Real Haunted House

The Sexton House

Russelville, Kentucky

The story goes that a girl got mad at the bad weather on the night of her dance while getting ready in her attic room and looked out the window and cursed at God. She was then struck by lightning that left her shocked imprint on the window. When the window was changed the imprint came back. They painted over it, still, it came through. So they boarded it up. About two years ago a man that lived in the house was found dead by the bedroom door of a heart attack. They do not know what could of caused it. God must still be angry!

There are no stairs in the house. Slept in the house many times with nothing weird about it. My best friends father was the sexton for many years and lived in the house.

I used to live in Russellville right by this house, and me and my cousins would always walk around the cemetery by this house at night just to freak ourselves out! But yes, like Chloe said, the man died in the kitchen after he supposedly “heard a noise and went to investigate” -of course, that’s by word of mouth. I honestly do not think that God himself would strike a human- an angry teenage girl in specific- dead because they cursed his name. But hey, she was going to go when she was going to go. I also disagree with the used phrase “God must still be angry!” If you knew anything about the bible, or God himself, he forgives and is merciful beyond our imaginations. Saying that is disgraceful and disrespectful. Yes, the image of the girl was able to be seen, and it was very quite eerie. I think the evidence of the supernatural really hit all of the non-believers in the face when the image still showed through the paint. If that doesn’t prove it, then nothing will. I do beleive in spirits and the supernatural, and I do have pity on this young, young, girl- her life had just begun, and she was taken at a time of hostility, not happy and peaceful like deserved. All in all, the Sexton house is very interesting. And I feel awesome to say that I was in the community at the time of this and got to experience it. It’s real, people, it’s real.

And no, the house is NOT a store. Way to embarrass yourself on the internet, Sarah. But yes, ah we are all just human. There IS a room up there, and it DID happen. I have been inside the house when a family friend lived in it. If you don’t know the story, don’t open your mouth. Thanks. 🙂

I have been to this house. I have seen the shadow of the girl in the window before they boarded them up. I have seen the imprint of the girl on the wood (maybe it was an aporition)but she was there! And to read that the person living in the home passed away in the home of a heart attack sends chills down my spine!!!! I believe this spirit will now dwell there as well.

Well i am in a local paranormal group, and my personal opinion is that this story is a bunch of bull, ( i may be wrong) but why in the world would u people get on here and make yourself look like a bunch of idiots, over something like this? this story had my attention till i got reading the comments, even if this is a true story and ghosts haunt the house, bickering and fighting on a website that has it will never draw attention to that specific place good luck. off to waverly hills i go!

My mom took a pic of the house and there was a face in the very right window. Anyone know what window she died in?

Well excuse me but it is right to put a Capital G on God in the middle of the sentence because it’s a name which means it needs a capital on it.Also this is a scary story so don’t read it when your about to go to bed because it might haunt you and there’s a place called Annesley hall it’s in Nottingham it’s really more scary than this story Lord Byron owned the place if you shout Lord Byron he will pop up if you take a photo but turn the sound off because there’s a Groundskeepers in there and don’t take a torch or will find you in there.

I live right down the street from this place. The guy who takes care of the cemetery usually lives there. When the new one came, his wife refused to live there,so it’s used as an office now.

Guys, you sound like you’re seven when you use the word “retard” as a derogatory term. Not to mention seven exclamation points a sentence, it’s quite cringeworthy. Oh and God is capitalized no matter where it is in a sentence, even a seventh grader should be aware of that.

The point being that the girl was going to prom and it started to rain, she was standing in window swearing at god for the rain and was struck

HA! I moved away from Russellville a long time ago, and left Christianity long before that…finding this on a google search is all I needed to be reminded why I left both…

Jesus ******* Christ.
