I feel as a history teacher I would be negligent in my duty if I did not correct Sarah. First of all California was admitted into the union in 1850 as a Free State. In free states slavery was illegal so I'm sorry to report there are no "slave quarters" at Haystack landing.

I have heard from people at the Black Cat bar that there are ghosts that inhabit both bar and restaurant. As for haystack landing, it might be condemned, but that doesn't mean there isn't still something there. The old smoke house and slave quarters still stand and when my husband and I trekked out there it was very much still alive. Areas of dead cold had the long grass in a crop circle type of look, and between the smokehouse and a bunch of trees the temperature skyrocketed then went right back to the chilling night air. I don't know what exactly is true and not but I know what I experienced and haystack landing is VERY dangerous and should not be built over.

I lived on this street from about the age of 2 to 11. I havent experienced anything with horses, but one night i saw an image of a little boy walk across my livivng room, turn around, sit on my couch & slowly fade into it. & as for haystack landing, they condemned that spot awhile back.
