Real Haunted House

Morpheus Bridge

Wendell, North Carolina

A family of three was driving along this bridge, when they crashed into the side, being ejected from the car and falling to the murky depths below. As a result of this tragic incident, the woman and child died, leaving only the father. It is said that if one parks his car on the bridge on Halloween, it car will shut off, and the woman will appear, searching for her lost child.

Anyone interested in the paranormal, I am co founder of a local group in Fayetteville, North Carolina called NAM GHOST HUNTING SOCIETY. My partner and I are looking for some new members willing to go on investigations. We have already partially investigated the Vander Light haunting and are currently working on a new investigation at the Clarion Prince Charles Hotel. We still have to go back to with our equipment to Vander, but we did catch pictures of several orbs and ectoplasm. Our contact info is on our web site. http://www.namghs.com.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!!

My brother’s girlfriend is from N. Carolina and I remember tellin me this same story that her and her teenage friends @ the time would play…She told me that one of the times the car did shut off and her friends mom had to go get them!!!!! the only difference is that she said a little girl named Sally is suppose to appear, not the mother and that you are to chant “Sally come out and play” on the bridge.

I live in wendell, and the bridge is the one that crosses over the little river park. The bridge is the natural land mark between Wendell and Zebulon. I have herd that story before, but being a resident of the area for all of my life i have never herd of anyone seeing any unusual activity, and in fact i have driven over the bridge on halloween and seen people parked on the bride. Its a good ledgend though!

That’s not gravity hill, it’s sally’s bridge. i went last night. we heard a slight howl, that wasn’t a dog. But we took a ton of pictures on the sides of the bridge and it seems like one of the sides had the most activity. we had almost 20 pictures of orbs, large ones that weren’t there in the picture we took before. they just kept apearing and in some pics there was more than one.

you are sapposed to turn your car off and she is sapposed to come and try and get in the car or open the window to make you help her find her baby.

Wow… I was just browsing hauntings in North Carolina and saw Morpheus Bridge and couldn’t believe it. It’s the road I live on. I go over that bridge all the time.. but I’ve never heard that story before. Now i’m going to be creeped out every time I go over it.

I have been over this bridge numerous times. Never seen, heard, smelled, tasted anything in or around this bridge resemebling a ghost. The baby (if story is true) is probably lost in the overgrown grass on both sides of the road near this bridge. NCDOT needs to come out and cut the grass; shoot for that matter, the family may have just driven off the road into the overgrown grass/woods and may still be driving around trying to find their way out.

I live in Wendell which is 5 min outside Zebulon bout 25-30 min from Raleigh.I’ve heard different ways of going across the bridge and/ or stopping, you stop in the middle and cut your car off, or put and neautral and let it roll across the bridge and it’ll cut off, or stop at the side cut your lights and car off and you can hear her calling his name who knows. This legend has been around for many years and i go across the bridge almost every day.So i tried it one night and nothing happened.but it is scary on halloween.Just for fun. They say you’ll see her lookin for her little boy.And also this story has been twisted so many times from the first I’ve heard. But the accident really happened…true story, car flip in to the river and killed the mother and son, I never heard there was a father driving the car, but who knows, maybe you’ll see her or hear her.

wow that is scary! I heard that there is a bridge that is haunted in NC and in the 50s a school bus crashed and drove off the bridge and now if u put powder on ur bumper and then stop on the bridge u will feel a big push and then get out and there will be little hand prints on the bumper and if u wash the powder off the hands will be burned into the paint on the car.
