Real Haunted House

Norwich University

Northfield, Vermont
By Lisa

Norwich University, the Military College of Vermont, is the oldest private military college in the U.S.  It’s also home to several haunted legends.

One legend is that of a boarded up room at Alumni Hall where a student supposedly hung himself.  A few years later, his brother was attending the university and was given the same room, where he too, hung himself.

Chaplin Hall was once used as a library, and had a spirit that would knock off books off the shelves.  Today, this spirit hangs around the front door area.

Students have reported to have woken up from hearing screams and been unable to move/breathe in Hawkins and Ransom Halls.  And finally, a female ghost is known to guard the football field’s gate at Sabine Field.
