Real Haunted House

Red-Eyed Man

Piper, Kansas

Many years ago, a young teenage girl was killed by her jealous adopted sister. Today the house is plagued by paranormal activity. A toy horse, which must be pressed firmly to produce sound, makes loud noises with no apparent aid. Lights flash on and off, and children report seeing a red-eyed man.

Correction to the story: The girl was killed by her sister and her sister’s boyfriend. She was actually beaten to death and left in the kitchen of the home.

Yeah something like what he said cause it sure wouldnt make since for kids to see a red eyed MAN if it was a woman killing a woman.

OH MY GOD. WHY THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?

BY The Lord DEMONHEDGEHOG OF My Lair.

Now that about that red-eyed man is interesting.

It would indicate that it is not only the girl
that haunts the place, but another entity as well.

Is there any other information about that house?
Does anyone know how old it is, and wether other
tragic events took place there?

Often, such stories turn out toe explain only a PART
of the whole history of that place – and often only
during close investigation and exorcism, the people
find out that there is actually a lot more going on.

By the way, are there any further descriptions
of that particular man? Could they see the rest
of his body, for example, or did they just see
a black silhouet with two bright red eyes?

I am not yet thàt experienced, but so far,
all the cases I came across with apperitions with
bright red eyes involved demonic activity.
So far, I’ve seen only non-human entities manifest
themselves with bright red eyes.

I grew up in Piper and went to school there. My family still lives there. I knew Cindy and her family. I think it is SICK that someone would talk about the deceased as the fool below does. Please get the story straight. YES, she was beautiful! Do I believe that Cindy would haunt that home and scare the **** out of children? HELL NO! IF that house is haunted it was haunted before Cindy was killed.

Dae Rolf says:

September 17, 2006, 10:36 am

Amanda, what the hell are you talking about?

“talking about the deceased like the fool below does”!?

For your information, oh amazingly ignorant one,
I never said that the possible demonic presence
would be that girl Cindy.

For your information, tragedies like this one
appear to attract the attention of other otherworldly
entities, and then I am talking about non-human ones.

For your information (for the THIRD time);
HUMAN SPIRITS NEVER MANIFEST THEMSELVES WITH RED
EYES AND AS SHADOW CREATURES!!!

And what SEEMS to be the case here is just thát,
an inhuman entity that has been drawn to this
site for some reason,
AND NOT THE MANIFESTATION OF CINDY!

Amanda, if you really don’t know a single damn thing
about these subjects, then please do stop wasting
our time with your gibberish.

I, and the other serious investigators here,
only wish to read SERIOUS answers.

I also live in Piper and have four brothers and sisters who went to school here. My brother Shawn Bunce use to date the lady who killed cindy, she was on drugs and jellious. The house cannot be haunted, it is in country side and and i have not heard about it being a “legend” till now. i dont believe any of this “red eye” stuff is correct in any way shape or from.

Two things:
1) Can someone familiar with this murder please give more details (ie: when it supposedly occurred, Cindy’s last name, the name of the alleged murderer, etc.)?

2) liz, are you Elizabeth Bunce, the novelist who lives near KC?

well in one case it could be the murder trapped there do to his crime or like Dae Rolf said might be demon activity. in cases of a violent murder sometimes it will create a case where a demon can be in the place that said murder happened.

I can’t believe people would be so disrespectful to someone else! Let Cindy rest in peace! I went to school with her. She was a very bright and intelligent girl. The funeral was so sad. When we were standing there at the grave side service, there were journalist tape recording her burial!! That is so disrespectful!!! Her sister Sherri, will burn in hell for what she did to Cindy. Cindy was brutaully murdered by 3 people who tried to make it look like a break in. Not hardly, they took a 2×4 to her, one of the men took his boot to her head and well I will not say anymore. This brings back so many memories!

The girl who was murdered was named Cindy Bierman. She was murdered by her STEP-sister Shari, her boyfriend and a friend of theirs. I only know this because a relative of mine worked for the attorney that represented Shari. This is not a “legend”. It just happened in the early 1980’s. It was a brutal and terrible thing that happened. My sister played softball with Cindy when they were young. It’s garbage like this that causes the family not to get any peace. They’re good people. Leave ‘em be.

heather says:

I believe the red-eyed man is the boyfriend because he’s the only man involved in that story and i wouldnt think that it’s the dad because the dad isn’t mentioned in the story so it has to be the boyfriend. And if the house was haunted before, then i think the red-eyed man is what caused the jealous, adopted sister and her boyfriend to kill the other sister.

Sheila says:

September 22, 2008, 2:50 pm

Bierman’s 20-year-old daughter, Shari, was convicted and sentenced to spend 15 years in prison for killing her 17-year-old sister, Syndi, in 1989.

Sheila says:

September 22, 2008, 2:59 pm

Syndi Sue Bierman
17 Years Old
July 21, 1971 to February 19, 1989

Syndi Sue Bierman, of Kansas City, Kansas, was a 5′ 3″ blonde-haired, blue-eyed, 17-year-old bundle of energy with a smile that could light up the room. As a young child, Syndi was always busy with something – dance lessons, competitive swimming, diving, softball, reading, piano lessons, and playing the trumpet and flute. When she was in junior high school, Syndi played in the band, played basketball and volleyball, and was a cheerleader. In high school, she was yearbook photographer, played softball and volleyball, and was on the drill team. Syndi was an honor roll student who had been admitted to KU, and was looking forward to college and everything that goes with it. Throughout her life, she was an active member of our church. She participated in Sunday School, the puppet ministry, served as an acolyte, and was a Sunday school teacher for a short time. Syndi didn’t always agree with us and was sometimes a little snippy, but she had a conscience that enabled her to care about others’ opinions and seek forgiveness when she needed it. We have many wonderful memories of Syndi, including her beautiful smile, her care and concern for others, her love of family and the positive way in which she touched many lives. We wish you could have known her.

On Saturday evening, February 19, 1989, Syndi Sue Bierman of Kansas City, Kansas had returned home from work around 8:30 pm and had invited two of her girlfriends over to watch a video with her. Syndi’s sister, Shari, and her two children were living in a basement apartment in our home.

While Syndi and her two friends were watching television, Shari and two male acquaintances came to Shari’s apartment. One of the boys called upstairs and, according to the girls, made sexual remarks to Syndi on the telephone. Shari came upstairs a few times asking if Syndi’s friends were spending the night and asked what time they were leaving. Shari and her male friends then left. Around 11:15 pm, one of Syndi’s friends left and the other left a short time later after declining Syndi’s invitation to spend the night because she had church plans with her family early the next day.

From what we can piece together, Syndi was either in bed or getting ready for bed when her sister Shari and the two males returned. We’ve heard two stories of what then transpired, but will probably never know for sure. One story is that Shari and her two male friends planned to kill my husband and me for insurance money. The other is that they planned to rob the house and Syndi woke up and foiled the plan. Whatever the case, they severely beat and stabbed Syndi to death. They then left the house thinking that my husband and I would return and find Syndi; however, Shari came back before we returned and called 911 to report that our house had been robbed. We arrived home to find the house swarming with police officers and the news that our daughter Syndi had been murdered.

Our daughter Shari Bierman and her two friends, Conrad Joseph Hernandez and Archie E. “A.J.” Owens were all convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

OMFG!!!! I live in Piper!!! I’m gonna have to tell my dad to drive me up to the house. My dad likes the paranormal ’cause we used to live in a haunted house. We will probably watch from the car. This is so cool! I sorta don’t believe the “Red Eyed Man” story. Thats not true. But what if it were a demon… what if the only reason the adopted girl killed her sister was because she had her body possesed? Maybe the house was infested with demons? I’m gonna find out for myself… I’m feeling brave today so I’m gonna go on the inside and find out for my self!

Wow. There are a lot of people who “knew” these girls, but can’t seem to spell their names correctly. It’s “Shari” (whom I went to high school with) and “Syndi” (who was in my brother’s graduating class.) Shari was unstable from birth, as far as I could tell in school, and it was only a matter of time before she harmed someone. It was very nearly my best friend, who for some unknown reason Shari did not care for. Anyway, if anyone were to haunt that house it would be Shari and not her sister, and Shari is still alive. Also, I know many people who live within a half mile of that house and this is the first I’ve heard of it being haunted at all. It’s simply not true, or I would know of it. I wouldn’t bother driving by; you’ll just be disappointed. It’s just a regular house.

I knew Syndi. She was and is an angel. She was a very, very kind and intelligent person who just happened to be beautiful. I’m sure she is watching over her family now. She and her family are in my prayers. The anniversary of her death was yesterday in 1989. May she rest in peace.

Casey says:

Jacob, You’re such a pig. So disrespectful. And poor Cindy has nothing to do with this haunting ****. If this has to do with anyone, it’s the insane people who killed her… It’s disgusting. I can’t believe hate gets this far. It seems impossible. Sherri was on drugs.. she probably never would have done what she did if she wasn’t.

This message is for Dae Rolf. Sorry it is so late in posting as I just read their reply to my post.
HOW DARE YOU CALL OTHERS IGNORANT! You must be speaking of yourself because that certainly does not describe me. Now go back to your “ghost investigating” as if it were a serious matter because you obviously have no skills to communicating with the living. Ignorant piece of ****!

I currently live in Piper, Kansas in the neighborhood Prairie Oaks (which is where this supposedly took place) and this is the first I’ve heard of this incident. I would just like to know which house this took place in (if anyone knows, reply back that you do.) Sheila, where did you find that information?
Did she go to Piper High School? Because I go there and there are many teachers that have been around the school since before the 80’s. This is really interesting and I would just like to know some history that went on in my hometown. Any information would be appreciated.

p.s. some of the comments made me crack up. ;)

p.p.s. some made me cry.

Her name was Cindy Bierman. She was in the class of 1989, and yes there are still teachers at Piper that knew her. There used to be a plack on the wall near the gym in the high school that has a picture of her and a poem. It may still be there…I haven’t been in the school since I graduated over 10 years ago. She was absolutely beautiful! I still remember when she was murdered and how sad everyone was…I was only 6 or so. I can’t tell you much about the house location but I’m sure there are people in that neighborhood that know which one it is. All I can tell you is it was brown at the time of the murder. Please remember before asking around that this was a real person who touched many lives. There are teachers at Piper that will NOT take it lightly if someone is poking fun or making jokes about the home being haunted. Remember she was a student they all loved and will never be forgotten. She was cut down before her time by evil, jealous, cruel people. Her sister is currently serving her time in the Topeka Correctional Facility.

You can view her info at http://www.doc.ks.gov/kasper and search for Shari Bierman.
