Real Haunted House

Mexican Ghost

Brownsville, Texas

A ghost of a man who fought and died in the Mexican War is supposedly seen here at times. There have been articles about the ghost in Reader’s Digest and the local newspaper.

In reference to: not illegal Jessica, be proud of your heritage, you are mexican, I’m sure the “mexican ghost” was proud of his heritage, that is why he was fighting and died for his country!!

You all need to let this go. How do you expect people to take genuine race issues seriously when you get offended by something as insignificant as “Mexican Ghost”? (And yes, I’m Mexican.)

The University of Texas Southmost College sets on the site of old Fort Brown. The library is haunted. The Old Morgue and Gargas Hall are haunted. The University Hotels on the island in the resaca (oxbow lake) are haunted. I have interviewed people who have worked there and they have seen the little girl in the library and Tandy Hall. Students have told me about seeing soilders in brown uniforms over by the new student center. UTB sells a book in the gift shop called “The Ghosts of Fort Brown”. Gotta be one of the most haunted places in the country.

In refrence to haunting at Berta Cabaza in San Benito, ya’ll need to get the story right. I know because I was there from the begining. Her name was Yvette. It was during lunch time when the flag pole broke and landed on her head. I was but a few steps away when it happened. The school has been closed since then and a new one opened up across town. The school is not a house at all, but it used to be many things through out the history of S.B. one of which a high school. Many of my friends and co-workers have seen or heard Yvette playing in the gym which is still used today by the public. She used to play volleyball and basketball. Part of the flag pole still remains in front of the school as a tribute to her. If you visit, please bring her a yellow rose. She would have like that.

I’ve been to camp lulu and it’s not a pretty site. my friends and i had a bad experience the time we went. it was about 2:30 a.m. there was no wind, the slightest noise startled us, and it was dark as hell. in the front of the camp there are these huge black gates, it’s quite hard to enter. but there is an easier route. Behind the camp is a little resaca with stepping stones, after the stepping stones is a gate about as high as my chest and thats because im only 5′6. Anyway, as soon as you cross the gate you come across a small , what used to be campfire. There are logs where i guess the girls would sit and tell stories and rocks in the middle where they would lite fires. But what’s very disturbing is a huge wooden cross in the middle of the little campfire. The cross is in the ground but it is upside down (weird huh!!). It stand perfectly about 8 ft. and just down a little pathway from the cross are from what i saw, 3 little cottages, all tattered and wood all molded. What freaked out my friends and i was that when we stood in front of the little cottages we heard laughing but as if little girls were laughing. We also heard movement from inside the cottages. We decided to wait no longer and began to go back to the exit. But to our surprise an old man with a dirty old jean jacket and a wierd looking cowboy hat. (Sorta like the one from jeepers creepers) was standing in the way of our exit with a sawed of shotgun!! My friends managed to run past him, but at the time i was a fat***. So he was able to push me to the ground. I last remembered when he held the gun to my face and told me that if i ” had any smarts in my brain, that i would run as fast as i could to the gate or else he would splatter my brains across the pavement.” i was scarred as *@#$!!! I was able to get up and run. Only problem was my friends had taken off in the car and i had to run all the way to the nearest house i could find. the people were cool about me using their phone, and my friends picked me up from that house. I told them my story and they told me to be very careful becuase they heard that the old man that hit me lives in camp lulu and he is crazy. The people even told me that he could possibly be the one that murdered those little girls due to the fact that the property belongs him and he used to run the camp back then!! Folks this story is 110 % true. This happened about 3 yrs ago. I was what…17 years old, i had just moved here from chicago and heard of the place, went with a few so called friends and almost got shot and left behind. So if you decide to go out there i suggest you be careful the old man is very crazy. And for someone to live in the middle of a haunted place and walk around the freaky place in the middle of the night…is crazy to me!!!

I have been to Camp Lulu. I had an experienace. Don’t know if it was my mind playing tricks on me. I was the only one who saw this. As we rolled up to the big gates at the entrance of Camp Lulu everyone was so excited I guess for the reason that we had fear on our mind. We got off and walked up to the gates. It was about 4 of us. We hurd some noises coming from inside the property but couldint realy distiguish the noise. As I looked to my left i saw a figure, standing still. Just a black figure staring right at me or at us. I asked everyone if they could see the figure of a man but no one answerd me. They just ran and go in the truck. As i walked to the truck i staid looking toward were the figure of the man was and it was still there. Not a movement or anything. It was as if the figure was studying us. I would ask my friends if they had seen the man but no one would respond they would just ignore my comment. I still wonder who or what that was. But i know i saw that figure of a man.

I have been trying to look up info. on the camp and of the murders that happend there but haven’t been able to find any. Does anyone know how i can find more info on this? I have a big feeling there is something there. I want to understand what happend there and how. Please help me find more info on this subject.

Thank you
Carlos
