Satanic Cemetery
In this old cemetery lies an old, burnt church that was the site of Satanic rituals many years ago. Many have seen ghosts walking around the site which is thought to be on of the seven gateways to hell. Today, the area has been fenced off due to the large number of visitors.

When I attended Shawnee Heights High School, I had a friend who lived in the house behind the church on the other side of the road (which is also gone). Out of boredom, we used the old church as a place to hang out (before it was fenced in). We were never destructive, mainly we walked around reading the headstones and occasionally through and around the old church (was a German Church until it burned. I was told the fire was started by lightning.) Please be respectful. There is nothing there such as what you are searching for. If it is haunted, it is by the family members who attended the church. I vote for an historical marker near the site.

When I attended Shawnee heights High School, I had a friend who lived in the (now gone) old house behind the church on the opposite side of the highway. We used the stone church walls as a place to hang out and smoke cigarettes. There is nothing horrifying there. I was kind of sad to see it years later as a pile of rubble. It was a German Church. From what I was told, it burned in a fire started by lightning.

I was there several times before the church was torn down. That old church was NOT a gateway to hell folks. I was just a place a lot of kids chose to party and vandalize, nope not a gateway just a place for disrespectful people went to act like jerks.

i have been to there a couple of times…when we went both times the gate was wide open no locks or anything on it…we seen figures dressed in white up by where the old church used to stand. also when we were leaving we heard chanting coming from a distance behind us. we recoreded with a camera and it was completely silent but when we watched the viedo you could hear it sounded like either dogs growling or some kind of animal cant explain the sound. it was too weird. also. theres a story of a mystery ghost car that follows you from the topeka road to the cemetary and yes we seen it…

Doubt anyone will read this as all the posts are old but I’ve been in the old church and the only spirits there were ones left by kids doing their party thing. All hype and no gateway to hell.

I know when my friends and I went there we actually went there twice once at night and then the next day at twilight it was in december close to the winter solstace. my friends adn I were going to go up to the cemetery but some ladies told us not to. well when we came back from there I truly believe that somethign came back with us because I didn’t believe in ghost or spirits when I went now I do becasue when we came back I was not able to sleep for a couple of days till I prayed about it with my father but there truly is something horrible in there and it seems to latch on to people and drive away with them.

MY friend and I went there one overcast day in April of ’95, over 15 years ago. It was a bit creepy even in the afternoon, but probably more from the stories than the actual setting. We took some video on his camcorder, but the sound was crappy because of the wind on the hill. The church was still standing then, but the roof had collapsed and there was graffiti and broken bottles everywhere.
As everyone else has said, nothing to see there these days now that the church is gone. Although we had no trouble from the locals, but we were there in the daytime and not really disturbing anything.

The church was nonsense, and now it’s historical nonsense.
Do some research, and if you’re extremely thorough, you might learn of the old schoolhouse in the area, somewhat near the school. It still stands, although there have been renovations to it.
I went inside it *once*. I’ll never do it again.
