As for haystack landing, it might be condemned, but that doesn't mean there isn't still something there. The old smoke house and slave quarters still stand and when my husband and I trekked out there it was very much still alive. Areas of dead cold had the long grass in a crop circle type of look, and between the smokehouse and a bunch of trees the temperature skyrocketed then went right back to the chilling night air. I don't know what exactly is true and not but I know what I experienced and haystack landing is VERY dangerous and should not be built over.
