Real Haunted House

Riders Inn

Painesville, Ohio

People spending the night in this hotel have reportedly been accosted by a menagerie of apparitions. There have been reports of hearing loud voices in the next room when the next room is empty. Visitors have also said to hear someone walking within the walls of the building as well as the hallway. Inside the inn, there is also one door that will not stay shut, even after 2 by 4s and nails have been used.

I was born and raised in Painesville, and I’ve never even heard of The Rider’s Inn. Where exactly is this place. Just curious as to it’s location.

Perhaps they are reffering to the Riders Tavern…….I believe it’s down the road from Hellriegel’s. My mom was born & raised in Painesville & tells me that they used to hang out there all the time. She never mentioned any haunting though.

I have lived in Painseville since i was about two years old and just recently I went to riders inn to apply for a job and just walking in there it was very spooky. the lady also told me that i would have to learn of all the ghost stories so we could tell them to the guest if i got the job well i never got it (they told me to come back later) but it would have more then likely been an awesome expierince!!!!!!!!!

I think that people are crazey if they know that inn is haunted and still stay there by the way I lived in this house on Lindon Ave. in Zanesville Ohio and every night at 4:00 am you would hear a girl scream because we had a blacony on our stairs and in the 19090’s a girl of around the age of 9.

It would sure be nice if everyone would proof read their comments before they submit them. “sdfsda” what about the girl on your balcony???? Oh yeah, and the year 19090’s. Okay. What a bunch of mish-mosh

I personally think this place is haunted because me and my daughter, my friend and her daughter stayed the night in Susan’s room and my friend stayed in room 10. My daughter witnessed a picture falling and she was right there and didn’t touch it. I my self stayed up till 4:30am. Around 3:00am, the doorknob started to turn. I locked it before I sat down and was video taping. My friend was really drunk so I thought it was her messing with me so I opened the door and no one was there. I went to her room and she was passed out cold along with her daughter. The next morning, we went to get our stuff together and the night before we bought 10 roast beef sandwitches from Arby’s and I had 2 and she had 2 and both our daughters only had one. That leaves 5 left. Only 3 were left. I thought that was odd if a ghost did take food. I did take pictures with my digital video/camera, and 2 pictures had an orange orb, and the other was blue. But it was a wonderful time and a very welcoming place. We are working on going back here real soon.

I know of this place, my mom was raised up around Painesville, and she had told me at one time years ago, there use to be tunnels for slaves. Where there could get away to the river. This is a very old Inn on Rt. 20…dan
