I also got very earie feelings while walking alone down the long hallways at night. Also, for some odd reason my dad and i were both awakened at the exact same time... a few seconds later the fireplace turned on by itself. my dad and i looked at eachother, i got up to turn it off, but we didn't say a word until the morning when we told my mom about it. i'd like to go back and stay with my boyfriend to see if anything else happens. My family and I have stayed there numerous times before without incident but this particular evening something strange happened. My husband had decided to splurge on a Tower Suite for the July 4th celebration. After an evening of dinner and fireworks we went to bed. My two sons were in one bed, my husband and I beside them in the other. I was one my side, with my back to my sons' bed when I felt my son sitting on the side of my bed. I was waiting for him to say "Mom", thinking he wasn't feeling well, but he never did. After a few moments I turned over and he wasn't there. I got up, went over to him in his bed and he was sound asleep. He had never gotten up. I felt uneasy and woke my husband up to tell him. I finally fell asleep without further incident. A few years later, while watching Ghost Hunters, discovered people have had similar incidents, feeling a presence sitting on the edge of their bed. I got goose bumps over my entire body. If you go out there around 5-6pm, multiple people have been hit so hard in the lower back that they fall over and lose their breath!! As soon as we got off the elevator I said "Hell, no this isn't right>" The hallway was hard t explain. It was freaky. We went to our room 217 and the room was a completely different atmosphere. It was peaceful. But as soon as we stepped out of the room the eerie feeling came over me. Later that day while enjoying a cocktail, the bartender told us the story Mrs. Stickney. I was freaked. As we continued exploring the hotel,we walked down a hallway with a painting of a beautiful young woman looking over a balcony right at us. Until today, I had not heard about her looking over the balcony at the guests, but that nite something about it didn't feel right and I didn't go back down that way again. We had a great time but now knowing the stories we will probably not go back. Paranoia will drive me to start seeing things that aren't there I 'm sure.
