Schweppe Mansion
This stone mansion with twenty rooms was unoccupied for half a century after the man who owned it committed suicide; he was mourning the loss of his wife Laura Schweppe. The halls are haunted by the ghost of his servant. The ghost of the former owner is seen in the bedrooms. There is one window in the master bedroom that, despite all the other windows being filthy, never needs cleaning.

Hey,Chicago is cool.I moved from Chicago to Oklahoma and I used to hate chicago, now I realize what a great place it is,anyway this story freminds me of a place mym mom told be about….in or around Wheaton? It was called Vorhees Castle?I know I’m not soelling it right but it was pronounced that way.Anyway supposedly a women died there and her boody was dragged down the stairs, supposedly every night her husband would hear it happening all over again and each morning he’d clean the blood off the stairs all over again…my mom said he built the house and there was a barn outside with a clock that never worked except fir on the night she died, and every year on that night,at the time of her death it would chime…the barn got knocked down but I did see the house before…it was spooky, abandoned, they used to give scary tours of it,my mom went when she was a teen,my grandma too…I would ask my mom more but she passed away.Does anyone know anything about this?
