Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Restaurant

Plover, Wisconsin

It is said that in this former house a young baby was killed. Allegedly, when no one is in the building, a light will suddenly come on in the office–formerly a bedroom–the bedroom in which the baby was killed. It is also said that sometimes glasses move around the bar and even shatter on their own.

If these things only happen when there is no-one in the restaurant, then how do you know they really happened???

This site really is full of bad writing. A young baby? As far as I know, all babies are young.

Ah, The Cottage. Many, many spooky stories abound about that place. It’s been for sale for years, and no one wants to buy it. I wonder why…

It’s fun to have “bed room” stories about screaming. I know I get a yeller once in a while too.

And I’m guessing that w/ the moving glasses, it indicates that someone might’ve been drinking.

Do you all want to here the real story??

There is a house that was converted into a resturant. Employees witnessed, along with a few guests that there were glasses flying off the hanging wine racks and also a sighting of a man wearing early era military garb. There are lights that turn on and off and there is a baby crying. After the problems had gotten out of control, they had no choice but to close the resturant. The resturant has been sitting there for years and years. I do not know what causes these spirits to linger there and I do not know the stories behind the sighting or the baby. There was no reported murder or deaths that occured at that home. According to the files and death certificates availble for veiwing at our local library. People around here either do not want to believe it or just do not want to talk about it. I will update as soon as I find more info.

Okay, just to let everyone know for the record: My parents currently own this restaurant and have for about 20 years. I have heard all of the stories but I grew up around the restaurant for 18 years and never experience any type of ghostly activity. I spent plently of time in there and nothing.

everyone needs to learn how to spell in the comment section and the baby is dead and doesn’t really need to be alive to brake a glass and someone could have been in the room when it happened because how would they know if a glass broke retards. I thought also thought the story was really interesting and some people need to grow up and the lazer guy who made the sex comment, you are a total perve who needs a life and a real girlfriend. But anyways, I believe that some of you are really funny;)

Some guy probably got drunk and then killed a baby- maybe he was throwing glasses at it when he was alive and hit it and then you hear the baby ghost crying -maybe he hit it so hard he killed it-who knows? Who cares? It IS a GHOST STORY you know.

I live in Plover, about half a mile at most from The Cottage! I pass it everyday to and from work. :) I’ve heard stories and such, but I don’t know if any of it are actually real. Still cool that little, ol’ Plover is on the map.

Lived in Plover for over 50 years. I actually knew the family that lived in this house. I don’t believe the house was ever really haunted. The house was turned into a restaurant -called the Cottage. I knew someone who worked there. They worked there for several years and said the stories of mysterious happenings were made up and nothing occurred while they worked there.

I saw it happen! I’M the baby’s brother and I’m the one who turns on the lights and turns off the lights. For the record he was young and a baby brother to me who I am brother. His name was Raffieal and my name is Pierre. We are the pierre and raffieal twins. We were twins and I’m a baby TOO. I died when he died and I’m a GHOOOOSt. WOOOOOOO. If you read this I’ll kill you and turn your lights and on and off. BOOOOOOOOO that’s the noise my brother was making when I killed him. We are ghooooosts. I was there when we died. We both died on same night. Grandpa Genepool was there and he killed us. He haunts youuu. DEATH. Grandpa genepooooool. And once upon a time grandpa genepoooool. Goodbye.r

Visited The Cottage Resturant justr last weekend. Took pictures of the house as it now sits. You cant get a close look inside because windows have shutters on them. The original buliding has been added on when it was first made into a resturant. The exterior is I would belive to be original, except for being painted. While walking around the building, I could sense I was being watched-from someone inside. My eyes were drawn to a small window at the back of the building- where a staircase to the upper floor is. I took a couple of pictures of that area. The aura around the building is that it does not want to be disturbed.

I used to live in Plover and I have driven by The Cottage many a times. The place has been for sale for years. I personally have seen 1 light on in an upstairs room at any given time between 10pm-4 am. I lived in Plover for about 6 years. I also had a friend who was at the restraunt when it was still open who witnessed glasses flying across the room. At that time I lived behind the place she immediately came to my apartment a bit freaked at the incident.

I worked at the cottage for a year during school at UWSP. I personally had one lady freak out at the table closest to the kitchen claiming to have seen something and left. That was the only person I know of who claimed to have seen something first hand. Upstairs however, there was something going on. There was a large area converted for use as a banquet area, and then another section of the upstairs that was closed off, unfinished and in general disarray. I did walk through there one night and was totally creeped out but never saw anything.
