There is nothing in here about Ft Leavenworth and the OLD USDB being haunted. Like the old hospital that was turned into a dorm for inmates. The building that the thirteen German( i think) soldier were hung in the elevator shaft??? Or the tower that was never redone because it was not used anymore, which was where a private had shot himself one night during a thunderstorm while on duty. What about these?????

Any one else heard of these haunted places?

One last thing, more googling and It wasnt a house number change. 117, 119, and 121, were the first three built. Over the woman in question related to bldg 124 Hauntings grave site. Her remains were unearthed in 1889. The house is 119 I believe. That house is the real crazy ghost story on Ft Riley. In my opinion.

Interesting read:

http://polk.bookoounderground.com/topic.jsp?topicId=11565634

Seems the house is still empty with Asbestos warnings. I remember when they did the asbestos renovations. Im pretty sure all were done in the 80s on that block. Coincidence I think not.

Anyway just googled it, and yes i read some brief blurbs about Quarters 124. Might Explain why they renumbered the houses on Lower Brick Rowe. Nothin I read in my quick search turned up what I had heard. Bleeding walls, paint not sticking, hair raising stuff. A block party where the stereo cords inside the house were ripped in half and different music playing. A grandfather clock disassembled and on the living room floor when Soldier and his wife came home from leave. Loud banging and yelling from god knows what. If I had known that as a kid I would have freaked. I was already leary of that house and most houses there. I remember if I was walking by that house at night by myself I would be freaked. I wouldnt even look at it. I had some strange experiences in our own house when I was really young my Mom told me about it would freak her out bad. Me by myself in that house I was pretty much scared. Strange enough I do miss that house. It was our original home.

I used to live in 121B Lower Brick Rowe in the 80s as a kid for 8 years. They have since changed the numbering system. Its the one that is in front of the tennis court entrance on he east side of the loop or old Commissary side. That whole neighborhood was haunted to include our house.there is another hose towards huebner on the same side that sat empty for years. I remember reading reports years later that there was an exorcism in that house. I remember all of us kids getting erie vibes from that one. It always had signs on it for renovation. For years. What I read shocked me about it and I wont repeat it as it sounds really far fetched.

MP is a MILITARY POLICE OFFICER. My husband (an MP) has heard and seen some intense stuff on post in Fort Riley. MP's go pretty much everywhere, as shrek26 can attest. He's heard rumor that the 300th MP CO. barracks are haunted from a girl that committed suicide. The jail is def. haunted, so is the movie theatre, the crematory is definely haunted, as well as the artillary parade field, and the first territorial capital....

We were watching a ghost-hunter show the other night & they mentioned that limestone is a good conductor for energy & that most hauntings are strongest in limestone buildings, a damn good percentage of buildings in riley are limestone & have been there since the fort was first established. I don't doubt this. So much has happened there over the course of it's existance that I wouldn't doubt a word any soldier/civ. family member says in regards to it being haunted.

@ Shrek26, I've been dying to go into the old theatre but there's no way in hell they'd let a civillian in there.. I've heard so many stories I'd LOVE to check it out!!
