This story is wrong, its a little boy and you don’t knock on the front of the school, you have to go to the nurses office, knock there then you have to go play on the swings with the little boy. My friend has found a warm little kids sweater sitting on the ground by the swingset, twice, same jacket… but be careful, cops like to catch people there.

so heres the deal, its a little boy, not a girl… and he didn’t get hit by a bus, he fell off the swings and broke his neck. He had to be brought to the nurses office, but he dies in there. So, you go knock on the nurses door, there wont be knocking back, and then, you go swing. My friends and I found a warm sweater, twice, same color same spot….

I have been to that school numerous times in the 90′s and always with a huge group of friends and it always knocked back. We did the whole “knock once for yes, and twice for no” thing and it works as well. I have seen the swings moving in the middle of the night. Once we were there during a thunderstorm and light drizzly rain, and as we were walking toward the nurse’s door from the baseball field one set of sprinklers came on. One. During a rainstorm. It was cool. We spent so much time there, we almost felt like we befriended the ghost!

This story is true!!! My aunt went there about 15 years ago, she knocked on the door, and it knocked back. She said she even saw a black shadow walking in the hallway, but she thinks it wasnt the little boy (or girl)she says it was an evil spirit guarding the child from ever beign free. But after she went home, she felt cold and lonely inside, she couldnt sleep for days. But if you do go to this school to see for your self, becareful. You never know what you might see or hear.

I’ve heard so many stories about this school,its ridiculous!And most of u people cant even get the story correct.I work at the Redlands city jail and we do have lots of cameras,so people becareful. Dont get me wrong…I love ghost hunting,probably one of my favorite things to do but its not worth getting rolled by the cops. haha If u guys are ever in the Redlands area, try going to the cemetery on Alassandro.
Its the most beautiful cemetery ever. Well at least i think so. I live right down the street from there
and when im bored i like to take walks around there.One day i was there around 3 in the afternoon,and i saw a mist aperation about 3 feet away from me. couldnt have been dust or dirt due to the fact the whole place is covered in grass.It was awesome.Anyways goodluck ghost hunters.

I lived in Mentone, a small town right next to Redlands. I went to Redlands East Valley High, class of 07 and I have heard the story of Mariposa Billy as well as Hells Kitchen and Gravity Hill. I heard that one of the books about the mansions in Redlands at Smiley Library has a picture of a trasparent boy sitting in the tree in front of a mansion. I also heard that Redlands is the most haunted place in the world with the longitude and latitude of 666 or something like that, however, i never really checked. Redlands is pretty old and there are lots of huge old houses. I never thought Redlands was a “known” place. ahah. its cool that you guys want to visit it. But since this story is about Mariposa Billy, ill tell you the school is in a secluded place up in the hills near what we call “snob hill”. At night its pretty dark and there are lots of trees. it adds to the mood. and the story i heard is that it was a boy named billy that got ran over by the school bus. he was brought into the nurses office where he died.

The weird thing about all this is I researched it on the net, newspapers, talked to people who lived in redlands and the truth is that someone was struck by a truck, but died at the hospital but even so if you go there and knock on the door you will hear taps back. I heard a scratching (faintly) on the inside of the door and a loud knock on the door (Never ran so fast). Always a weird uncomfortable feeling in the air. Whatever the story is, something strange is in that place.

The school on Redlands Blvd. and California has only been empty for about 2-3 years. I had a friend that went there Sophomore year and I just graduate in June of 07. It is now used as the Redlands Adult School. I’m not saying it’s not haunted, I have no clue, but I’m just saying that it hasn’t been empty to terribly long.

Mariposa Elementary is where the little boy supposedly died and knocks on the door. However there is a punch card clock that was used till the late 80′s that was so loud it sounded like a knock on the door. The story is bunk.

However the elementary school on California street is haunted by a little girl. I don’t know her story, but my friend’s mom taught there when I was a kid. One afternoon my friends mom forgot to bring home some papers she needed to grade so she brought us with her. For some reason or another she left my friend and I in her classroom alone for just a few minutes and we both heard a little girl laughing. My friend and I looked at one another and ran out of the classroom to wait in the car for her mom.

WELL WUT EVER THE STORY IS JUST LEAVE THE LITTLE GURL OR BOY ALONE AND LET THEM REST IN PEACE THE MORE U TEASE THEM THE MORE PISSED IT GETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TRUST ME IVE EXPERIENCED THINGS LIKE THIS BEFORE BUT WORSE.

ok,so yes i have heard this story among many others.Living in Redlands,you hear many ghost stories.Man does that town creep me out, but with all the stories you hear u find out that they are just that ….stories. Then came the day when my Brother and myself came up with the bright idea to go find out for ourselves. Not such a good idea. the whole way up to the school it was just a big joke to me. i was not scared one little bit. come on guys its just a school how scarey can it be but once there my tune changed. i instantly got a sense of unease,something was not right here. like that gut feeling u get when u know somethings going to go wrong. but whatever its just my mind playing with me. so we head up 2 the door and as we get there there are some strange sounds coming from inside. Of course we still decide to knock…..but there was no sound. so we knock again and this time there is this sound we could never describe,like screaching metal or something mechanical breaking. then we hear the sound of spinning and when u look inside there is your everday school house clock, you know the big ones with the huge numbers and hands. well tonight this clocks hands are spinning a mile a minute, going as fast as you could ever imagine and at that point we hear the loud banging of a knock coming from the inside of the door! lets just say that was the first and last time i tried to find out the truth to any ghost story.

I have a question, that I hope someone can answer. There is a story about how a young singer was killed in Prospect Park in Redlands. I would like to know how much of this is true. When did it happen and so forth. And if these reports of hauntings are true.
