I live in a town 11 miles from Anson,and we are new to the area..We ar emilitary and just moved to Hawley..Well we heard about these lights,so myself and my two daughters who are 13 and 10,and 3 other military wives,all did this tonight..Took us a few mins to figure out the right road near the cemetery,but once we did,we drove down the road found the cross way and turned around..We parked and turned our car off,and there was a group of lights to the left,but we clearly new htey were the cemetaries lights..Then to the left of those there was a light which appeared to be in the middle of the road,it was white but on camera it was green.Then left to it was a very dim light that looked red on camera.then it turned white,and would go from bright to dim then gone..This happened at different times.Liek teh 1st tiem we seen it,it was only there for about 10 mins,then gone.We then had to leave do to another car..We came back and seen it again and this timeit was there for about 23 mins,and yet again another car,so we didnt get ot sit long enought with out being bothered..So i dont know what it was but there is somehting there,so im going to go back again one night in the middle of the week and not near
Halloween,so its not as busy and actually get out of the car and check this out further:)It was a great tiem and no matter if somehting is paranormal or not a old dirt road in the middle of feids with a cemetary will get your hair standing any ways:)

I believe this, My sister and her friends have gone twice. (I was too young to go myself, according to my dad). The first time they went out there, she said it happened plain and simple. They turned off the car and blinked the car lights the times and saw the light, started driving towards it and it went out before they got close enough to it. The second time she went out there, it was differnt. It was her, her friend, and her friend’s boyfriend. When they got out there the boyfriend was flipping out saying he didn’t want to go out cause he doesn’t want them scared (he was scared), they go out there and blink the lights, nothing happened. they did it again and it came on, the boyfriend turned on his car and started driving, but it didn’t shut off. They drove right by it and the light was coming towards the car until they got far enough away. She hasn’t gone since nor has the desire to.

I live in Anson and have been their several times. I have seen it several times never saw it change colors but have been told by friends that it does. Never heard voices. I do know some of the local cops and they dont tell people that its not true and that its a prank to try and keep people away many have had accidents on this road. One of the times I will never forget after we saw the light some of my friends decided to walk back to the cemetery I stayed in the car with a friend that was very scared. as they are walking we are driving behind them and one of my friends decides to stop the rest keep walking we kept driving after a while we couldnt see him anymore so we put the car in reverse and backed up till we could see him I got out of the car it was about 25-30 feet away from him and I asked if he was ok he didnt answer so I yell his name several times till I was practically right in front of him before he realized I was even out of the car he said he didnt know what happend that he had just froze and that it had happend to him before. But now the city has put up a bunch of lights out their so it would be very hard to see.

ive been here plenty of times alone and the light always comes out but never turns red…………..i do hear voices but never “mommy they got me” all i hear is “help me” “help me please”

This is sooo true, my whole family has gone out there several times and we have seen it each time. It is very cool. If you call out to it, the light gets brighter and turns red. No joke. The story I heard was that there was a blizzard back in the long long ago and the mother and son lived on a ranch by themselves. The son went out to check on the cows and got lost on his way back. His mother always told him if he got lost to flash his lantern 3 times and she would come out with a lantern to help guide him home. Needless to say neither of them found each other and they both froze to death. The light appears by the cemetary but you want to pass the cemetary and drive about 1/4 mile down and turn around. Trun off the car and wait for a few min then flash your lights 3 times,( might have to repeat the flashes 2-3 times but you’ll see it. I can practically gaurantee it. Have fun and of course be safe.

I went to school in Stephenville, and even though I never saw the lights my self (I was too scared too at that point), I heard a completely different story.

I am told, the story is, a woman, with two kids, was in a cabin during a major flood. Her husband was killed in the Civil War, so she was alone. I am told one of the children were sick, and she told the other child to go find help in the nearest town. Since it was a major flood, she gave the child a lantern, and said if you were distressed for any reason, I am going to stay on the porch until you get back, and just flash the lantern three times and I will come for your. Well, she got a little flashed three times, and set off, with her ill child, to find her other child, and found the body in the water. Trying to save her other child, she risked her life, and subsequentally, died, when she tried to save him/her. I am told, the other child died shortly after, being swept away by the water.

And that is why the light flashes three times for her to come looking for her lost child.

just a speculation, but it seems that you can tell liars and idiots from none liars by the way they type and the short stories they reply to the original topic like adding “a friend of a friend”, “a family member”, etc etc….if it’s true that you’re related or your friend is, you’d have enough decency to not blurt it out so the people won’t get harassed about it.

anyways, i live in Carrollton, TX and i would love to go to and check out the lights.

there is some truth but the grave of the boy is a girl and is a relative to a close friend and fellow investigator we photographed the site to see if anything above the grave a apparition appears in the form of an angel laying its head to rest of its hands watching over it

Anson Lights……haha Oh a great weekend in Anson. I had a good friend that grew up in Anson. When we were in college we went out there for a concert in Abilene and that Friday night after the concert we went to see both the Anson Lights and The Haunted Bridge.

The story on the Bridge is that a school bus went off of it because it’s close to a curve. So to warn people when you drive over the bridge slowly the kids beat on your car to warn you. The bridge is a metal bridge….and the beating sound is your tires going over the metal coils.

As for the lights…..it’s reflection of lights on the tall grave markers from the highway. White lights from when the lights coming toward the cemetery, red from the lights going away.

Hey i have never been to anson nor lived near it but with what i have read it sounds pretty promising to go see. But i am a little doubtful cuz if there are a lot of cops how do you know its a ghost at all what if its just a cop or some kid witha flashlight. i read the thing bout figure eights and !5 feet in tha air and stuff but sereously anyone can walk in a figure eight and throw a flashlight fifteen feet in tha air.and then turn it off giving the illusion of the “figure” going back into the ground.i mean Come On people. But i still wanna try it. does it work if your out o9f the car??? like maybe if your holding a flashlight yourself and you turning it on and off three times?? that way you know it wasnt a fluke of the car?? Comment so i can get an answer . Thanks for reading my sensless rambling
