Real Haunted House

Slaughterhouse (Luana’s Canyon)

Kingman, Arizona

During the gold rush days of the 1800’s, a gold miner and his family lived a small wood shack along a dry wash in the heart of the canyon. Via mule, the husband would venture into the Northwestern Mountains in search of gold, returning semimonthly with food for his wife Luana and their young children. One month, however, the gold miner did not return. Soon, supplies ran out and the children began to starve. Luana, not able to tolerate the sight of her starving children, lost her mind. During a thunderstorm, she put on her wedding dress and chopped her children up into several pieces. Luana went to the river and tossed the remnants down stream. Luana returned the next morning and crying for the return of her children she died. It is said that on certain nights the her wailing may be heard from within the canyon’s walls.

this will sound strange but I am freinds with the person that owns most of the land in slaughterhouse canyon. Everybody twists this story and they’re so sure they got the truth, sorry, you’re wrong. The supposed slaughterhouse that everyone speaks of was an old miners powder shack. This is why the Shack is 6 inches of concrete. The powder shack is located next to the road up a hill and can be walked up to and touched. the real slaughterhouse is up on private property you can see it from the main road. Yes it is called slaughterhouse canyon and why is constantly debated, here are the common reasons.
1. Kingman is old and guess what old town did have! A slaughterhouse! Yup animals were taken there and butchered and sold to the people of the town.
2. Butchers wife went nuts and killed her kids?
3. Miners wife went nuts and killed her kids?
4. Somebody went nuts and killed somebody!
Anyways, I have been there and you would be suprised by this place. Please keep in mind I cannot explain all of the weird things, I can explain the moaning, wailing, or screaming. Kingman is a windy place and the wind is constantly blowing which come over the edge of the canyon and makes an awful lot of noise which does sound awfully human like. People will dismiss this explanation becuase in the canyon there is now wind. They’re right, the wind is going over the top of the canyon.
Here are my experiences that are still unexplained. I owned a new jeep with hard wired auxilary lights that were hooked on the battery terminals. the main lights are run of the wiring harness and the alternator. I also liked washing my jeep and keeping it clean. I was in the canyon at night and all of my lights went dead, not my radio, not my engine, not my cellphone car charger, or the instruments. I was freaking out and slammed the brakes on the jeep and slid to a halt. I played with everything for about 20 seconds until everything just turned back on, I sat there stunned and pissed of in the dust cloud and when the dust finally settled I had a small hand print in the middle of my windshield with dust on it. keep in ming I dont have kids and for a kid to reach thatpart of my window he would have had to have been standing on my hood.
I left the canyon freaked out and I do have names and real people to back me up in this story. Email me if you have questions at Mechabay2@ yahoo.com

It’s a canyon filled with wolves and coyotes-that’s the crying one hears-but it’s a good story.

I have been going to Fairfield Hill in Newtown, Connecticut for a long time. It is the most beautiful place i have ever been to. I was playing basketball with my son behind one of the buildings there and i took his picture and when i got home and downloaded it on my computer. When i looked on the side in the window there was an outline of a face looking out. I didn’t look human. I have known this place to be haunted for along time but it doesn’t stop me from going there. I absolutely love it there.

Okay, so I live in Kingman, and I’ve heard about the slaughterhouse. This is not near what I’ve heard.
The story I’ve heard is that the kids were crazy. They went out at night to kill people (or something of that sort). Since they were like this, she killed them. And then (supposedly out of grief) she killed herself. I have heard that she’s the butcher herself, and I’ve never heard of the husband being mentioned, so she may have had a husband, I just wouldn’t know.
But I can’t help but wonder how they got the story they’ve posted instead…. interesting.
By the way, the slaughterhouse is in Slaughterhouse Canyon. You know, because back in the day, there were actual slaughterhouses… yeah… never heard of it being called Luana’s Canyon. That may just be somewhere else completely.
