Real Haunted House

Preque Isle Lighthouse

Presque Isle, Michigan

The lighthouse was supposedly the scene of a fight between two men over one particularly lovely young lady. The womans lover one, leaving the lighthouse operator alone. The operator stayed in solitude and died after many years. Other operators of the light house have reported hearing someone walking up the stairs toward the light. After many years, the lighthouse was decommissioned and abandoned. Still, however, sailors have reported being able to see the light.

This story is true my family and i were touring the light house. i ran up ahead of everyone else and i saw a lantern light following me up. I didn’t think anything about it until i could’ve sworn i saw a man behind me.

I visited both “New” Presque Isle and “Old” Presquie Isle lighthouses on Sept 20, 2010. They are both beautiful and I enjoyed visiting. Whether or not the hauntings are true, it just added flavor to the visit.

i HAVE BEEN THERE SEVERAL TIMES, THIS IS THE OLD LIGHT HOUSE, NOT THE NEW BIG ONE. THERE WAS NEVER ELECTRICITY HOOKED UP IN THIS LIGHT HOUSE, AS THEY BUILT THE NEW ONE BEFORE IT THE NEW LIGHT WAS USED. iF YOU WALK OUT ON THE BREAK WALL ABOUT 1/4 OF THE WAY, YOU CAN SEE THE LIGHT HOUSE LIGHT UP AND FLICKER. mAKE SURE YOU WALK UP AND DOWN THE BREAKWLL, AS YOU CAN ONLY SEE IT FROM CERTAIN SPOTS ON THE BREAKWALL. I HAVE SEEN IT TWICE. MAKE SURE TO GO INSIDE THE LIGHTHOUSE DURING THE DAY, TO INVESTIGATE THAT THERE IS NO ELECTRIC HOOK UP

My family visited the old lighthouse (several years ago) on a rainy cold day. We felt a strong presence that day. We all just wanted to get out of the tower. Everyone felt this presence. We returned this past summer, nothing unusual happened, it was a bright sunny clear day. We took lots of pictures all great, except for one of my grandson and my son, there is an orb hanging over there heads. I believe there is something there. We have a vacation home not far from the site, I had no knowledge of it being haunted till I found this website. Kind of cool.

its the light house at old presque isle..there was no love story going on just a light house keeper with his wife, he died, and she still stays at the light house, there were rumors going on that the husband was still there haunting the light house, so the coast guard came out, disconnected the electricity,, took out the light, and wrapped everything in plastic, but you can still see a dim light every now and then from the light house. they closed the old presque isle light house,, only because they built the new one about a mile or so away, and because the old one the light was not as powerful as it should ve been.
