Real Haunted Houses

Real Haunted House

Rogue’s Hollow

Clinton, Iowa

This whole area of town is haunted by the victims of a derailed train. Sometimes the light of the train may be seen. The main complaint, however, is that if one is crossing the tracks, his car will stall. The only thing he can do is sit there and let the phantom train pass through his vehicle. The nearby mill, which has been abandoned for many years, is said to start up every Halloween.

i crossed this railroad track and found myself stalled on them and could not move my car. i was scared shitless. my car just stopped! then the bars came down on my 1994 honda and a train was coming! my doors jammed and would not open. the train got so close to my car and passed thru my flippin car. holy **** my car just got hit and i am alive to share this story omg. i swear to god this is true and i will never travel to this place again. P.S. this track is on route 15 in Clinton, Ohio not Clinotn, Iowa. 5 miles out of cleveland.

ok i live in clinton, iowa the closest thing to a hallow we have is bulger’s hallow and i don’t think its haunted. its a camping place next to the river it does have a railroad track but its still used by I,C&E railroad. you go past eagle point park you’ll see a sign that says bulger’s hallow and you follow it all the way to the river can’t miss it,if you go to far you’ll hit the river

I used to live at Cambridge Apt. and yes I beleive that there are people from the past living there. There is no other way to explain the things that went on. I also know the nursing home there. There is no doubt that the whole place has some very unhappy spirits.

My grandmother was born/raised/died in my family’s house and my mom will probably do the same. All of have seen ghosts in our house including visitors. Our property used to be owned by Elijah Buell and apparently lived in the house behind our house…near the Cambridge Apts. Also, the old Shick hospital, Cambridge now, use to have prisoner of war people stationed up where lyon’s middle school is… i believe that hospital is definitely haunted.

I believe cambridge apts are haunted. My cousin lived up tthere, and i was there all the time and **** happened to us all the time.
We use to go hangout in the abandoned buildings to, and we’d hear people talking and footstps. And shadows.
The lights would turn off and on. doors would slam shut. And in her apt. when wed listen to music on her radio the station would always change by itself and things would fall off the wall ud see men looking into ur second story window. It was creepy.
Does anyone know of anymore real haunted places in clinton or around?
Im way interested and would really like to know!!!
email me.

I’ve heard the Cambridge Apartments are pretty creepy. And I’ve personally been to Cry Baby Bridge, and that thing’s freaking scary, but does anyone know of any other places in Iowa at all?

My mother has said that she is sure that cambridge is haunted she remembers when her father was the head cook at shick va hospital and has wonderful memories there but would love to go inside and tell the ghosts that”reds” (her father!) daughter is here and see what would occur.
but what id love to hear is any ghost knowledge or history of the tucker building/penthouse lounge i know for a fact that there where strange happenings there!! one of the resident ghosts name is stewart and that a babys skull was found when they where remodling to make the penthouse into a bar ive HEARD of a hanging and that mr tucker was involved in the dark arts?? to down right crazy stuff like rats with top hats walking across the bar? so any expiriences would be awesome to hear about.

My family farm out by Mallard, Iowa is haunted. The basement has a horrible feeling in it and so much **** has happened while I sleep down there. Well found out a year ago from my mom that my great grandma hung herself down there! Scary stuff. I’ve been seeing ghosts or whatever since I was 4 years old in every house i’ve ever lived in(3 different ones now). First house was built in 1919 and every night I woke up around 2am and a shadow man in an over coat and hat would walk up the stairs and into my closet(which used to actually be a door into the other room but was remodeled. The house was knocked down by coe college so they can make a soccer field). Also in the house by washington highschool in cr I saw a white lady a few times and I wasn’t the only one. Both my bro and sis saw it as well. Now I live in a house by the old rockwell on 37th and i’ve seen an old man twice now. He hangs in the basement mostly and the guest room upstairs(none of these spirits were threatening). But he only shows up when I talk about this stuff or watch it on tv so I try not to bother him and not talk or watch paranormal state(on AE) or ghost hunters(on sci fi). Any questions?

I do not claim to be a medium or psychic… Just a dude that sees things on a regular basis.

I live in clinton iowa and back in the 80’s we lived in a haunted apartment down in south clinton. It was on 13th ave south. it has since been torn down but at the time me and my family experienced alot of wierd ****. too much to write about. I also have been to cambridge apartments many times and the only time i experience anything weird was one time me and my daughter were messing around on the computer when all of a sudden the printer came on and started printing. It was definitely off to start off with. There was nothing on the paper when it was done printing but it still scared us silly.

I lived there, in that house- graveyard ten feet from the end of our yard. It was not the only one around where we lived. The dogs would bring home an irregularly large amount of limbs- deer but still large amouts. It seemed as though Something or someone killed for them. Look up Tucker Hollow, you will find the authors of mysteries. They were my neighbors, they have been there for a long time. Why? This IS the real deal I slept I in the attic room. I have seen thet death grounds! If you fell there IS something odd here feel free to contact me at Rebecca_greentree@yahoo.com

Ably House, Abbly House, Abbley House.

Cant believe there isn’t a thread on this site about Galina or the Ably House. The most complete single source I have seen is online at the galena historical soc web site. I have family all over Galena / Hazel Green and have heard stories for years. More of a history buff then anything else. Does any one know which cemetery the Ably / Bias families are buried in? FYI, Bias was the first on the farm. If the check http://www.galenahistorymuseum.org/ablyhouse.htm you’ll get a better idea of the basics. I’d like to know that happened to Bias’s oldest son who seemed to move away prior to all the deaths. Any info? Please email vegasbob1962@gmail.com Also, I’ve read on here about a Jo Davies County history book. Any idea on a title?
