Real Haunted House

Motorcycle Crash

Oxford, Ohio

It is said that many years ago, a serial rapist was running rampant through the town. Late one night a car pulled up to one females house and started flashing the lights and honking the horn. Fearing that it was the rapist, the young lady called her beau to come and protect her. Hurriedly trying to reach his love, the man was killed trying to make a sharp turn on his motorcycle. Allegedly, if one goes to the site of the girls house and flashes his lights and honks his horn, the light of the motorcycle may be seen coming around the bend.

I live in Oxford and also work for the local Sheriff’s Department, this is a urban legen that has been passed down from year to year especially at Halloween. I have actually went to the site and watched for the light and have actually observed the light. But I have an idea about the source, if anyone would want to know….I would be willing to maybe give my opinion about the sightings……Or maybe one should just check it out for themselves…..or do you dare!?

I Have been to this site also.. But you do not have the story just right.Ive been there in the winter..The man supposedly wrecked into a child riding a bike..his girfriend would flash her lights 3 times so her boyfriend would know it was safe to come over..(havent heard about the honking) We flashed our lights 3 times..sure enough we saw the motorcycle lights… and a red reflector going in a circle.we video taped it only the white motercycle lights show up not the red one..so im curious why that is..I looked for spot lights,I looked for any explanation but i have not found one yet so if you have an idea please share….

i recently visited oxford and stayed w/ a family that that has been to the haunted spot many times. first i was skeptical, they said more houses were built so its harder to find a good place to park the car. we parked up more than the supposed “usual spot”. we blinked the lights 3 times and turned them off. sure enough and i kid u not, up the hill i witnessed a single red tail light. it lasted about 15 seconds. my friend got freaked out and we left, but i truely believe in this story.

Alright, between ‘96-03 I dated a girl who attended Miami U. She told me about this several times before we went to check it out. I have seen the light at this location SEVERAL times. Anytime between 8:00pm and 4:00am. I’ve even seen it as dusk was just starting. I have also shown my mother, sisters, aunt, uncle, grandmother, co-workers, and co-workers families. If someone is faking this they are VERY dedicated, unlike many other “haunted” places, you don’t have to be at the place at any particular time of day/night or month/time etc. Also, I have a few antique motorcycles, and the light is consistant with the old lighting systems on bikes (dimmer and yellowish). The story varies, but I’ve had it show without doing anything (flashing my lights, etc.) Once I rode out there on my motorcycle, and the damn thing showed in my rear view mirror BEFORE I even turned around to park and wait. I’m not saying it’s a ghost, but I can’t explain it in any way that seems logical. I would love to hear any ideas! Also, the previous posts are right, the area is building up, and it’s harder to park out there without the cops moving you along. Also, I advise NO HONKING, you’ll just get the people who do live there madder, and chased off faster. Also, try not to go at the start of the school year. Seems every new student heads out there. The place looks like a broke down lane parking lot.

Sounds identical to a ghost story we have here in Ontario, Canada at Scugog Island.

I cannot post a link in this comment section, but if you do a web search on Ghost Road, Port Perry, Ontario you will find it.

Versions include:
In the 1950’s a young man by the name of Dan/Dave Sweeny was driving a motorcycle down a desolated road in Scugog Township, Ontario, Canada. He was driving at an excessive speed when he lost control, and was thrown into a field. Tragically poor Dan was killed when his head hit a large rock and he was decapitated. Since the time of the accident there has been reports of a phantom headlight which crosses the field, then turns left down the road where it vanishes into the night. It seems Dan is doomed to relive that last ride each night on Ghost road…..At least that’s how one story goes……

Also:
A motorcyclist killed while fleeing the father of his girlfriend, that he was decapitated by a fence instead of the rock, and that it was a snowmobile instead of a motorcycle.

There is nothing on record to substantiate these stories from Ontario as having actually happened. No accident report, no obituaries, news reports etc. I would be interested to find out if anyone has attempted to validate the stories from Ohio to see if they actually occurred as stated in the legend?

I am writing this post because I am somewhat skeptical about ghost, but after going to this location I think I may have been proven wrong. I and 4 friends were bored tonight and decided to check it out. We drove around forever to find the spot; we turn around where the supposed house where the girl lived went down the street and waited. The first time we tried it there was nothing so we decided to move down the road a little. After that we picked out spot, turned off all the lights in my car and flash the lights 3 times. After sitting there a while we saw a light in the distance and it began heading toward us. At that point I thought it was another group of people testing to see if it works but as I turn on my lights and headed down the road the light disappeared with no trace of anyone anywhere. The light was very bright and yellow. Two of the people I was with before said that they had done it before and the light actually will come up to your car till its out 20 feet away and as you look in your back window you can see tail lights driving away

I use to live in that area and was out there several times. I’ve seen the light in my rear view mirror and coming towards my car.

In all of south west ohio the story goes like this: A man was going to vist his girlfriend and he would Flash his light three times to tell her that he was there and she would then climb out of her window and go to him. Well one night the mother and father caught wind of this and tryed to put a stop to it, well he saw him comeing down the road but the something happend he crashed and killed him self, so she then went to the family Barn and hung her self for she could not live with out her man. I have been there and regardless of the stories this really works. I have seen the light and then I have seen it go away. So what ever happend this is a freaky *** spot.

I have heard several diffrent stories but they say it happened in wyandot county. but what they say happend is a man would rev his engine before he got to a bridge and it made the nieghbor man mad and in time the nieghbor man tied a string across the bridge to knock him off his bike but instead the string cut his head off…… thats the wyandot story

This is real, whatever it is. I saw it only once out of about 3 times I’ve been there, though. A bright, white light that filled the whole sky. It is NOT a car of any sort, this light had some power behind it. It was higher than the hills and came straight for us. I was so freaked out I started to head back to my car (we were all out of the car) but then it just disappeared. It happended about every 10-15 minutes. Scariest thing I ever saw because there was no explanation and it was not a car, there was no sound, either. Freaky. Location is: Turn onto Oxford Milford Road from Rt. 73. Go all the way down the road until it makes a 90 degree turn -can’t miss it- then turn around to face the way you came; pull up a little bit. Flash your lights 3 times at night.

Alison I live in Wyandot County and I’ve heard the story you told but not sure if it happened in this county…where did it supposedly happen?

I have been there and know lots of people who have as well. I was very skeptical, until I saw the lights as well. I think I actually read about this in one of the Hanted Ohio books. It’s really cool. I don’t know how it could be anything else, but haunted. We’ve seen it every time we’ve gone for years.
