I live right down the street from the bridge and drive across it atleast once every two weeks or so. I have never heard the scream of course but i have heard about it being haunted ever since i was very young.

Teenaged Joel Earl was murdered there in either 1984 or 1985. It’s a catch-22: people think the road and the place is haunted, so they get loaded and go there to do crazy ****, and crazy **** happens. This was a drunken gun-fight in pickup trucks that had started as a fight in a high schoo lunch line at Lakota High (before it was so big it was made into two school) — stupid, right? It ended in one group of Rambo-lovin’ boys chasing Joel Earl in their truck, brandishing guns. He was shot in the head by a 13 year old. No joke. Ohio is nasty, violent, and ignorant — always was, always will be, subdivisions or no.
