Ok, there’s a serious problem with this story. The ONLY WAY these grounds could have been inhabited in the 1500’s is if the inhabitants were Native Americans. The first European settlement in North America (if we don’t count the Vikings…) was Jamestown, Virgina in 1620. And that town didn’t survive long…but I’ll spare any further history lesson.

While the Dates may be wrong and early. I live down the street from this place and have been hearing this ghost story for my entire life. While details may be a little different and off, I think it’s awsome to finally see this written down!!

I lived at the seminary and this is all wrong. It was NOT an Episcopal seminary until much later–it was a monestary. It was not an acolyte who haunts the grounds, but a monk who was murdered by another monk. The empty casket part holds true, though. Amusingly enough, the Nashotah House football team call themselves the Black Monks, after the ghost.

I too live here on the campus and the facts including the dates are wrong. It is a monk, killed by another monk, who was never married. This was not founded as a seminary until 1842. And he was a catholic from down the road who could not be buried in their cemetary because he was thought to have commited suicide and is buried somewhere here on campus. He has been sited here wandering around and that is the real story.

I live like right down the street from this place and didn’t know it was haunted. But I always rode around the woods in that area with my friends. It gave us the creepes so we named it children of the corn because theres corn fields everywhere so its really freaky to know its haunted

I grew up half a mile from the Nashotah House. There is a story about it being haunted, but the story here is a little off.

Nashotah is a real place i know this because i used to live there and still only live a few miles away ive been to the place and dont think this is just some **** made up by a couple of 5th grade kids because there is actually a plaque put up by the semmitary because when they didnt find his body to bury when it wasn’t in the coffin also it refers to him as the black monk. I think he was buried in the cornfield its across the street from the semmitary.

He was a monk, and the story at the top is for the most part true diffrent dates, yet i she didn’t have an affair with the dean. It was said that he was buried across the street in the corn field, and then dug up and nothing was found. But, I should personally know I’ve lived here for about 16 years. All in all, I haven’t had any ghostly encounters- although I’ve probably just jynxed myself. & What’s more scarier than the stories, is the odd, loony people who attend school there.

I have read up on this location a number of times and found that it really never has been investigated for any true Paranormal activity. You can read all the stories you want but who has the proof that would solidify any claims that are being made about the haunting.
