m glad you did go and drove by it and there’s a reason why those parking blocks are there and why there’s that bright light shinning toward the front of the house. Just didn’t want you to think I’m making all these up and I’m sorry that I accused you of not thinking that it wasn’t haunted.

ok i had my dispatcher look up the address and give me some info but she said there were weird things on the account that she didnt understand and that there is no record of any installers going there.she told me theres a name on the account but for some reason she didnt give it to me.what had me trippin was the fact that we only communicate through text messages through the company and as soon as i had her look up the recrds she told me to call her on the phone….dont know what that was about….

Kalena says:

August 29, 2008, 3:08 am
