Resurrection Cemetery
In the 1940s, a young lady lived across the street from the cemetery. After becoming infected with tuberculosis, the girl died and was buried in a white party gown. It is said that on dark nights, one may see a bright, illuminating figure of a young girl walking along the side of the road. It is said that if one stops, she will ask him for a ride home because she is lost. Once they get past the cemeterys property line, however, the girl disappears.

I can’t imagine the ghost appearing to anyone. Considering the grave yard is right along BUSY route 100. Maybe she walks (or floats) down to the skating rink on a Saturday night looking to scare someone in the parking lot.

I do not believe this is a true story. I have been very active in the field of parapsychology, doing a lot of research and investigations, and it sounds like Resurrection Mary in Chicago.

HI, A couple people on here have said that The ressurection cemetary is in ILL. Not in PA. In Trexlertown there is a Ressurection Cemetary, whether the story of the girl is true , I don’t know. I go to one of the colleges that are near Trexlertown and the first time I saw the signs for the cemetary I immediatly thought of the Mary from the Ill. area. I thought it was kind of amusing. But yeah, there is a cemetery withht he same name.

This story is told a thousand different ways in a thousand different countries. There is the White Lady of Buckhorn near my own house in Altoona. There is also the White Lady of Sheperd’s Mountain in Virginia. Same story different cemetaries.

This tale is not true.
There is a Resurrection Cemetery in Allentown, PA, not Trexlertown.
I agree that this tale is a mix of Mary, the ghost Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago and urban legends about the disappearing hitchhiker. The former is a well documented case.

Wow!! My mother in law lives right across the street from the cemetary. I never knew about this story, and asked my husband about it and he said he and some friends have seen the girl. Guess I need to pay more attention and see if i can see her also!!!

I saw this one on Unsolved Mysteries and it is definitely in ILLINOIS!!!! There are a lot of vanishing hitchhiker stories areound the country and I think they may very well be urban legends. Resurrection Mary however has been called the most documented vanishing hitchhiker (or any other kind of ghost pretty much) around. I am not even going to try to say this one’s fake, there’s too much documentation, however this documentation is for the one in Illinois on Archer Avenue and not in Pennsylania.

We know a person who has picked this “woman” up… it was really creepy… she got out of the car, went straight to the cemetery, and disappeared… just hope that none of you had the same experience that he did!

a lot of people see ghost on bright sunny days and didn’t know it. I saw an old farm house being boarded up because of being abandon for years. And my wife and I noticed an old woman sitting on a rocker on the front porch amongst all the workers. we drove a block down the road and commented on it,then drove back.and she was gone.Later I ask the lawn care guy and he feels someone is watching him threw the window, thogh never seeing anyone????

WOW !!! That’s really freaky. Has anyone ever tried to talk with her ? Hearing this story makes me want to get in my car and go find her. Maybe she’s lonely and just wants to tell somebody what happened to her. I believe this story and i think calling this an Urban Legend is a good way to deny that things like this really happen ! Does anyone know Ressurrection Mary’s real name and age ?
