I went to Camp Lula Sams for 4 years in the early 80’s as a girl scout. I nor any of the other girls ever experienced any of these things. It was spooky sometimes because it was in the middle of nowhere (at that time) and when your a kid, sleeping in cabins that don’t have locks, well, one’s imagination could run wild. Anyway, Out of all the times I was there nothing paranormal happened. Those were great summers and I made many friends. I do remember Lula’s house though but never had the opportunity to go inside.

I live in Brownsville and the ghost is real but he is not the only ghost at Fort Brown (UTB) there is the three men playing dice in a room that is locked and hasn’t been opened since it was locked about a hundred years ago. The other ghost is of a women who turned into a cat and her maid cut off her paw and soon after she died.

Camp Lulu is not haunted. The former girl scouts have posted the truth. I looked into it and am convinced this is all urban myth. I personally know the owners who wish people would not disturb the site as they are still trying to maintain the property and continually use it for educational purposes. They have other work to do also and the caretaker will have you arrested for tresspassing so please consider staying put outside of the gate if you must go out there. Brownsville has many haunted places which include many myths and superstitions. Many people venture out into the supposedly haunted areas expecting to be “spooked” and I realize people here will assert they’re not lying here but really, some people DO turn loose their imaginations when thrill seeking alleged haunted sites. I’ve seen that myself many times. I hope this opinion helps some and if it gets some readers angry, sorry.

Hey what up
for the people who might know of this story may know who I am.

I work for Big Brother Skate Shop in Brownsville Texas. We are located on 734 E. Levee right in the outskirts of downtown. The place where this shop is used to be an old tire shop. One day while the store was up and running with customers i decided to go to the restroom. In order to reach the restroom i had to go through a small warehouse and the owner’s office where I reached the warehouse where alot of the wholesale is done. I glimpsed to my right and there it was a newspaper boy just swinging his legs on a table and looking down. As soon as i screamed and turned back to see if he was still there, he vanished. After teasing me and hearing my story later on the owner told me a story about him seeing the same ghost when he was younger but at his old house when he was a kid. Could it be that hes following Big Brother’s Owner or is he just at the shop for fun? Alot of kids hang there so maybe hes looking froward to make some new friends.

There was a man who lived in Indian Lake and would travel by bike and he would ride down Fm road 803 on his way back from Brownsville, One night he went down that road around 3 am and he felt chills all over his body and an evil presence, he saw orbs of lights around him and he never went through that road again, The new Dora Romero Elementary and the Los Fresnos United High School will be haunted also , they both will be located on Fm road 803. As far as exploring Camp Lulu Sams, stay away from that place, let the spirits rest in peace, don’t go looking for them cause they feed of the fear and energy of the people looking for them and don’t play the ouji board, cause you will contact evil spirits, alot of the ouji board players wind up in Insane asylums, also don’t contact the dead , cause chances are you won’t be contacting your dead relatives but a demonic representative from hell. Seek Jesus and the Holy Ghost, Cause time is short and all the dead will be raised and judged by God. The living also will be judged. Seek the Holy Spirit……..

Hey Nicole/ Annie or any one else intrested…I started investigating two small cemetaries off Old Military HWY off Brownsville (Very close to Resaca De La Palma Battlefield site, which I also want to check out).My best friend died in front of the first cemetary,(1/4/09 a wooden cross with his name on cemetary fence)Been there once and gotten two consecutive EVP moans soon after questioning and one mile down the road the second cemetary where he is buried, I’ve gotten an orb next to his headstone and other places you can check out the cemetary in my 3 youtube tributes to him, look under tizoc75 or under Jose Manny Sierra. Been there twice after midnight for about 10-15 minutes each but too many mosquitos, I have a night vision Camcorder/Digital Camera/ EMF meter/ + other equipt. , will like to get together with someone/gp and check out these site and the Battlefield in more details or any other sites that are worthy

I spent several summers going to girl scout camp at Camp Lula Sams. Nothing scary ever happened. It was a great place and a lot of fun. I hav a lot of good memories of that place. I think the only reason you people have been scared going out there is because you were expecting to be scared. It’s my understanding that it is now a wildlife refuge and teaching facility so there is probably security out there trying to keep you nuts off the property. You people need to get a life.
