I have been to many so called haunted houses and places and I have yet to see any of theese sightings. But I do believe that there are demons that can be there causing theese sightings but there are no such things as ghosts people do not come back after they are dead they go to heaven ot hell.

Greetings feelow Ghost Hunters. The Deadman here. A few years back, a couple of friends and I stumbled upon this place by accident. It is along the railroad tracks out damn near in the middle of nowhere. We have been known to track down a few places and investigate for years, but that particular night…we came unprepared…We left the house intrigued, but never found our way back. Would love to go back. If anyone is actually interested (for fun or for a more scientific approach) please E-MAIL me back. Would love to re-unite or start up another group of Ghost Hunters…If interested let me know:)

Unfortunately this house was torn down 3 or 4 years ago. Before it was, 3 girlfriends and I went into this house. It was really bizarre. The house was knee-full with things from early to mid 1900’s such as magazines, papers, old checks, and oddly enough bunches of old typewriters. There was a housefull of antique furniture(including the rocker by the upstairs window). While we were in the house we didn’t actually see anything per se, but we all had a sick feeling that something horrible and evil had occured there. Though we were in quite a hurry to leave, I did manage to get a couple pics and an old local phone book. When we first took these things they smelled old of course but that is all, later we had to throw the things away because they were making my car smell like the smell of death. It was severe enough of a smell(like decayed roadkill)that my car had to be aired for two days just to drive it.

Interesting Story…it has been a few years since we ventured out that direction…So they tore it down…that blows. Would have like to have gone back.

I know where the house is that you are talking about, I acutally had the mother & son as patients in the local Nursing Home. As far as I know, nothing like a killing or anything like that happened there. I do know that the husband was mean to the mother & son and eventually left them for another woman and moved to Tennessee and started a new family there. The little lady who lived there was a precious woman, but the son was very strange and was obssesive compulsive about germs(imagine that!). He did collect old magazines, newspapers, ect. & oddly enough, typewriters and even had a large amount of the typewriters with him when he was living at the local Nursing Home. As far as I know, he is still living, where, I don’t know. As for his sweet little mother, she passed away in 2003 I believe. She was a precious, precious lady. I live in Cordova and the house actually needed to be torn down because it was condemed at the time the son was still living there. Their last name is all I will tell you, and it is Aaron.

This house was built in the late 1800s. But we believe some body had died there. We went in there there was alot of detail and noises to prove that it was haunted. We did see some faces on the second floor. But when we left that same window that we saw that face the curtain started to shift from up down and then back again really quickly. But really thats all I know.

I think it was very scary to hear about a chair rocking when you think no one is in it but a ghost is in the chair. Some people might even tear it down from all the scary things that have been happening! And I don’t understand why people pretend there was a ghost in their house! One person wrote there was a ghost that grabbed my but, but someone actually wrote it in a bad word. I don’t like hearing that because I’m 10 years old for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live across the street from where this house once stood. It burnt to the ground in 2001,I went and took pic’s of the remains for the son, it is true that Mrs.Aaron and her son were both in the nursing home, she passed in 2004 from cancer and her son was moved to a different home soon after. The house was not haunted her son was hit by a train on the tracks infront of the house when he was around 11,his father and grandfather were very prominent men in our community the family built the house as a statement to that in the late 1800’s.After the grandfather and father passed only the son and his mother were left, it had no running water,no heat, and the electricail was from the 1920’s that didn’t work, after the son was hit on the tracks he suffered major brain damage, which left him with several cumpolsive disorders[hording things being one of them].The rocking chair in the window was in the son’s room where he spent 90% of his time looking out at a world he doesn’t understand;with no electric and no lights at night a new haunted house was born.As I said before the house is gone believed to have been burnt down by careless kids at play,it was home to a pack of dogs at the time and that may have been the nasty smell on everything.Sorry to all the ghost hunters,no ghost here.

I’ve never heard this story before, and my family is from Cordova. My mother lives there now. I know of many places in the area that are reportedly haunted, and I have had many very personal experiences myself. Does anyone remember the old Indian Head Mills that stood in the middle of town beside the railroad tracks? There are countless old mill houses that have stood for almost 100 years, and so many residences are haunted. Jasper has several haunted locations, as well as other sites around Walker County. If you are interested in any stories, let me know and I’ll be glad to share them with you all.

Dogs dont have souls, what kind of **** is that? (No offence meant here). Every living breathing creature on earth has a soul.. They arent mechanical, nor a rock or a tree..

Kasper, I agree with you. They should look up the story of Poogan’s Porch in South Carolina. That place has been investigated by professional ghost hunters, and it has been chronicled in several books & on TV shows. Back to Cordova, I would like to hear from someone who knows about the old hotel there. I think it was the “Tallulah Hotel” if I’m not mistaken. It was still open in the early 1970’s, and I got to see the inside when I was a young child. Checkerboard tile floors, tall ceilings with long black ceiling fans and high balcony… Very plain, stark early 1900’s decor. It is said to be haunted. My relatives who live there have seen lights in the windows as well as a face that periodically peeks out. They’ve also seen shadowy figures of people walking past. I want to find out when the hotel was built, who built it, and just any information I can get my hands on. Please contact me at haunted_memphis@yahoo.com

I just found a house in Cordova that just came up for sale and have been told by the current owner that it is haunted but by “friendly” ghosts. The real estate agent refuses to go in the house. I am wondering if there is any substantiation to all this. It is a 3 story all brick house built in the late 1800’s-early 1900’s up on top of a hill just down the street from the fire station. It also has like a “maids quarters” behind it. If anybody has any stories on this place I would love to hear them. Thnx.
