T.A.P.S. investigated that place, it's a fake. Nothing but fun house devices that got Grant injured the owners and managers should be ashamed of themselves!

Recently TAPS investigated the Moss Beach Distillery and found that the building is 'rigged' to scare you - an eerie face behind a mirror that lights up, pneumatic devices that make the chandeliers swing, and more. It's a hoax out there folks...don't bother.

I live in San Francisco, and had often heard stories about the Moss Beach Distillery hauntings.

I am also an huge fan of the SciFi Channel's Ghost Hunters show. Last night they aired a new epsiode, which was an investigation of the Moss Beach Distillery. The own/manager listed many claims of patrons seeing faces in the mirror and hearing laughter in the women's restroom, hearing noises through the halls, and the chandelier shaking.

After an intense investigation, the hunters discovered all of the booby traps and rigs set up to simulate paranormal activity. This includes all of the activity the duped patrons reported. The Moss beach Distillery fabricated hauntings with electronic devises, and then tried to use the reports as evidence... all the while compleyly knowing that it was all a ruse.

Needless to say, the investigators were very upset and angry to have been lied to. It was terribly unprofessional of the Moss beach Distillery to waste the time of the investigators with falsified reports. The Distiller claimed that they use the equipment to 'enhance' the haunting experience, but how can any evidence be trusted, considering the likely hood that anything discovered has been tainted.

The Moss Beach Distillery tarnished its reputation as being a haunting location in Northern California.

Personally, I find this place pathetic. Any Real paranormal activity they may have can never be trusted because they've decided to turn themselves into a cheesy haunted house. There are speakers hidden all over the place, sensors, hydraulics, and a whole host of other fabricated "hauntings." Beyond that the staff is simply rude and insulting.

I am from Half Moon Bay and my sister worked as a waitress at the Distillery for 2 weeks and says she will NEVER go back. Not even for dinner. She doesn’t really talk about what happened except for 1 story:
The wine cellar is located downstairs and the door opens inward. One night she went down to retrieve a second bottle of wine for her table and couldn’t get the door to open. It took 3 strong guys to finally pushed the door open, when they managed to peak inside they saw that all the cases of wine had been pushed up against the door, all the way to the ceiling. She hates it there. Even when we drive by she gets creeped out.

I think it's fine to have a few Ghost "special effects" at the Distillery; people (myself included) love the whole Ghost theme as it is a lot of fun. Many
professionals such as Sylvia Browne have visited the Distillery and are convinced that spirits and ghosts visit on a frequent basis. Say what you will, the view of the ocean is awesome. Yes, the food is expensive but was very good on my last two visits for dinner.

Another tourist trap in the women's bathroom is a face appearing in the mirror, I don't know about the laugh, though.

I think it's totally stupid and despicable when an establishment fakes hauntings like this, that's why I'm boycotting the Moss Beach Distillery - even though I live somewhat nearby!

My family and I went there for dinner this summer. My cousin and I heard the lady in the blue dress laughing while we were in the bathroom. So we ran upstairs and asked the waitress and she admitted that some tourist traps were planted, such as the chandiler over the bar that shakes.
