Real Haunted House

Prospect Hill Cemetery

Front Royal, Virginia

Inside the Soldier’s Circle, lies a grave at which some claim to have seen a man kneeling and weeping; it is thought that he is saddened by his own death. Another woman has been seen dressed in attire from the mid 1880s. Her identity is not know, however.

When I was 18 I stayed at the Woodward House on Manor Grade in Front Royal, for about a month. (It was not called the Woodward House at that time, but the elderly owner rented rooms. I stayed in room #1. Every night I was there just as I had fallen alseep, the closet opened and these black misty baloon like figures came out and circled the ceiling all night. There was a swooshing sound that followed them. They terrified me. When I was alot oldder I went back and stayed in room #1. Nothing. Except–I just realized Prospect Cemetary is in their backyard. Glad I didn’t know that then….

I live down the street from this cemetery and visit often. I like to bring a book up there and read when I’m feeling stressed. I have not seen either of these ghosts, but have seen some standing over graves.

The East Coast Ghosts (ECG) Paranormal Research Group has many years of experience in investigating not only major historical locations, but many private residences and work places as well. We employ some of the most leading-edge scientific equipment in order to validate or debunk claims of the paranormal. More importantly, we are open-minded skeptics in search of the truth through use of common sense while employing strict scientific procedures and protocols. We exhaustively look for â??naturalâ? explanations before considering that any case weâ??re dealing with could potentially be paranormal in nature.

Our small team consists of professional members with various backgrounds including: scientists, law enforcement and military personnel, historians, psychologists, and team members with other unique professional backgrounds and skills. From time to time, we also work closely with clergy of various denominations, spiritual healers, psychics, and mediums whenever it is deemed that their spiritual faith and special gifts can be of assistance to any given case that we are researching.

We take our research very seriously. We are especially sensitive to cases concerning individuals or families that find themselves in situations where activity that is potentially paranormal in nature is causing fear, oppression, doubt, and general disruption to their lives. You should feel safe in your own home or place of business. In a paranormal-ridden location, this may not be the case. We do our best to answer questions, provide evidence and facilitate an understanding of the paranormal so that our clients are better able to cope with the activity at their location. We not only help clients determine if the activity is paranormal, we also try to find the origins of the activity and if applicable, we attempt to find peace for any human spirits that may be linked to the haunting.

We truly care and provide a continuing relationship with our clients. Our goal is to help them understand and deal with what is occurring in their home, free of charge.

Itâ??s very important to note that all information that is provided to us is kept strictly confidential between yourself and our group.

If you live in Front Royal Virginia or the surrounding area and feel that you are in need of assistance or answers about things that are seemingly paranormal in nature in your home or place of business, please do not hesitate to contact us 24/7: http://eastcoastghosts.com/need-help/

We are going to be holding a candlelight vigil for Zumi at the old bridge on Friday if anyone is interested in coming. I will finalize a time once we know everyone’s availability. Let’s lay this poor spirit!

I was near the cemetery last night for a walk when suddenly I heard crying coming from inside of the fence. From where I was at in the school parking lot I could see a figure slumped against a tombstone and sobbing. It was a male figure holding a plate in his lap but it didn’t have anything on it. He looked to be petting an animal but I could not see one near him. I got out of there as quickly as I could and stole a glance back when I hit the street and he was no longer there!

George says:

August 1, 2016, 3:38 pm

Glen – it sounds like you have encountered Zumi, otherwise known as the lemon cake ghost. He does not mean you any harm, quite a benevolent spirit and from what I’ve seen he is petting his dog Opi.

I was at the cemetery that night but you’re right, twas not Zumi who took me. It was a squirrel and while my eyes were closed waiting for my lemony lover he stored a walnut inside of me. I fell asleep crying but awoke to a homeless man removing the walnut at 4am!! HE TOOK ME TOO AND THEN FELL ASLEEP THERE FOR 2 MORE HOURS! THERE IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED YOU INSENSITIVE DIRTY BIRDY MAN CHOWDER SALLY?
