Real Haunted House

Red-Eyed Man

Piper, Kansas

Many years ago, a young teenage girl was killed by her jealous adopted sister. Today the house is plagued by paranormal activity. A toy horse, which must be pressed firmly to produce sound, makes loud noises with no apparent aid. Lights flash on and off, and children report seeing a red-eyed man.

I went to Piper and was in school with Syndi I didn’t know her or anything about her until after her death. A lot of students at Piper then and probably still today all wanted attention they knew her, knew someone that was friends with her or dated her that’s all they talked about, it goes on and on if not about Syndi then someone else or something else that has happened in Piper. I’m pretty sure the house is not haunted now or before her death I think her parents still live there today. Have respect for her parents, her friends and anyone that truely cared for her by not posting on here about things that are not true.

I didn’t know Syndi or anything about her, I was in school with her at the time of her death though. I just wanted to let you know what some of the students at Piper are like, they are starved for attention they knew her, was friends with her, knew someone who knew her or dated her it goes on and on if not about her then about someone or something else in Piper. Which is how this whole haunted thing started just so Piper can be talked about. I highly doubt the house is haunted now or before her death, I think her parents still live there so please have respect for them don’t go driving by there house they have been through enough. Remember someone who was truely close to Syndi may read all of these posts so keep the facts straight.

girlygirl- Why do you say that students at Piper were starved for attention? Because they supposedly knew Syndi? You have to remember Piper was a small town during that time and the time I attended Piper. So someone either to her or knew people her knew her, seen her around school or out in public. Again, Piper was a small town so word of something as bad the crime was especially in a town where nothing like this ever happens, is going to spread around like bees on honey.

Who knows the house could be haunted or it may not. Its not anyone’s business but Syndi’s family. But I agree with you also about not driving around the house. It is very disrespectful not only to Syndi, but her family. Those people need to show at least a little class or try to act like a human being with feelings at least just a little.

Actually this is a true story because the girl was friends with my father. And after she was killed my dad had to bury her because he worked at the funeral home.

This story is bunk! Syndi’s mother was my Kindergarten teacher and whenever Syndi had an opportunity, she came in to help her mother out in class. Syndi was such a nice sweet lady. I remember the first day of school after Syndi’s murder in 1989. That day is in-grained in my head forever. The school was … surreal. We didn’t do much all day and the whole atmosphere was depressing. The day of Syndi’s funeral, every teacher at the school requested a substitute so that they could go to Mrs. Bierman’s daughter’s funeral.

I don’t know about the haunted house but I used to work at LCF where Shari Bierman was before they moved the women to Topeka. Before her there was no fence and razor wire now there is fence at LCF E because she kept running off.

I am really disturbed by all of the inacccuracies in the story by people who obviously don’t know anything about the truth. I still live in Piper and have since 1976. I was 2 yrs behind Syndi at Piper High School. Yes, by the way…those of you that claim you “know” her….her name was Syndi Bierman…not Cindy Berman. I was not best friends with her, but in an avg graduating class of 60-70 people at that time, you definitely got to enjoy her presence and sweet smiles she always offered me. Syndi was murdered by her adopted sister, Shari and Shari’s 2 “friends” on February 19,1989 at approx 3AM. She was savagely attacked after her friends Lisa and Renea (know them, but will not give out their last names for privacy)left at 11pm. She was beaten with 2, 2×4′s (one with nails).she was then stabbed multiple times and finally, her throat was slashed with a knife from their kitchen. No, her body was not found in the kitchen..she was found beside her bed after she rolled out of it during the attack. The house is still standing, and to my knowledge there was never any paranormal activity before Syndi’s murder. I know where the house is….about 5 miles from my house…but for the privacy of the people who now own the house, I’m sorry…will not share that information. Syndi’s brutal death was a horrible loss to all who knew her. That Monday morning after it happened (on Sunday morning), will always be in my mind…the high school was swarming with grief counselors, media people and a lot fewer students than on a normal day. Syndi would have been 40 yrs old now. Her sister, took that from her. Shari and the 2 men are serving life sentences in prison…Shari tried to get parol in 2004, but did NOT get it. Thank the Lord! RIP Syndi Sue Bierman. You are missed!
