Old Elerbe Road School
This former school was closed due to the disappearances of several people, one being a beloved janitor. When the children went to look for him, they too disappeared–one by one. All that remains is a building in which all the lockers have been knocked out; in their place is a mural of the grim reaper. At night, one may hear the screams of children and the sound of a school bell.

To NOLAboy: The pier that your talking ab is pretty much under water now. All that I can be seen is the higher points on the pier. Mainly just the top posts from it. I dont recall there being much left of the trail either. Youcan tell there used to be one but it has all be broken and grass is grown in the cracks of it now. Ill have to make a trip out there sometime and try to get some pics for once. I always seem to forget my camera when I go on these random explorations lol.

I’ve been doing some research on the Ellerbe School. There are many different stories as to what happened out there. The most intriquing part is the story of the fire in the gym. By looking at the present photos, there is no evidence of a fire or one large enough to kill multiple people rapidly. Also when you look at the school on Google Earth, the roof shows no sign of a fire either. Please don’t get me wrong, I am really interested in the Paranormal and haunted places. I am in no way calling anybody a liar either. All of my friends that have gone out there have different stories, the school bells, screams, flashes or light. I have been out there and experienced nothing. Please if anyone has very recent photos, please share them.

Tara, I don’t know anything about that school except for going past it on the old road to Natchitoches. I’ll dig around and see what I can come up with. I know some people in Powhatten that can help me. Happy New Year!!!

Charmed one, I went to Oakland Cemetery last night and took some pictures. It is a nice cemetery and now that most of bottoms have been torn down it is alot safer. I had some weird anomalies in pictures. I debunked most as glares and reflections but there are a couple that are unexplaned. You can see them on my facebook page. My last name is Inman and I dont care who sees them. So check it out. Im going out every week to catch phenomenons. I lived in a house with a ghost before, so Im a strong believer. There are so many places in Shreveport to see.S,port municipal, Oakland cemetery, C.e. Byrd, Parkway, Austin place manor, ellerbe of coarse, the old jewish cemetary off Mansfield, pea farm, tank farm. Chicago club, my old house on Meadow. It goes on and on and thats for any city. America is full of violence and crimes of murder. Theres alot of unfinished business and lost souls.

Ive been out to Ellerbie school several times but and each time I had the same experiences. I want to let you know about my first visit. Some friends and I went out there to see what all the hype was about. We drove down the highway and it did seem to take forever because there is nothing out there. We approach the school and the side entrance gate was down so we pulled into the parking lot. We got out of the car and headed towards the school. It was quite creepy. The moon was near full so we didnt need our flashlights. We entered through the front corador and into the hallway. Id heard all the stories so I knew what to look for. As we walk down the hall we started seeing shadows on the wall. I figured that there were clouds passing in front of the moon and since half the ceiling had fallen in I just assumed it was that. We walked into what looked like an autitorium and towards the stage. There was alot of grafiti on the walls, mostly gang related. About halfway through the room we started hearing drops of water falling. These drops were not in the distance they were right in front of us. So we stuck our hands out to see if we could feel any water but we couldnt. At this time I started hearing someone giggling. I thought it was my girl and her friend, so I asked but they said they heard it too. When we walked out the door and back into the hallway I started getting the chills. We heard something crash in the next room so we headed that way. The girls were a little hessitant but came right behund us. We entered the gymnasium and started seeing the shadows again. I looked up through a hole in the roof and there were no clouds at all. The shadows were everywhere and seemed to be surrounding us. I think I just felt paranoid. We entered what seemed to be an old locker room. We started smelling burnt wood. Apairently some kids were smoking a cigar when a fire caught and one of them was burned to death, according to my dads aunt who worked there as a nurse. We walked into one of he classrooms. My buddy went first and as soon as he entered the room he fell down. I went to help him up and started freaking out saying something pushed him. So we decided to leave. As we went out the backdoor and headed to the parking lot we heard a loud screeching sound between us and the car. So we turned around and went around the school. We passed the manhole to the sewer and it was actually open. By this time we had kindof settled down so we stopped and turned the flashlights on. Around the hole someone tagged the hell hole. So I shined my light down into the sewer and I swear I seen a man inside. It scared the **** out of me and everyone else so we hightailed it to the car and left. That was the story of my first time.

I have been to Ellerbe Rd. School before. I am 51 years old now and when I was 34 we went out there. It was around midnight because we thought with that being the witching hour that it would be the more likely time that whatever was going to happen…would happen. This was back before the cops started patrolling regularly so we weren’t bothered by them. We were the…inside the buildings ad grounds for quite a while…waiting for something…anything…to happen. All we saw was a lot of cow **** and graffiti on the walls. And of course there were noises and shadows. There always is and that’s ANYWHERE you go at any time. Nothing ever happened. We have gone back several other times and nothing ever happens. It is simply that people made up a scary story about the place and you go out there and your mind gets over stimulated and you see and hear things that you really aren’t seeing OR hearing. Trust me…none of what is purported to have happened in that school did not happen. It simply closed because it was too far out to warrant sending kids there and the budget wouldn’t allow it. So it closed. Then someone set it on fire and it sustained some damage. That’s all. The old man who owns the land just keeps cows out there. Sodont get your self in trouble by going out there. It’s not worth it.

This is to Tara:yes the amphitheater platform is still there and overgrown and theres a few trails that lead up to it but when I was a child that thing was cool looking cuz it had a massive (typical amphitheater)wooden top to it,the over hang was prolly a story and a half tall. When your facing the pond(u no like ur standing on the asphalt bike trail that runs in front of the pond)and off to the right bank that was the old pier leading up to it (the amphitheater itself)I used to ride my bike on the pier and all over the stage,it was neat. But yeah if I could score an old photo of it the way it looked then,it would make my day.And thank you much 4 writing me back, hope to read from u or anyone else on this page soon!!
