Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Midland Cinemas

Midland, Michigan

Many years ago, before the theater was built on this site, the land was used for farming. Supposedly, six people died on this farm for unknown reasons. The employees of the theater have reported paranormal activity throughout the building. Such activity includes toilets flushing on their own, strange noises, figures appearing in the theater seats after-hours, and the sighting of a tall man with a beard, wearing overalls.

This site is a friggin’ riot, I started reading for the ghosts and soon forgot what the point was. A whole sh*tload of people that can’t spell, People commenting that have never been to Midland, Fast food employees; All this site needs is a circus monkey and 3 prostitutes and it would have everything. Oh, did I say prostitute in relation to Midland? There are no prostitutes in Midland; Except the ones that haunt the bathroom stalls at the Midland Cinemas and keep flushing the toilets. Keep up the good work guys, Midland needs an injection of humor.

i work there and so does my girlfriend samantha. and there has been countless amounts of times of people hearing stalls opening and shutting. i have encounted this myself. and one day when i was cleaning theater 8 i saw a white figured man standing in the projection room, i figured it was nate the projectionist but i ran out and saw nate in a green shirt at the usher stands…no one else was up there.that was around 11:30pm..and one time it was raining heavily outside and my 2 managers were leaving and there were no other cars in the parking lot besides their cars, a bearded man was standing in the pooring down rain not moving just watching them. so they ran back inside and called the police and the guy wasnt to be seen. believe but you want but that place is fukn creepy as hell!!!!!!!

I like that last guy’s post. I noticed a few posts where they noticed something 15 years ago. According to sources, ghost or paranormal activity is triggered during a renovation or remodeling, it irritates the spirits.

The Midland Cinemas have been remodeled a few times, therefor it depends on the people. Not ALL the time or EVERY NIGHT will there be sitings. So people who post and say, no I have never seen anything- does not prove anything.

I do not sure if I believe this because I have spent alot of time there andonlylive down the street from the cinemas. I’ve never experienced any peronormal event there>

I lived in Midland roughly one mile away from the cinemas for about 3 years. I feel that I have an ability to sense spirits so to speak (I used to live in a haunted house growing up). Anyways that whole area around the cinemas has always given me the chills…day or night. I’ve never been to the cinemas alone but I have been to a few very late shows…around 1 or 2 in the morning. I was friends with someone who knew the guy who ran the film in the projection room. So sometimes after the theater closed he’d let a few people come and watch the new hit movie that was out. He also allowed us in the projection room at one time…he had some really cool old movie posters that he wanted us to see while he was finishing up his work. While in the projection room I felt like there was a presence watching me but than again it was late and the building was empty. Anyways visiting the theater does give me a sort of eerie feeling even though I’ve never actually witnessed anything. But just because I haven’t witnessed it or you haven’t witnessed it that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. Contrary to ones belief you don’t have to see to believe.

Maybe the tall man with the beard is tired of people not flushing the toilet so he does it his self

I had worked at the Midland Cinemas for almost 5 1/2 years and also did night cleaning and know for sure that this place is haunted. All the managers know and the Projectionists know for SURE, although they may not admit it. I have seen tools flying off the walls upstairs on there own, and everyone who worked there knows they are real. I dont care if anyone else believes, but just so you know, its real. My good friend was night cleaning one night and had what sounded like a women screaming from inside one of the projection rooms, yelling “GET ME OUT!!!!GET ME OUT HELP!!!” Bloody murder, and the door was being pounded from the inside. He said he could hear fingernails scratching, the whole thing. Knowing this door locked from the outside, he ran like hell out of the theatre and never returned to night clean again. These ghousts f*ck with the projectionists and night cleaners, so before you judge these hauntings…ask the people whove actually seen it!!

i’ve been to this theater over 25 times and i have for sure experienced things that i cannot explain.i was in the bathroom and there wasn’t anyone in there with me at the time, and i was washing my hands. In the corner of my eye i thought i saw someone around the corner by the door and i amedientally ran to see what it was, but there was nothing there. The thing i saw in the corner of my eye seemed to be a tall figure about 5′7 maybe 5′6,i’m not sure like i said i only got a glance. But it sure was scary.since then i’ve never went to the bathroom there alone again.

I agree with Joe:

Isn’t when they are renovating it takes place, but once they are finished it goes away temporarily? And none the least, could it be the person themself? Some people can attract ghosts in ways. Some of us can move or break things for no reason either…I think it is somewhat natural. When I was pregnant with my daughter and working during a stressful episode in my life, things would fly right off the shelfs when I got angry. I never really put one and one together until later…

The toilets are automatic ones and tend to randomly go off, I work at the NCG in Alma and that happens a lot so that part I do not believe.

Timmy says:

Omg, our automatic toilets flushed themselves! Nowai!

I have lived in midland my whole life, and I know the midland Cinamas is NOT haunted. People think they see things because they just saw a scary movie or somthing, it’s nothing.

I grew up near midland, and although I have not personally been to this particular cinema, I do believe that it is possibly haunted. There are haunted locations all over Midland, Clare, Isabella, and Gratiot Counties. Most of them are never discussed. Although strange occurances would certainly be unnerving, I don’t think they should be feared. The ones that no one ever talks about are the ones that should be feared. Random sightings and unexplained noises are nothing. Try to find someone that has been terrorized by a Poltergeist or Demon. Talk to them about thier experiances. Then come back on here and tell me how scary or creepy something like the Midland Cinema is.
